How to Install Maximum Motorsports SVO Master Cylinder Brake Adapter Fittings (87-93 5.0L) on your Ford Mustang

Read all instructions before beginning work. Following instructions in the proper sequence will ensure the best and easiest installation.

Thank you for purchasing the Maximum Motorsports Master Cylinder Adapter Kit. This kit is intended for use in vehicles that have been re-plumbed to a standard 3/16" diameter brake line. The MMBAK-2.2 kit will adapt the 1986 SVO master cylinder ports for use with the standard 3/8-24 threads found on 3/16" brake line.

1.   Place the smaller, 1/4" adapter into the front port of the master cylinder and tighten to 12-16 ft-lbs.

2.   Place the larger, 9/16" adapter into the rear port of the master cylinder and tighten to 12-16 ft-lbs.

3. Connect the 3/16" brake line of the rear brake system to the forward port of the master cylinder.

4.   Connect the 3/16" brake line of the front brake system to the rearward port of the master cylinder

5.   Bleed the brakes in the order shown below and check all fittings for leaks. 

NOTE: If you are unfamiliar with brake bleeding techniques, consult a service manual for further information on bleeding air from the brake system.

NOTE: New master cylinders should always be bench bled before installation.
