Please Note:

This installation was completed using SR Performance Coil On Plug Kit, but the installation instructions can be applied to any brand coil on plug kit.

Steps:

1) Locate and identify stock coil on plugs and remove any strut tower braces or covers that might be in the way.

Note: Passenger side Coil On Plugs shown:

2) Before removing any electrical connections, take time to clean the engine area around the coil on plugs.

a. This will help prevent dirt and grime from entering into any electrical connections and more importantly, the area around the spark plugs and combustion chamber.

b. This operation can be done with either a shop vacuum, an air compressor or through a complete engine wash depending on the amount of dirt and grime present.

3) Once the engine area has been cleaned, disconnect all electrical connections.

a. This includes all coil on plug and fuel injector connections.

NOTE: Removing the fuel injector connections is not required but is recommended to allow for more space to work.

4) Take your ratchet and 7mm socket and remove all (8) 7mm hex head bolts that hold down the coil on plugs to the engine. If you do not have a 7mm socket, a 9/32’’ socket will also work. Put these aside in a safe place as you will be reinstalling them with the new plugs.

5) With all bolts removed, firmly grasp each coil on plug at the base of the plug and pull it from the engine.

a. If the plug seems stuck, wiggle it slightly being careful not to damage the stock coil on plug and remove from the engine.

6) With all plugs removed from the vehicle take your new SR Performance plugs and push them down over the spark plug in the same orientation as the stock coil on plugs.

NOTE: Do not press too hard down on the plug when installing the new coil on plugs; they will be properly seated over the spark plugs when the hex head bolts are reinstalled.

7) Reinstall all (8) 5/32’’ hex head bolts to be hand tight. Do not over tighten hex head bolts.

8) Reconnect all electrical connections

9) The installation is complete and you can start driving your car immediately! Good Job!
