Whats the diffrence between these and the redline tuning quicklift elite hood struts?

    StangManWes

    • Elite is Polished Stainless Steel for a chrome look with Redline Tuning painted on side of tube in red and black, hardware is black powder-coated QuickLift is Black with Redline Tuning painted on side of tube in red and white with Silver Zinc-plated hardware (Hardware Looks Like Stainless Steel) To be honest I liked the look of the black tube with red/white lettering better and is what I purchased (QuickLift) and the price is much more reasonable at $70 as opposed to $120 (Elite) My QuickLift is a quality product, looks great and works as advertised.

      No more propping the hood...

This is a great improvement on any Mustang. No more rods in the way. Opens and raises with one hand. Drops and latches perfectly. Installed in about 20 minutes. Only one recommendation. Space the fender mounts about an extra 1/8" of an inch from fender for easier installation. Highly recommended...and good price!

      Nice n Easy

It is a great up grade, getting rid of that ugly prop rod really cleans up the under hood of any mustang ride..Hood actually is open about 10 more than with the old clunky rod.

      Redline Tuning Strut Kit

The kit was easy to install with the correct drill bits. Make sure to use new or fairly new sharp bits. The provided installation instructions are well written and provide a lot of detail.

      Perfect fit

Perfect fit even with a aftermarket hood.. I have a champion hood and they are not built very good they take a lot of work to make right and these hood struts fit perfect and love how easy they work and how smooth.. if you have a foxbody these are a must get rid of the dumb hood prob it's always in the way anyway....

      Redline Hood Strut conversion.

I was able to use the struts on my 1983 Thunderbird Turbo Coupe. When adding an intercooler I was unable to mount the stock hood prop. It was a blessing in disguise as I found the 1979 to 1998 Mustang Redline Hood Struts at American Muscle. It was fairly simple to adapt them to the Thunderbird and they work great.

      The prop rod is dead

This product is so cool. The prop rod is no longer an issue when working on the car. The installation, although not bolt-on by any measure, it is still very easy if you take your time and measure twice and drill once. Hint, with no drill guide to keep from drilling thru the hood, use a deep socket over the bit, worked great.

fits great with Maximum Motorsport Caster / Camber Plates

I purchased these after the MRT hood strut kit would not clear my Maximum Motorsport caster / camber plates. I was a little hesitant with this kit as you need to drill into your hood to secure it. I have a Cervini hood, and these hoods struts fit pretty good. The only issue you might have is when you close the hood, there is a slight clearance issue with a fender bolt on each side of the car. My drivers' side fit well, but I ended up removing the passenger side so that everything would close properly. I am going to get a carriage bolt with the rounded head to replace the fender bolt on each side of the car. Other than that the brackets mount very securely with the included rivets. Great product overall.
