SR Performance Adjustable F R Sway Bars 11-14 All
Let me explain what I drive and what I've already done previously to the suspension. I drive a 2012 GT Premium (non-“Track Pack,” which has a smaller rear sway bar than “Track Pack” GT). I have Ford Performance K-Springs (1.5" lower front and rear) with original struts and shocks, and the gloss black 18x9 American Muscle Saleen rims (1” wider and 30mm offset instead of OEM 40mm offset on 18x8 rims) with nearly-worn-out Good Year Eagle Sport A/S tires (235/50R18).
The SR Performance adjustable sway bars kit is a great upgrade from stock sway bars because the kit provides 3 levels of adjustability for body roll. If you like the idea of having a car that can be supple and forgiving over uneven ground, yet allows adjustability for carving twisty roads with confidence, this kit is the answer.
Before describing the three settings on the sway bars, I want to highlight the rear sway bar links (included in the kit). The rears are substantially sturdier than the pencil-like stock links. The miniscule stock rear sway bar links have too much flex, allowing wheel hop and augmenting body roll. In simple terms, they make the rear feel loose and fragile. I’m glad SR Performance includes front links and drastically superior rear sway bar links in the kit. They enhance the performance of the sway bars.
For the sway bars, the softest setting, which I refer to as Setting 1, is suppler than stock sway bars. This means Setting 1 allows a bit more body roll, but the overall feel is more solid because of the new and sturdy rear links.
Setting 2 is has marginally less body roll than stock and also feels much more solid.
Setting 3 is my favorite because it keeps the car much flatter on corners. The ride quality is slightly stiffer, yet much more solid, which is what I sought. An important thing to note is that, with the car at Setting 3, you’ll quickly learn how good your tires may or may not be.
Again, if you want to improve the feel and handling of your Mustang, try this kit before spending more money on shocks and struts. You might find shocks and struts unnecessary after installing this kit.
