INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS
1. Lift and support vehicle on a solid surface. Keep the vehicle weight on the suspension as it would be the ground. A drive-on lift is best but careful use of wheel stands or jack stands work well.
2. Unbolt rack and pinion from the frame.
3. Remove the four rear k-member bolts from the chassis.
4. Slip the QA1 k-member brace into place with the forward extensions above the k-member and aligned to with the bolt holes for the rack and pinion.
5. Replace the OEM rack and pinion bolts through the rack and pinion, k-member, and the k-member brace with the bolts going from front of the vehicle to the rear of the vehicle. The nuts for the rack and pinion should be against the k-member brace. Leave the nuts loose at this time, use Blue Loctite'" on the threads.
6. Install the supplied k-member bolts and washers using Blue Loctite'" on the threads. Torque all hardware to factory specifications.
7. Drive the vehicle and check the torque of all the mounting hardware. Some creaking and popping will be normal for a short time until all the pieces settle into place and after a re-torque on a regular basis it should go away.
Note: To further upgrade your suspension, use other QA1 suspension products such as coil overs, shocks, struts, springs, torque arms, panhard rods, subframe connectors, strut tower braces, rod ends, spherical bearings, etc. For more information, go to our website at WWW.QA1NET
