Are you able to drive in the rain with this kit or does the filter get wet ? is there any protection to stop rain water from getting into the intake?

      • You will be able to drive in the rain with the Cervini's Functional Ram Air Kit for Ram Air Hood installed yes. Enough water would not be able to get inside to affect the car unless spraying directly into the vents.

Will it work with a K&N? I just want the hood for the looks. and im not too sure if i could get it or not with my CAI

      • This product is actually the functional ram air kit for the hood and not the hood itself. I don't want you to purchase this by mistake thinking it's the hood. To answer your question, yes - you can purchase the Cervini's Ram Air Hood and use it in combination with your K&N CAI. I've attached the link below for the hood as well. Hope this helps!

Ram Air Kit vs. CAI As far as performance is concerned, would you get more response from this or a cold air intake? Is it worth changing out the CAI back to the stock air box and installing this? I'm pretty happy with what the CAI provides

      • The ram air kit itself is actually molded air diction in the hood that routes air to the stock air box location. The benefits that are actually seen are very minimal. This is because it is merely moving air to the stock location, not actually forcing it in to the intake. You would see a lot more power from an intake and tune than you would from this ram air kit. Remember this kit is the plastic air duct only, not the hood and air duct.

Do it only works whith the factory air intake Does the ram kit only works whith tha factory air intake

      • from what i have looked into it seems like it only works with the factory air box. Technical Note. Intended for use with stock factory air box. Will not function as a sealed Ram Air with a CAI installed

Would this kit work with the radiator extension covers? And what air intake systems will fit properly while working the correct way?

      • The radiator extension on the driver's side will not be used with this kit as they cover part of the same area, right behind the head light.

          Ram Air Kit

My dad and I installed the ram air kit on my 2006 v6 in a few hours. The parts are really high quality, though, as amazing as the hood itself fits, the functional part is a little off, but still a good part. Install will take a few tools not everyone has, so keep that in mind if you are doing this yourself. It requires cutting the factory air box and modifying it a little. The most difficult part is getting the ductwork to line up right under the hood, and this might take a few tries (as mentioned, heat helps a lot). We had to improvise a little because the fit wasn't perfect, so I recommend using some foam tape and skipping the weak double sided stuff they send. We layered 20lb tape and a foam seal and it helped fill the gap and actually attached it permanently to the hood. It does breathe a lot better, from basically doubling the intake hole in the box and pulling cool air from outside the engine bay, and is a little more responsive. At higher speeds, the ram air does help reduce the lag, so after 45 it gets a little more power. We're putting in a higher quality filter in when my current one goes bad, so I would suggest the same. One last note, the increase in airflow does change the exhaust note, and on mine It was a little higher and louder (increased idle speed, though the computer is learning it and re-adjusting). It might take some tweaking to re-tune your exhaust if you're really picky. But overall, so far I love it! Oh and I left it the stock black instead of painting. Just paint the bolt that holds the ABS and box on (under the billet grill) satin black and you're good!

          Great addition

This kit fits and works great with my 2009 V6. It was installed in a body shop but from my understanding, it did'nt take long to install.

          awesome unit

Easy to install, easy to understand directions. Ram air part needs to be warm to install helps to bend to contour of hood. Leave dry time scheduled before you drive. Love the throttle response and sound!!

Needs a stock intake box. Wont fit with after market CAI

5 Star service to American Muscle for returning my product and reimbursing the money back to me without any complications. I couldn't get this to FIT WITH MY AFTERMARKET CAI so i had to send it back. The Intake is made of hard plastic and didn't look to bad. If i didn't have my aftermarket CAI the ram air kit would be installed with my Cervini Ram Air hood right now. I will still keep shopping with American Muscle just hope they put this in the description next time.

          • Response from AmericanMuscle

Sorry that this Ram Air kit didn't work in combination with your Ram Air Hood. Now that you have brought this to our attention, I will have this added as a fitment exception to the site and notify our customer service reps so it won't happen again. We'll always gladly take a product page for fitment issues that we didn't already have listed on our website!

          Cervini's Ram Air Kit

I like the way Cervini incorporates the intake duct to look factory very nice fit and finish. The hood duct looks great as well. The instructions said to paint but mine came black and I liked it that way. as far as function goes the car seems to breath a lot better at higher speeds. Install was a breeze if you have a cutting tool and a drill. took about 45 minutes with some help. Cervini did not send enough 2 sided tape to do the upper duct so make sure you have extra on hand. Great product nicely thought out.
