Simple installation for anyone.
Equipment and supplies required: isopropyl alcohol, pliers, drill, quarter-inch drill bit, Phillips screw driver, soft lint-free cloth, electrical tape. With an assistant, hold the left rocker splitter in position and visually know where the foam tape is to adhere to the factory Rocker Panel Molding. Remove the rocker splitter. Clean the noted area and apply the 3M Adhesion Promoter to the factory Rocker Panel Molding. Using a pair of pliers, reach into the Rocker Panel Molding pockets as shown and pull the eight push pins from the left side of the Rocker Panel Molding and discard. The Rocker Panel Molding will remain in place with the upper fasteners retaining it to the body. Prepare the rocker splitter for installation by bending, increasing the tape pull tabs. Do not expose or touch the foam tape. Loosely install the left side rocker splitter and eight new push pins. Ensure that the foam tape pull tabs are accessible. Press the push pins in leaving an eighth-inch to quarter-inch gap. Starting at the front and ensuring that the factory Rocker Panel Molding is nested into the recess feature in the rocker splitter, fully insert the eight push pins. The handle of the screw driver works well to fully press the push pins in. Pull the four-tape pull tabs to remove the tape backing. Press the left side rocker splitter into place. Apply firm pressure at three to four-inch intervals along the entire length of the rocker splitter to ensure a strong bond. Using the installed left side rocker splitter as a template, drill five quarter-inch holes into the factory Rocker Panel Molding. Lay several wraps of electrical tape one inch from the tip of the drill bit to act as a drill stop. Install a new push pin into each of the five drilled holes.

RTR IS THE WAY TO GO!
I put the RTR side splitter, chin spoiler, and rear diffuser on my 2012 mustang and it sure has turned some heads. It gives the appearance of the car being lowered and will also prevent air from going underneath your car. .Helpful (6)

RTR, CDC, and Roush all have identical looking splitters on your site. Are there any notable differences? Width? Matte/gloss finish? Ease of mounting? How should one choose between them (as they are all the same price)?
The RTR, CDC, and Roush side splitters are all the same width with the same finish and manner of installation. The difference comes down to brand and warranty. While the CDC option has a limited lifetime warranty, neither the RTR or Roush option offers a warranty on the item.
Are these any lower to the ground than the stock panels?
The RTR Side Splitters will install below the OEM Rocker panels, lowering ground clearance by around 1/2" to 3/4"
is there any drilling involved
Yes, you will need to drill holes for the push pins to attach through.
What is the difference between these and the Roush side rocker panel splitters (69406)?
Nothing, buy the roush and save 37.00.
Will the RTR splitters fit the 05-09 like the CDC do?
These will not fit 05-09 models.
While we unfortunately do not offer these in a pre-painted option, with the correct prime and preparation, these are able to be painted. We recommend consulting with a local body shop for different options.
The 3m double sided tape for the RTR Side Splitters should be applied at moderate temperatures between 59 Fahrenheit and 95 Fahrenheit, lower temperatures might lead to insufficient “wetting” (coverage) of the adhesive on the substrate. Extremely high temperatures might cause the tape to stretch when being applied, which could create additional stress in the final application.
