    Review & Installation Video

Dave here with AmericanMuscle, and I have the 05 and up side scoops, they’re painted in all Ford OEM colors, available from us, painted in house. Which means that items in stock, it’s going to ship the same day, no waiting around, no trips to the body shop. Our pre-painted side scoops are going to include the alcohol prep pad, the adhesive promotion pad, and of course it includes the 3M tape, cut in sections to match the sides of your side scoop. One of the things you’ll notice as soon as you open the packaging, is that we’ve made sure that high quality OEM paint isn’t going to get damaged in shipping on its way to you. We’ve wrapped it in cellophane and shrink wrapping so nothing can move around and get scratched. With only a few minutes for our side scoop and our vehicle we were able to do what any 05 and up owner can do, install a part that gives the side of your vehicle a way more aggressive stance.

Aggressive Styling. Give your 2005 to 2009 S197 Mustang a much more aggressive appearance than the plain smooth factory quarter panels can provide with a set of Speed Form Lower "C" Style Side Scoops. These Speed Form Side Scoops are not only made of durable high strength polyurethane for a long life, but are pre-painted to match your Mustangs factory color straight out of the box!

Painted Here to Match 2005-2009 Factory Mustang Colors. All Speed Form Side Scoops are painted right here, at AmericanMuscle HQ, to match your stock Ford Mustang colors exactly. They will give your Pony a great, aggressive appearance that will make it stand out from the rest of the herd.

High Quality Materials. Made of a reaction injection molded polyurethane that is virtually unbreakable these lower side scoops are painted with the same base coat and clear coat urethane paint Ford uses on the exterior of your Mustang for a perfect color match.

Easy Installation, No Drilling. No drilling or messy fiberglass is required for installation. These Speed Form lower "C" Style Side Scoops install easily with the supplied super strong 3M doubled sided automotive bonding tape right behind the doors.

Application. These Pre-Painted Speed Form Mustang Side Scoops are designed to be a perfect fit on any 2005 to 2009 GT, V6, GT500, Coupe or Convertible Ford Mustangs and are sold as a set of two, one driver side and one passenger side.

    Find Your Paint Code

    • Choose the year of your Mustang from the options above. The color choices displayed will be the only exterior paint colors available for your year Mustang. The first two letters for each color option are the paint code for your exterior color.

    • If you need to verify your paint code, look inside the door jam of your driver's side door at your VIN plate to find your exterior paint code.

These Lower Side Scoops are also available Unpainted for those who like to do-it-yourself.

The scoop fits just fine at the top of my 2005 mustang. But at the bottom front corner passenger side, not so good, it has lifting away from the side a bit. Any suggestions on how I can fix the problem? The rest of the scoop sides are stuck on just fine, so I don't want to remove it entirely, just want to tact down the lower front quarter.. Any helpful suggestions would be appreciated.

I know these do not have a mesh grill.. I see in the pics that some look to have made their own.. wondering what they made them from? Specifically the pics by "Jeff" in the customer pics...

    • You can make the inserts out of multiple different materials. Plastic or wire mesh might be the cheapest route. I suggest looking on forums and see what others had success with.

Will it fit with... I'm looking into getting the Roush Rocker Molding kit and the edges look like they might get in the way of this product. Will they fit correctly if I have the molding kit installed?

    • Hello, while i do not own either this product or that one (yet), i do believe these will fit with the moulding. If you take a look at the back end of the customer pictures at the yellow and black one with the gentleman standing at the drivers side, you will notice he does have some sort of rocker moldings and they fit together perfectly. As well as Cameron's deep red in the first row, which is the (8th?) close up picture shows them meshing with a molding kit. With those, i would say that this product would fit together with no issue what so ever

there is a trick to installing these scoops--first notice the "ridge that runs through the car around the door handle--- the scoop has to be about 3/16"th above the ridge for the upper tape to hold. as mentioned earlier adhesive promoter is needed to keep the 3 M tape on the scoops. using a hair dryer to heat the corners of the scoops will allow you to form the scoops to the shape of your car. use painters tape to hold the scoop in place for at least 48 hours adhesive promotor can be used on the car BUT you only have one chance to mount the scoop properly

      Side Scoops - Pre-Painted

This review is on the pre-painted side scoops for my 2009 Mustang GT 45th Anniversary Edition. I actually purchased 3M tape instead of using the tape that was supplied. The install took me around 30 to 45 minutes and that's including prep time. The paint / clearcoat matched perfectly to my 2009 Mustang GT and actually enhances the exterior beauty. When installing the scoops, I used the door as my guide, then worked the bottom section of the scoop next. The top didn't have to be aligned as the bottom of the scoop was aligned. Instructions and all supplies were included in my shipment. This was faily easy to do. Just be sure that you are installing these on a warm sunny day, I installed these on 4/11/2011 and the outside temp was around 80 degrees. The installation difficulty level was pretty easy. Be sure to let the 3M tape bond/cure to both the scoops and the pony before driving or washing the entire vehicle. You can't go wrong with, fast free shipping took about 1 1/2 days to receive my scoops. I will make more purchases from

They look great on the car where easy to install. But noticed the bottom started to detach from the car after a month. Not sure if i should take them off and reapply them because the top and the sides are holding on great. Changes the look of the car excell.

      Side Scoops

First thing I did was buy new 3-M tape (180" roll) 2nd thing is take off all the over spray where the tape goes. Install new tape and fit to car and mark the top and align with door. Works great and use a heat gun or hair dryer and pressed into place.

I bought the Vista Blue Scoops(color is great). No instruction were included. Pretty basic install, had done similar before. held in place for 24+ hours. A few days later started lifting on ends. Will need to redue soon.

      side scoops

Not gonna lie, these area PITA to put on and get straight. They are "flexable", not a hard piece. This makes it a lot more difficult to get lined up correctly and get that OEM look. Go to the auto parts store and buy a roll of the 3m tape, you'll need it! They are a lot more difficult to get on correctly because they are "flexable"! They look good once you get them on, BUT they are more work then even I thought to get right. My impression was these were a solid "hard" piece, not a flexable piece! Once you get them on they do look SWEET... Just be ready to take some time to get them on. There are some paint "issues" with mine, slight, but none the less there is some over spray and runs. Not a piece for a "show" car, but for my daily driver, I am pleased.

Well I got them in the mail and I was not to happy.if it wasn't for the flaws they would look awesome.when they were painted , the very edge was not covered with paint and on the top of both scoops is a slight dent in the plastic.i had already put them on the car because I was so excited to get them before I noticed.i spend a lot of money with this company, this was a big let down.I don't think they would take them back now.

      not impressed

this product was warped and out of shape i sent the first one back and will be sending this one back as well. I bought stick on products before and tried to stick on warped and it stuck every where but where its warped and i'm not willing to try this with a pannel as this for fear of runing the paint. It may be your your packaging of this product try not wrapingthem back to back witch i beleive is what is making them warp out of shape.

I'm sad to hear two sets didn't work out for you, but we'll absolutely process your return quickly. Warping isn't an issue we've had in the past with these scoops, but I'm going to forward your suggestions along regarding the packaging to ensure it's looked into. Thank you for taking the time to submit your feedback on these scoops!

Looks great but fit isn't great

I loved the way these looked on my car but I did not like the way that they were secured to the car. The 3M tape did not do a good job of holding them on the car. AM was great about returning them. Overall they looked great, paint match was perfect but I was afraid of them coming off the car.

The 3M tape provided is an automotive grade bonding tape that has been lab tested and when combined with the adhesion promoter, it will have a firm and secure bond to your Mustang. You should have no worries of the scoops, or any other 3m product, falling off after install. Hope this helps in the future in case you want to purchase another similar product.

      Mixed Feelings

Scoops were fairly easy to put on. Was not at all impressed though on the final fit....have to use extra adhesive to get bottom corners to fit snug against body near the doors. After installing I noticed slight dimples in the scoops that I didnt see while it was in garage out of direct sunlight. scoops look cool on car...just wish the fit was alittle better. Almost afraid to drive now...for fear of the flying off. Good thing car is mostly a toy and not much of a dailey driver.Only 12k miles on a 6yr old stang.

      side scoops

Scoops make the car look Great!! But, I did notice that around the inside of the scoops there were little cracks in the plastic and my scoops are white so the cracks are visible if you look closely. if they would of been black or any darker color you probably wouldn't of even noticed them i didn't notice them until after I cleared them. Otherwise I would of scraped some filler in them before I painted them. Other than that I am very happy with them

      Happy with purchase

Overall satisfied with the side scoops. The performance white match perfectly with car. There was not quite enough double sided tape, so you will want to purchase an extra roll just in case. The scoops will stay on your vehicle if you take your time with the project. Just follow the directions.

I just finished putting the side scoops on my car. The paint was a good match. Had a little trouble keeping them againest the car. I think the 3M tape could be a little thicker. But all together I am very pleased with the product.

      Side scoops

Scoop had a dimple in each side but was livable, bottom of scoop did not lay flat against body and had to be supported but still had a small gap, filled with silicon and painted. After filling and extra double sided tape, looks good.

      Get More Tape

The tape that was included did not look like enough so I went to Home Depot and bought some more 3m tape. Also, bought a role of 3m tape that was about 1-2 inches wide. Easy install, but be sure to make a good bond and let it sit it the sun. Have had no problems for 4 months now.

Look great and easy to install.

I painted them myself as I prefer to do all my own paint work. Easy to install but take your time, it's a one shot deal. I heard complaints of the tape not stick good. That said I heated the area on my car with my heat gun, then installed scoops. Then all put 3m auto body masking taping over the scoops onto the body to hole them in place. Left them sit for 24 hours and removed the masking tape. It was 80 degrees the day I installed them too. Staying on the car perfectly !!!! I'm very happy !!,

      Terrible Adhesion and No Instructions

I have been working to update the look of my mustang rather than buying new, and thought these would be an easy step towards that solution. I purchased unpainted (got them painted at a better cost) and all looked good. Time came to install, and as mentioned, no instructions. Tried watching the videos, but doesn't indicate which length of 3M tape goes to which side for one, so took a guess at this. Also, there are only 2 promoter pads...After washing my car, getting all oils, wax, etc off. I alcohol swabbed the first scoop and area of car needed, applied promoter to the scoop and laid the 3M tape, then used the same promoter pad on the car (needed the 2nd pad for the other scoop and side of car...). Peeled the backing, aligned and pushed it on holding it everywhere i could for over a minute (video has the guy push it on and walk away...). 3/4 of the scoop instantly came back off when i let go and as smooth as if no glue had ever existed on the tape! Only the front length stuck...So, i tried to carefully pull the front off and the tape stuck to my car easily releasing from the I have 3M tape on my car and 3 strips of completely useless 3M tape on my scoop...If the rest had held, the front apparently would've released easily while driving down a highway. And if you aren't supposed to use 1 promoter pad for both the scoop and the car, SEND 4! Scoop looks nice, but do yourself a favor, buy sufficient 3M tape and promoter from somewhere else before trying to use what comes with the I have to figure out how to get this stuff of my scoop and car before I try again...
