How to Install RTR Tactical Performance Adjustable Sway Bar - Front on your Mustang

FACTORY FRONT BAR REMOVAL

1. Raise the vehicle off the ground and support it with the appropriate safety stands. Note: Never work underneath a vehicle that is not safely supported with the correct safety equipment.


2. Loosen and remove the nuts that secure the end links to both ends of the OE anti roll bar as shown. (See Photo 1)


3. Disconnectt the mass air sensor electrical connection as shown. Note: removal of the factory air cleaner is necessary to gain access to the bushing bracket hardware. (See Photo 2)


4. Unclip the mass air electrical connection from the side of the air cleaner. (See Photo 3)


5. Disconnect the resonator hose as shown. (See Photo 4)


6. Loosen and remove the bolt that secures the air cleaner to the inner fender. (See Photos 3 & 4)


7. Loosen the hose clamp that secures the throttle body inlet hose to the air cleaner. (See Photo 6)


8. Pull firmly upwards to remove the air cleaner from the vehicle (See Photo 7)



9. Photo 9 Loosen and remove the hardware that secures the driver side bushing bracket to the subframe, then, remove the bracket. Note: One of the bolts can be accessed from the inner fender well and the other can be accessed through the engine compartment just below the air cleaner. (See Photos 8 & 9)



10. Loosen and remove the hardware that secures the passenger side bushing bracket to the subframe, this can be accessed from inside the engine compartment (See Photos 10 & 11)




11. Turn the steering wheel to the left, then, slide the bar out towards the passenger side as shown. It may help to have a second person push the bar towards the passenger side, while the other person pulls from the passenger side. Note: Be sure to note the orientation of the OE bar, as the RTR bar will be installed in the same orientation. (See Photo 12, 13, & 14)




1, Install the RTR bar from the passenger side in the reverse of the removal of the OE bar. Note: Leave the plastic wrapper on the bar to keep the bar from being scratched during the install. It can be removed once it's located into the chassis. (See Photos 15, 16, & 17)



2. Lube the provided bushing with the supplied lubricant, then, install the bushings onto the bar as shown. (See Photos 18 & 19)



3. Install the provided brackets and secure with the OE hardware as shown. (See Photos 20 & 21)



4. Secure the end links to the ends of the RTR anti roll bar using the OE hardware (See Photos 22, & 23)


5. Double check to make sure everything is properly tightened and positioned, then, you can reinstall the air cleaner assembly and reconnect the mass air sensor electrical connection in the reverse order of removal.

Tuning the Front Bar.

FRONT

a) Full Rear / Softest Setting.

Reduces under-steer

Use in rain or on slick roads.

Use on rough or bumpy roads.

Increases comfort.

b) Mid Setting / Street Performance Setting.

Tuning out under or over-steer.

For normal driving conditions.

Dry street driving.

Use with additional trunk weight.

c) Full Forward / Firmest Setting.

Reduces over-steer

Use on dry roads and tracks.

Use on smooth roads and tracks.

Do not use on wet or slick roads.
