    Review & Install Video

Hi everyone I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com and I’m taking a look at a great way to add some show winning style to your engine bay, thanks to these fuel rail covers for your 05-2010 Mustang GT. The covers themselves are made from a durable heat resistant composite material and are finished in a titanium silver, which flows extremely well with your stock intake manifold cover. Not only that it hides the unsightly fuel rails, wiring and clutter, making for a much cleaner bay. Installing the covers should take you about 30 minutes per side making for a total install time of an hour or so give or take using the supplied allen wrench and detailed instructions. Now if you’re one of those people who like to save the hardest part until last, do yourself a favor and start with the passenger side, because the driver’s side gets a little tricky. If you’re digging the look these fuel rail covers are giving your engine bay but you’re still craving a little more, then you might want to check out our matching fuse box cover, or plenum extension throttle body cover to complete the look. There’s nothing worse than having an awesome looking ride, only to pop the hood to reveal a cluttered mess of wiring and hoses, so if you want to dramatically clean up your engine bay, you’ll definitely want to check out these fuel rail covers for your GT.

Money Saving Kit. If you're ready to add some serious style to your 2005-2010 Mustang GT's engine bay, our money-saving SpeedForm kit contains everything you need to dress up your engine bay for show-winning good looks.

Race Ready Styling. The SpeedForm Engine Cover included in this kit includes the famous "running pony" emblem with "Powered by Ford" lettering - so everyone who looks under your hood knows what keeps your pony leading the herd. And with the matching finned fuel rail covers and throttle body extension, this kit gives your engine bay a race ready look that will appeal to any Mustang fan.

Premium Materials. All the pieces of this SpeedForm kit are made from heat resistant composite that is light, durable, and won't slow you down. This composite also matches the factory accents.

Fitment. This SpeedForm kit fits 2005-2010 Mustang GTs (does not fit GT500).

Technical Note. The 2005-2006 GT Mustangs will require the 2007 GT Ford Factory Throttle Body Studs - part# W712289S437, and the Ford Factory Nuts - part# W520411S437 for proper installation.

    Fitment: 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 2010 Details

I see that some of these were painted after. Is there somewhere I can go to find out the best way to paint?

    KevinK

    • The SpeedForm Intake Plenum and Fuel Rail Covers can be painted, but we do recommend consulting with a paint/body shop before doing so. PLEASE NOTE: Once a product is painted, it can no longer be returned.

I see the description you have mentions "SpeedForm Intake Plenum and Fuel Rail Covers". However, it does not mention the throttle body extension cover. You do show a picture of the throttle body extension but is it included in this kit as well?

    GermanO

    • Yes the throttle body extension is included in the SpeedForm intake Plenum and Fuel Rail Covers

Will this item work on my 2008 Bullitt? It has the Ford Racing Intake and the factory strut bar. Thanks.

    justisf

    • The SpeedForm Intake Plenum and Fuel Rail Cover kit is designed to fit the stock intake manifold, and will not fit on the Ford Performance Intake Manifold. This does fit under the Bullitt strut brace.

Intake Plenum and Fuel cover on 07 GT/CS

Although it is not made in other colors then Silver on Gray, I repainted mine to Blue on Black which looks better on my car. Given the steep price for this, it would be nice if other colors were an option. Also during installation one of the fuel rail mount Riv-nuts fell off the mount. I was able to replace it with one from the hardware store and my fathers hand held rivet driver. The mounting system needs to be engineered better to account for the engine wiring harness and fuel supply tubes on both sides of the engine. Overall I am happy with the appearance of the Speedform Intake Plenum and the Fuel Rail covers, after some modifications, I just wish the mounting system was better.

      Plastic?

In short, the entire set looks and feels like plastic. Not bad looking but it's not me. So I took the set around to various paint shops to pep the look up but as I showed them what I was trying to powder coat with paint, they were all amaze that the entire set was made out of plastic. I thought, they were correct and for the money I paid it didn't seem worth it. Thus, I sent the entire set back for refund. I paid almost $50.00 just to return the item at my expense.

intake plenum and fuel rail covers

Was hesitant to pay this much for plastic covers but they are very thick and good quality. I painted these same color as car and they look fantastic. No regrets. they fit perfect and install only took about an hour.

SpeedForm Intake Plenum and Fuel Rail Covers

fits like a glove. cleans up the engine bay a lot. directions need to be a little more clear a step or 2 needs to be added to make it better. Must be very careful on the install not to mar , chip or scratch them that happens to easy with them parts. the Throttle body cover install need directions especially if your car does not come with one need a set of nuts added to the install kit.

      They look great; Install, so-so

These look great once they are installed in the engine compartment, but... Installation is a little tricky due to the fact that they are a generic fit for 05-10 GTs, which are not at all generic. The kit is also a bit pricey for molded plastic that scratches easily while installing it. Time for installation, once you have all the correct screws and a deep-well 5/32 socket, is less than an hour, not too bad, but for the price, all the screws should be with the kit ready to go so you don't have to go hunting for them (three stores, not everyone carries the recommended size or the replacement intake machine screws. The wiring bundles differ, the hose locations are slightly off, so you have to moderately modify them to accommodate these things to make them fit correctly. The stock bolts for the intake are just about 5/32 short, so you need longer bolts to install the intake and plenum covers properly. The side fuel rail covers have the mounting screws fairly far back, which is cumbersome to get to with the battery and master cylinder hampering the area. Also, the recommended screw length was a tad bit short to get a starting bite into the metal, two trips to the hardware store. Other than that, these are a great addition to your engine bay and will enhance the overall finished look that Ford should have done to begin with.

      engine dress-up

the two metal mounts for the fuel rail have the four nuts pressed on, no weld or anything else to hold them in place. two of the nuts fell off during install, everything has to be taken off to find the nuts and fix them properly, one side glue, other side pitched the nut and used a rivet cheap manufacturing for the money. once there are on they look great

      Good Product very fragile finish

This really dresses up the engine compartment. I looks great. However, the finish scratches off incredibly easily and I had issues with the mounting screws and alignment. The nuts that are pressed (?) on to the fuel rail cover mounting plates popped off leaving no place for a mounting location on the passenger side. After much agitation and some creative crazy gluing I got the mounting screw to start to thread. I have to change my plugs soon and am dreading removing this stuff, one because I don't want to scratch it and two I don't think I will ever get the passenger side re-threaded. Overall this kit dramatically changes the way your engine compartment looks for the better. I am happy now that everything is on and tightened up. I would just hate to ever have to remove it based on my experience.

      Exceptional look for engine!

If you are looking to give your engine that finished look, the plenum covers will give you exactly that! I wish that I would have gotten this option with the vehicle. Fitment is good, however if you have a catch-can you may have to do some cutting and filing to work around.

      Great look. Lacks required bolts

I had my Ford dealer install. It took them about 90 minutes. Like other buyers wrote, the cover doesn't come with the required bolts for install. The dealership had to order them from Ford. AM should review feedback and require their supplier ro provide all install parts and clearer directions. AM customer service is terrific, and I'm a loyal customer despite setback in install. End product looks outstanding, I'll post a pic.

      Tight fit, but sleek

I painted these to match the body, then installed. The extremely tight fit slightly scratched the paint, and the screws did not line up at all. But once I got it all in, it made me feel it was worth the work.
