    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, Stephanie with AmericanMuscle.com, here with my review of these black projector headlights for 1994 to '98 GT and V6 Mustangs. These headlights are going to be a good option for those guys out there that are looking to give their SN95 a very modern look with a set of one-piece, dual LED halo headlights. Headlights can have a big impact on the looks of a car, and I would say that these totally transform the SN95. You get the best of both worlds here since you have a black housing for stealthy style, but clear lenses so you can see even better at night. These are one-piece headlights that have black housings, clear lenses, and LED halos with accent lighting, so there's a lot going on here. This isn't just a plain upgraded headlight. This is a headlight that has the works when it comes to after-market headlight options. There's nothing else to add to these besides a side of fries, but I would say that these headlights definitely have a stealthy look to them and the black housing is to thank for that. The black housings give the LED accent lighting and the halo something to really stand out against, both during the day and at night. What's nice about these headlights though, is they have that clear lens, which means that you won't have any trouble seeing at night. You're actually going to have increased visibility at night since these are projector-style lights. And thanks to the LED lighting that these have, the projector lenses have a bright focused beam of light, and this is a different style of light than the standard halogen. And like I mentioned earlier, these headlights have dual halos that are LED-lit, and they have some LED accent lighting as well. The LED accent lighting consists of three LEDs that sit right here along the top of the headlights and they give the headlights and the car a very different look at night when they're lit. These headlights are DOT-approved and so they're legal for street use, and these are going to come with a set of H3 high and low-beam bulbs. Another thing that's going to make these headlights look different and like an upgrade over the factory headlights is the fact that these are one piece. All headlights are one piece anymore, and these make the SN95 look like it should have come from factory with a one-piece. They look much better than a three-piece light on these cars, at least in my opinion. As far as price, these headlights are what I'm going to call fully loaded and as such, they are going to be on the more expensive side of all the headlight offerings on the site. They are not the most expensive option, but they do cost just over $150. If that's a little bit expensive for you, there are some options on the site that are less expensive. When it comes to the install, you can expect to spend about an hour and I'm going to call this a one out of three wrenches on the scale, even though there is some wiring. But the headlights do come with some quick splice connectors to help you out with this part. You're going to need some basic hand and wiring tools to get this done, but nothing out of the ordinary. There isn't a whole lot to do to get headlights into an SN95, just some tabs and some bolts to undo, so it doesn't get much easier. Once the old headlights are out, you can install the new lights and wire them in. And keep in mind that you might have to aim these after the install if you want the best view at night, but the adjustment process isn't difficult. Wrapping this up, these black projector headlights have dual LED halos and LED accent lighting as well. They are a projector-style, one-piece headlight with black housing for stealthy look, and they can add a little style by themselves, or they can help to complete a whole smoked package. You can check these out more online for yourself and for all things Mustang, keep it right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

Do these actually project a good amount of light? Because the ones I ha e now are not stock and the guy before bought them and put them on and they do not project any sort of light.

        • The Axial Black Projector Headlights project a good amount of light, however, if you would like even superior lighting, we would highly recommend an upgraded bulb. We do carry the Sylvania Silverstar Light Bulbs, item 19109 and Hella High Performance 2.0 Bulbs, item 394210. http://www.americanmuscle.com/sylvania-silverstar-h3.html http://www.americanmuscle.com/hella-high-performance-2zero-h3-bulbs-pair.html

            LED Halo headlights

They look really nice, just what I needed to update the look of my 1996 GT. Only thing I don't like is the foam piece that is meant to fill the gap between the top of the light and the quarter panels. I might cut it off and find something else to fill the gap if I don't decide that the gap looks fine without anything in it.

            Looks and works great, BUT

This product is worth a 5 star rating if it were not for the extremely bad installation instructions. Simply put the product did not fit without some major alterations. Of course all the instructions and videos give you the impression it is 'plug and play' - do not believe it. I got very frustrated and was about to give up then I called my son who is a mechanic. Out came the cutting equipment. Just one example- Why do the instructions say splice into the running light wire? Do you know the color of the running light wire? Why not just say brown wire. Should you have to go on the internet for a wiring diagram? It would be so easy to provide good instructions. Am I glad I bought it - yes I am. Looks great and improves driving experience at night - you can actually see stuff.

            Great looking

The lights look great. Installed just like the stock ones except for the turn signals. You need to trim the black housing on the car or they don't slide right in. The lighting at night is not what I was expecting. Its a very dim light at best and the high beam is useless.

They were easy to install however they did not sit in the mounting holes on my Mustang correctly. I had to goto the hardware store and engineer up my own way to keep them from falling out.

Not as easy as described, but do-able.

They look really sharp. Wiring was cake thanks to parts included. Getting the mounting bolts seated and tightened down and aiming the lights was a little more difficult than described. I ended up having to take two of the six plastic bushings off of the old removed headlights and replace ones on the new headlights because they broke and were just spinning in place when I tried to tighten them down. But the fact that the bushings were the same on the factory headlights really helped cut down on the headache.

            Overall Pretty Happy

The headlights look great and provide a lot of light. Downsides, they don't like to move with the adjustment screws, also the turn signal wires make it almost impossible to push the light all the way in. I did end up getting them to fit. Overall pretty impressed with the lights though.

Overall good look. However, they do not fit fully into the old headlight space. There will be gaps. There is a piece of black weather stripping on top that only goes over to the start of the hood. It looks out of place. Beware thesae are not plug and play you have to wire them.

I love them but they are a little small for the 1994 mustang, I can see at night now compared to my stock ones. Luckily though these were not as obnoxiously bright.

            Worth the money!

The headlights definitely give your sn95 a different and more vibrant look. The only problems with these headlights were the installation instructions and the black rubber piece on the top of the headlights. The instructions were very vivid, and it took a few hours to install. The rubber piece on the top doesn’t seem to match the look of the headlights at all, it seems like it was just poorly glued on and it doesn’t seem to sit right on the headlight. Overall I am very happy with my purchase.
