Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my review of these black projector headlights for 1994 to '98 GT and V6 Mustangs. These headlights are going to be a good option for those guys out there that are looking to give their SN95 a very modern look with a set of one-piece, dual LED halo headlights.Headlights can have a big impact on the looks of a car, and I would say that these totally transform the SN95. You get the best of both worlds here since you have a black housing for stealthy style, but clear lenses so you can see even better at night. These are one-piece headlights that have black housings, clear lenses, and LED halos with accent lighting, so there's a lot going on here. This isn't just a plain upgraded headlight. This is a headlight that has the works when it comes to after-market headlight options. There's nothing else to add to these besides a side of fries, but I would say that these headlights definitely have a stealthy look to them and the black housing is to thank for that. The black housings give the LED accent lighting and the halo something to really stand out against, both during the day and at night. What's nice about these headlights though, is they have that clear lens, which means that you won't have any trouble seeing at night. You're actually going to have increased visibility at night since these are projector-style lights. And thanks to the LED lighting that these have, the projector lenses have a bright focused beam of light, and this is a different style of light than the standard halogen. And like I mentioned earlier, these headlights have dual halos that are LED-lit, and they have some LED accent lighting as well. The LED accent lighting consists of three LEDs that sit right here along the top of the headlights and they give the headlights and the car a very different look at night when they're lit. These headlights are DOT-approved and so they're legal for street use, and these are going to come with a set of H3 high and low-beam bulbs. Another thing that's going to make these headlights look different and like an upgrade over the factory headlights is the fact that these are one piece. All headlights are one piece anymore, and these make the SN95 look like it should have come from factory with a one-piece. They look much better than a three-piece light on these cars, at least in my opinion. As far as price, these headlights are what I'm going to call fully loaded and as such, they are going to be on the more expensive side of all the headlight offerings on the site. They are not the most expensive option, but they do cost just over $150. If that's a little bit expensive for you, there are some options on the site that are less expensive. When it comes to the install, you can expect to spend about an hour and I'm going to call this a one out of three wrenches on the scale, even though there is some wiring. But the headlights do come with some quick splice connectors to help you out with this part. You're going to need some basic hand and wiring tools to get this done, but nothing out of the ordinary. There isn't a whole lot to do to get headlights into an SN95, just some tabs and some bolts to undo, so it doesn't get much easier. Once the old headlights are out, you can install the new lights and wire them in. And keep in mind that you might have to aim these after the install if you want the best view at night, but the adjustment process isn't difficult.Wrapping this up, these black projector headlights have dual LED halos and LED accent lighting as well. They are a projector-style, one-piece headlight with black housing for stealthy look, and they can add a little style by themselves, or they can help to complete a whole smoked package. You can check these out more online for yourself and for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

These lights were great but the fitment had slight issues with "popping in" as the vague instructions suggest. the part that took the longest was the lining up of the hardware into the proper place in the headlight nose piece. i would definitely recommended these if you're an experienced "modder" per say. but over i would also say that these are spectacular if you're rocking the OEM headlights.Helpful (0)

works as described!
good product! was easy enough to understand with a quick youtube video, and needed minor tools. the hardest part was installing it without pinching any wires, but its not impossible!Helpful (0)

The headlights look incredible in pictures and in real life, however upon close inspection they are pretty cheaply made and also mine didn’t come with any way to mount them at all, not even the little plastic clips that the stock ones have that are garbage but at least they had a way to mount and direct them....I’m not sure if I just didn’t get them in my box, or if they literally just don’t come with ways to secure them in. Either way, they look great, but overall, eh.Helpful (0)

These headlights work great and were fairly easy to install. They were a tight fit into my 97 Mustang, however once they were in they worked perfectly.Helpful (0)

Looks great, great illumination, eh fitment.
Had a one piece chrome set before these that looked good, but mounting brackets were extremely cheap and broke over a few years and finally lost a headlight going down the highway. o.o the quality of these are much superior and the light produced by these are far superior to the hid kit that I installed. The only complaint is that the turn signal lamps are 90 degrees and the fitment wasnt 100 so it took some tinkering with the turn signals but after that everything went in super simple with no gaps, if there are just make sure to adjust the black snaps or what have you. I CAN FINALLY SEE THE ROAD! and they look spectacular.Helpful (0)

Had a bit of fitment issues at first because one of the snap in clips broke but they're the same as the stock clips so I just used it from the old headlight. The halo and led hookup isn't detailed enough and there isn't a video on how to do it properly so I had to take it to someone.Helpful (0)

This is my second time buying a set of headlights from american muscle. And both times I've been pretty disapointed. I just installed these headlights a week ago and my first issue was the fitting. They do not fit well in the 1996 Cobra. They stick out on the sides and are not flush and the weather striping on the top do not fill the gaps well at all. The weather stripping also didnt last a week. They have already torn off and now leaving a big gap between the light and the body making it look very bad. I like the look of the lights and the work well, I just don't like how they fit and how bad the weather stripping is.Helpful (0)

-2 stars for America muscle info
Honestly, don't waste your time on these. I wish I'd spent more (and gone to another site, this is too many low quality purchases from AM lately). If you decide you do want to buy these, I have some tips. Firstly, americanmuscle is wrong about the bulb size. They're H1 bulbs, NOT H3. Wasted a good chunk of money on nice bulbs that aren't focused properly, and even more time making them work. Secondly, run a bead of clear silicone around the corners because mine fog up bad. Thirdly, you NEED to cut your car up to make these fit. You won't be able to easily put stock lights in again. Notice in the installation video where he's trying to install, and they cut ahead? Yeah, americanmuscle knows this and just ignored mentioning. The LEDs aren't very bright, but once installed these headlights do look great. If not for false information in the QandA section I'd give these three stars, even with the cutting needed...because they do look good, they're a fair quality build, and cheap. But a lot of extra work. If you have daytime running lights, I would hook the halos to those.Helpful (0)
Which led light bulbs may be used with these lights
You would be able to use H3 LED bulbs for both the high and low beams in these headlights.
Do these actually project a good amount of light? Because the ones I ha e now are not stock and the guy before bought them and put them on and they do not project any sort of light.
The Axial Black Projector Headlights project a good amount of light, however, if you would like even superior lighting, we would highly recommend an upgraded bulb. We do carry the Sylvania Silverstar Light Bulbs, item 19109 and Hella High Performance 2.0 Bulbs, item 394210. http://www.americanmuscle.com/sylvania-silverstar-h3.html http://www.americanmuscle.com/hella-high-performance-2zero-h3-bulbs-pair.html
What is that big black rubber piece above the blinker area? can that be removed, sort of an eyesore?
The piece that is above the Axial Black Projector Headlights is weatherstripping. It cannot be removed.
what size are the halo's? 80 mm, 100 mm, etc?
The halos will be 75mm.
Are head lights in pairs ?
Yes, this kit will include the driver and passenger side headlights.
The Axial Black Projector Headlights were not designed to be used with HID's, so we would not be able to confirm which HID kits would fit and function properly.
The bulbs can be removed from the back of the housing.
The halos cannot be replaced.
The Axial Black Projector Headlights will work with any H3 halogen or LED bulb.
The black rubber piece is the weatherstripping and is not offered separately.
These headlights use H3 bulbs for high beams and low beams. Item 49157 by Raxiom is about on par with stock brightness when compared to the factory headlight setup, and would be a bit brighter than the bulbs supplied with this product. Item 394210 by Hella would be an excellent and very noticeable upgrade for this headlight kit.
Yes, you would need an H3 LED conversion kit to work with these housings.
Yes, this headlight does split the existing 9007 connector to two separate H3 bulbs.
Feel free to reach out directly to our customer service department if you are having a fitment issue with the headlights! We are available 7 days a week from 8:30AM EST to 11PM EST at 1-888-332-7930.
