Review & Install Video

The SR performance sway bar kit is going to be a good option for someone that's looking for an adjustable tubular front end rear sway bar kit. These sway bars are triple adjustable, so they're going to get some handling options depending on how you install them. The install here is going to be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and you can expect to spend two hours getting this done. Sway bars have a big impact on the handling of any Mustang, and so they tend to be one of most cost-effective handling upgrades. Provide a lot of benefits such as less body roll for better all-around handling, and they aren't as expensive as other suspension mods. So sway bar kits like this one here have a positive impact on all-around handling performance with one single purchase. There are a few things that affect how much of an impact a sway bar has. One factor that's gonna affect how well a sway bar works is the geometry of the bar. By the geometry the bar, I mean that the sway bar has bends in different angles in it, but the key is going to be the length of lever arm, which is right here. Both of these bars are three-way adjustable, so you can see that you have three options here for your install. And having these bars be three-way adjustable, it means that you're gonna to have a longer lever arm. When you look at the length of the lever arm, the shorter the lever arm is, the greater the torque and the more force that the bar will have. This is what you're adjusting when you're moving around between the points of an adjustable bar. The amount of force an torque that will be applied to that outside control arm, in order to decompress the outside suspension. You have three different options you're going to go to install, depending on what kind of performance you're looking for from these bars. So just know that if you're hanging out here at the end of the lever arm, you're creating a softer setup. The thickness of the bar and its composition are gonna play a big role in the effectiveness of the bars. And these bars are tubular bars, which means that they're gonna be strong but also lightweight at the same time, especially when you compare them to solid bars. Both of these bars are upgrades over the factory bars when you look at thickness. The front bar is is 36 millimeter and the rear bar is 25 millimeter. These are also powder coated, so they're going to have corrosion resistance as well. The bushing is another thing that's gonna affect the sway bar. These bars come with rear end links and polyurethane bushings, which is gonna be a good option for a street car. Poly bushings are more rigid than the factory soft rubber bushings, but they aren't too rigid to stop all movement. The more rigid the bushings are, the more rigid the bars will be. This will not be allowed to move as much. These bushings are also easy to maintain, which means they can keep grease in them over time, which will keep down on the noise, and keep up on the life of the bushings. As far as price, you're looking at spending $450 and $500 for this kit, which is relatively close to the other options on the site, but a little bit more expensive. The other options on the site do you have different materials or different adjustability, or different thicknesses, so just know that some of the less expensive options might not have the same features or offer as much adjustability. The install for these sway bars is not difficult at all, and you're looking at spending about two hours to get it done, and one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You need a handful of different tools but nothing crazy. And as usual, a lift would really help here, but the job can be done on jack stands if you don't have access to one. I would recommend greasing any new bushings well prior to the install, since waiting until after everything is installed will make that process much more difficult. And grease the bushings as much as possible, since poly bushings can be a little bit noisy after a short period of time. Now, your old sway bars are gonna need to be removed, but that's just a few bolts. You can disconnect the sway bar from the end links, but make sure to note the orientation of the OE bar, since a new bar will be installed in the same orientation. Once the old bars are out, you can prep the new bars. You wanna figure out which setting that you wanna install them on, and place your end link in the appropriate location. Your bushings will also need to be installed on the new bars, before they'll be ready to be bolted right back up to the car and torque down to spec. I see that other brands can be greased/ serviced, and these cannot. I am looking for a squeak less/quiet product. Will these bushings create noise or should I get a product with serviceable bushings?

      • The SR Performance Adjustable Front & Rear Sway Bars feature polyurethane bushings which tend to be slightly noisier over rubber bushings. If this is a concern, I suggest going with serviceable bushings.

      • Hello! The bolt holes near the ends of the swaybars will be the stiffest ride, and it will get softer as you adjust inwards. However, the swaybars should be adjusted according to your alignment, and other suspension parts.

          Horrible fitment

the rear sway bar was the first one I tried to install and it took so much longer to do due to trying to get the driver side part on. the bracket from the panhard bar gets in the way of it so its almost impossible to put it on the stiffest setting. I have mine on the medium setting. also the lower control arm on the driver side was a serious pain to install sometimes it still comes off thanks to the bar falling off. the front wasn't nearly as difficult but it did take longer due to me being stubborn and not wanting to take certain things off. both bars are currently on the medium setting and I can't say that I feel that much of a difference, I'd try the 3rd one but that's next to impossible to get to thanks to fitment

          Nice Bars

First off they took over a week to receive them, like ten days. That does not seem right in this day and age--but life goes on. The bars them selves went on quite easily and do keep the car a lot more level when cornering. Seems like a lot of money for whats there. Never the less a good product from an awesome company,Thanks AM. JimWoj

SR Performance Adjustable F R Sway Bars 11-14 All

Let me explain what I drive and what I've already done previously to the suspension. I drive a 2012 GT Premium (non-“Track Pack,” which has a smaller rear sway bar than “Track Pack” GT). I have Ford Performance K-Springs (1.5" lower front and rear) with original struts and shocks, and the gloss black 18x9 American Muscle Saleen rims (1” wider and 30mm offset instead of OEM 40mm offset on 18x8 rims) with nearly-worn-out Good Year Eagle Sport A/S tires (235/50R18). The SR Performance adjustable sway bars kit is a great upgrade from stock sway bars because the kit provides 3 levels of adjustability for body roll. If you like the idea of having a car that can be supple and forgiving over uneven ground, yet allows adjustability for carving twisty roads with confidence, this kit is the answer. Before describing the three settings on the sway bars, I want to highlight the rear sway bar links (included in the kit). The rears are substantially sturdier than the pencil-like stock links. The miniscule stock rear sway bar links have too much flex, allowing wheel hop and augmenting body roll. In simple terms, they make the rear feel loose and fragile. I’m glad SR Performance includes front links and drastically superior rear sway bar links in the kit. They enhance the performance of the sway bars. For the sway bars, the softest setting, which I refer to as Setting 1, is suppler than stock sway bars. This means Setting 1 allows a bit more body roll, but the overall feel is more solid because of the new and sturdy rear links. Setting 2 is has marginally less body roll than stock and also feels much more solid. Setting 3 is my favorite because it keeps the car much flatter on corners. The ride quality is slightly stiffer, yet much more solid, which is what I sought. An important thing to note is that, with the car at Setting 3, you’ll quickly learn how good your tires may or may not be. Again, if you want to improve the feel and handling of your Mustang, try this kit before spending more money on shocks and struts. You might find shocks and struts unnecessary after installing this kit.

Wicked easy install both front and rear. Basic hand tools all you need. Car stays nicely planted in corners now at speed. Great improvement over stock components.

          Roll free

I have a 2014 V6 race red 'Stang with front strut support, 18 X 8 wheels and Toyo T1's so it handle pretty good, but had that mustang roll so I got the SR Performance sway bars. I painted my sway bars red (masked the part number so it's still there) to match the race red paint. The rear took me about 2 hrs. to install with an extra hour thrown in looking at pictures online trying to be sure the orientation was correct. The instructions were written OK, but the pictures had that 'been copied 10,000 times on a bad copier' look. They look great! The front took about an hour and a half plus an extra hour to go buy a 15 mm deep socket, you'll need it for the front bracket nuts because the bolts are ridiculously long. They look great, too. I have them both set to the stiffer setting and it corners like it's on rails, virtually no roll at all. Took it on a 500 mile road trip through the coastal mountains of Cali and it was awesome! Only two complaints, on rougher roads like washboard might have to dial the settings back a notch for traction and it doesn't come with new end links for the front like the back does, so it would be nice if it mentioned that on the website with the additional part and price referenced. Lowering springs next!

          Sway bars

I installed these sway bars along with coilovers control arms and panhard bar. I must say with all of those mods the car is on rails! These sway bars have 4 different stiffness settings. No more body roll!

This product is just as good as any other brand. I noticed the small amount of reviews this product has and it made me a bit doubtful compared to other sway bar kits such as the ones Eibach makes, that have more than plenty of great reviews. This kit is also always selling out when its on sale which says people just dont review! However, this product is GREAT! night and day difference. I can take on turns/curves at much higher speeds and much sharper without feeling like the car is about to flip or lose control. A must have for suspension! I have a Go Kart now.

Really tightened the handle up. These sway bars eliminated most of the lean on the curvy mountain roads and it feels like I'm driving a go cart now.

          Solid Investment

Installed the SR Performance Sway Bar Kit in my 2012 GT Mustang and I could feel the difference immediately on cornering! Mustang felt more planted to the ground and the road was more solid into turns! I love driving my mustang on the weekend as this isn't my daily driver - but now I really enjoy my weekend toy with the handling of this install. I have purchased $$ from AM and this was a great purchase that I'm glad I spent the monies! Nice Job American Muscle! This is why I keep coming back to purchase more!

Easy to install. Easy to set up. My suspension is firm and my car handles better in corners. I am definitely recommending this kit to all of my fellow mustang drivers!
