    2016 GT

Great Produce as always with Steeda Parts - "BUT" it seems like Ford did not file off the tabs where the circle opening are. NOTE: 2016 owners will need to file off these little tabs with a Dremel tool in order to get the spacer in. Also I found out if you jack your car up only on one side, it will not line up, I was lucky enough to use my friend's car lift, where you can drive onto the ramps and lifts the car evenly. By doing that, the G-Trac Bar lines up perfectly Other than, It tighten up the Front end.

    ehhh

Not the biggest handling improvement modification I've done to the front end. It does make the car feel more connected though, just be ready to scrape every speed bump. Had to wrench it into place as well.

Like others had to tweek it to get it on

Like others said in reviews, I too had issues getting it to fit. My 2016 Mustang did not have the pre-installed (aka Ford welded in nuts) so had to use the spacers. Two times they fell off inside the cross member while attempting to get it on. Seems they should mill a recess in them so they are captured some. I ended up using spray can of truck bed liner to hold them on. The spacers go up inside the frame almost impossible to get it on by them only balanced there. Next step would have been super glue or epoxy to hold them there. I DID also have tabs inside the real frame that I had to finish snapping off. Which is where I already had truck bead coating out to spray up on the bare metal where these broke off. I installed at same time as the frame-jacking rails. both products should work but were lighter than I felt they should have been for real structural supports. Mustang is parked for winter so no idea on how they will help performance or cornering. M

    Steeda G-Trac

The G-Trac does work well once you have it on. I had several issues installing this on my 15 GT with the performance pack. 1) The metal sleeves that go in the frame where too tall, I had to grind them down to make them work. I also had the steel tabs in the frame I had to break off. 2) The G-Trac does not line up, I had to use a pry-bar with some force to get the front bolts in. The bolts do hang really low, I don't think I can lower my car now. 3) These are dropped shipped from Steeda so, AM has you call Steeda for help, I'm still waiting.

    Easy to install, works great!

This was simple to install. Everything lined right up. The spacers that go inside the frame were different than the ones pictured. They did not have the wire attached and were made of aluminum. Once all the bolts were installed, I torqued them to 60 lb-ft. Just be sure you have a 12mm hex head wrench before you get started. I had to run out and buy one in the middle of the installation. My car has the strut tower brace, so this brace probably isn't necessary, but I figured it wouldn't hurt either. I'm not sure I can feel much of a difference, but I'm sure the difference would be more dramatic on a car without the strut tower brace. Quality seems very good, as is expected with Steeda. Another minor complaint is that Steeda doesn't make all of their suspension components match. The k-member brace matches the jacking rails, but the rear subframe braces are painted silver and don't match at all. As I said, this is minor, since who's going to see the bottom of the car anyway?

So I bought this brace to put on to make up for the shortcoming I had to remove. Wow this thing worked great to stiffen up front feels like the upper strut brace is still there but it is not. Kind of a pain to install but took me a hour with jack and jack stands, If your mechanical inclined you can do it

    Check before purchase

The title says it all. Before you buy this piece, do yourself a favor and get your car in the air and check where you the brace would fit. I had no problems until I attempted to feed the bolt through the frame with the plastic holder. I am unaware if its a new thing through Ford for the '16 model, but they left the steel tags in from where they punched the holes into the frame from the factory. I am chopping this up to terrible luck, but on the off chance it isn't its better to be safe then sorry and double check.

    Works good

This brace fit perfect on my 2015 gt performance pack. It really stiffened up the front and helped with swaying. The only big issue i have is the the front two bolts hang so low. I have lowering springs and i bottom out on them all the time

    Works Great

In all this is a good purchase and a fairly fast installation. My brace did not quite line up in the front so took a lot of influence from a small pry bar to get in place. Also, the '16 Mustangs do not have the bolt in the front mount, so you are supposed to use provided spacers to take up extra bolt length on the top. Well, those don't quite fit until after you tighten it down, and then you would have to remove the provided lock nut then install the spacer. The problem here is that lock nuts are supposed to be used only once since they lose their locking power. Lastly, getting the spacer in the rear hole is a much larger chore than is shown in the videos. I don't know if this is a manufacturing difference between the '15 and '16 Mustang, or if Steeda quality has taken a bit of a dip. Would I recommend this? Yes, maybe. My main concerns are listed above, and I'm not sure what impact the additional stress on the welds from coaxing the front in place will have.

    Tightens things up

Installed over the weekend. My subframe didn't have the tabs but did have the nuts installed. One was not square and doubled the installation trying to get the bolt in. Once in torqued everyting down and was ready to drive. Feels much tighter up front now. No additional harshness out of the suspension.

    Subtle but positive improvement

This K-member brace provides a decent improvement to handling. It did not negatively impact the ride quality on my non-pp GT, which was my biggest concern. I expect the effect to be more significant when the strut tower brace is installed. As for installation, with a lift and a helping hand it was very straight forward. Ford did leave the blanks partially attached where the rear spacers go. Using a flat head screwdriver I moved them back and forth 2-3 times and they easily popped off at the narrowest point. Much easier and cleaner than using a dremel to cut it off. Like the instructions say, ford no longer puts the upper threaded portion for the forward bolts, however the kit came with additional spacers and nuts for the forward attachment points. I would recommend attaching the forward points first as the rear points have a little play. I tried attaching the rear first and see why people were using a pry bar. I removed the rear and attached the front and everything fit like a glove. Overall this is a simple installation for a benefit that racers and daily drivers alike can appreciate.

    good

Fit is perfect, 2 bolts in kit are way to short so had to come up with 3 bolts of my own. and the spacers with install sticks welded on had to be grinded down to fit inside frame channel.
