Improves Handling. Lower your Mustang's center of gravity, by installing a set of Steeda Ultralite Springs which will reduce squat during acceleration, body roll in the corners, and excessive nose-dive under hard braking. Steeda Ultralite Springs are great for daily driving, street, and even occasional track use.

Aggressive Lowered Stance. Not only does a set of Steeda Ultralite Springs improve the handling performance of your Mustang, but they also improve its overall appearance by lowering the ride height approximately 1.25" front and 1.5" rear to eliminate that ugly "4x4" tire to fender gap, for a more aggressive street stance.

Clears Stock and Aftermarket Wheels & Tires. These lowering springs were engineered to be compatible with your factory size wheels and tires, as well as AmericanMuscle’s pre-configured wheel and tire combo kits (specific to your generation), to assure proper clearance with no rubbing issues.

Application. This set of four Steeda Ultralite Lowering Springs are designed for use on the 2005 to 2014 Coupe and Convertible Mustangs, including the V6, GT, and Bullitt models. Does not fit Shelby GT500.

Note: Coupon codes cannot be applied to this product.

Technical Note. For convertible models, it's recommended that the bump stops be either trimmed or cut in half for proper fitment.

The steeda website has this note on their website: Note: Not for use on 2011 newer V6 Mustang, due to lighter front end. But the AM description says they work with the v6. Please advise.

  • The Steeda Ultralite Lowering Springs can be used on 11+ however the amount the front end is lowered will be less than the estimated drop.

Will these springs be a problem for long tube headers as far as scraping?

  • Typically, you would be okay with scraping until you get around a 2 inch drop, then you will want to be more cautious going over bumps and such.

Is the estimated drop height based on factory dampers? Would the estimated drop height be different if I upgrade to koni str.t dampers?

  • The drop height of these springs shouldn't be affected by the shocks and struts on your Mustang.

Is there a different drop height for the v6 vs v8 like the eibachs? I saw on another site a 1" front drop and 1.25" rear drop for the v6.

  • There is not a drop difference with the V6 Mustangs, the drop would still be 1.25" up front and 1.5" in the rear.

I am currently running a 255/35r20 in the front and 285/30r20 in the rear, will there be any issues with clearance for this wheel set up?

  • You will not run into any clearance issues with the Steeda Ultralite Springs on your set up.

Are the Ultralites compatible with the Stock Struts/Shocks? Would like to lower 2012 GT for appearance purposes. Tires 275 35 19 and wheels 9.5. Currently 3" rear and 2" front gap. Would using the Ultralites require new Struts/Shocks for a safe ride? 1 answer
Panhard and CC Plates? I've been looking at springs forever and since I don't plan to take my car to the track very often if at all I've narrowed my search down to these springs and the Eibach sportlines (drop 1.1 front and 1.7 back). Would I need a panhard bar and caster plates (Or maybe just the bolts?) for these? I'm not looking to have my $400 Pirellis eaten up any sooner than necessary.. 3 answers

    Great Look, Comfortable Ride

The lighter weight is a plus but I mostly like the lower spring rate, comfortable ride and Steeda quality.

    Perfect height!

These springs should’ve came stock on the 5.0’s! The perfect drop IMO! Don’t have to worry about speed bumps and pot holes but got rid of the 4x4 look!

    2011 GT

I bought these because I lowered the car and the Shop where I had them installed recomended doing this because the stock system has vertually no adjustment for lowered Stangs. Glad I did! Alignment was easy and dead on. Why waste labor doing this job twice? Thers is plenty of adjustment when I want to go to the track for maximum handling.

Steeda ultralite on vortec 2012 gt

I had the been no package with stiff springs and expected a stiffer ride after lowering but I couldn't have been more wrong. The progressive nature of these springs are spot on for my car. Stiff when I need them and a joy to cruise on. They made a world of difference and even helped traction. Oddly enough it made my driveline more quiet and smoothed shifting. Geometry must have been off from the factory. *you will most likely need an adjustable panhard bar as your rear WILL shift to the driver side so unless you're already favoring the passenger side you will need it*

    Steeda vs Eibach Springs

Much better ride with the Steeda springs while still lowering the car enough to look good. Eibach slammed it to the ground, but on a 2000 mile vacation, the ride was so rough that my wife said never again! Since it is a "Grand Touring" Mustang and I love to take it on trips, I "fixed' it. Eibach's are great for car shows, local driving, or racing, but not for everyday use. Combined with the 275/35x19 Nitto's all around, it is a stiff ride!

    Mild, but effective.

These springs didn't have the most aggressive drop available, but it was an appropriate amount to correct the factory rake.

    Great for the street

Car rides like stock with these and gives a significant drop. If you're not road racing your car these are perfect. My only gripe would be the front sits lower than the rear. I would like it even. But that's also how these cars sit

    Best Choice

The Steeda Ultra light springs are awesome. Lowered the car to the perfect height, without sacrificing ride quality. I love the new stance of my ride. Lose that 4x4 gap and invest in a pair of these springs.

New springs brought life back to my ride!

I had these springs installed during a suspension upgrade. They lowered the Mustang around 1 1/2" and what a difference in the ride. More solid, stable and I am a daily driver. Nice look and great price!

My 4 x 4 Stang is no more, that makes me happy! Ride is pretty level I just got this done today and it even appears lower in the rear at least tire to gender gap but I am pretty pleased since quality has not been lost, this is a Stang not Caddilac.

    Completion of the Suspension Work

I had my local speed shop install the Steeda Ultralite Springs Kit, Steeda Adjustable Panhard Bar and Eibach Pro-Alignment Camber Adjustment Bolts at the same time. They had no installation issues. They also performed a front end alignment which they said was easy with the Camber Adjustment Bolt though they may not have needed it. Better safe than sorry for me. I have noticed a ride improvement over original equipment springs. Bumps are not as jarring. These upgrades along with previous installs of AM suspension parts Eibach Anti-Roll Sway Bar Kit, Koni STR.T Front Struts and Rear Shocks and SR Performance Black Strut Tower Brace have given me the suspension I wanted for the street driving I do.

Good street ride, improved Auto-X performance

I purchased these springs along with the Eibach camber bolts, and the J & M panhard bar. I had the installation completed at a local speed shop and the time for install and a moderately aggressive alignment was about 5 hours total and the cost was minimal for everything to be installed, tested, and aligned. I retained the factory shocks since my 5.0 has only 17,000 miles on it and is not time for new shocks/struts...yet. I also have 18x9/10 GT500 (2010) rims with Nitto 245/45 & 275/40 and the "before install" appearance was that of a 4x4 but the "after install" made my car really looks like it should have originally arrived from the factory; lowered as advertised and a great improvement that even my wife liked and approved of! The ride quality on the street is very comfortable with only a small increase in jounce (probably due to retention of the stock shocks/struts) with far less nosedive on braking and less body roll. The improvement in cornering makes you a lot more confident in both you and your vehicle. At an auto-X is where you really feel a great improvement in all aspects of the operation of the suspension. The panhard bar made the rear align perfectly and the camber bolts weren't even needed, but better safe than sorry. A great improvement.
