So if you have a high horsepower '96 to '04 V8 powered Mustang and you're looking to eliminate some of the flex and twist caused by a rubber or poly motor mount, then it might be time to consider stepping into a solid set of motor mounts like the options we have here from Maximum Motorsports. Now, this kit will completely replace both the passenger and driver side mounts with a rugged steel mount for around that $80 price point. Install will get a soft three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here from me and a few hours from start to finish depending on your setup. All right, gang, so first things first here. These mounts are not going to be recommended for the mild setups or daily drivers out there as there is some vibration to be expected when eliminating the rubber or poly mounts in your ride in favor of a solid steel option like this. And, while I will say it's not nearly as bad as a lot of people might think, it certainly is still noticeable. So if you're worried about the excess NVH or noise vibration and harshness, you might want to consider going to a stronger poly bushing instead first before trying out a solid mount like this.On the other hand, if you've tried those poly bushings before and you keep having issues or you're just simply overpowering the bushings, then the solid mount is the way to roll. Now, by eliminating the softer link between the chassis and the engine, owners can expect less twisting and deflection which will give the car a more responsive feel overall, help those manual cars get into gear a little bit easier, and will ultimately help get every last bit of power down to the ground instead of wasting it through that deflection or twisting. Now the mounts themselves are actually built like a tank and include very burly 3/16-inch plate steel throughout, fully welded, and then finished off in this kind of flat or textured black powder coat. It should be noted that Maximum Motorsports does state that these mounts can be used with both stock and aftermarket K-members and can also be used with a Coyote swap as well if that's something you're entertaining with your SN95. As far as the installation goes, well, it does require you to lift and support the engine ever so slightly in order to swap out the mounts themselves. So because of that, the site did kick this one up to a full three out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter here, I'd say a soft three out of three at that and a few hours from start to finish depending on your setup. So in closing here, guys, if you're tired of breaking those stock rubber or even aftermarket poly mounts in your SN95, the solid options from Maximum Motorsports would be a solid choice and you can grab yours right here at americanmuscle.com.
