Reduce Body Flex. A Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace is a great and easy way to increase the chassis rigidity of your S197 Mustang to eliminate power robbing body flex and to improve handling performance.

Retains Rear Seats. Unlike other rear x-braces on the market today the Steeda Chassis X-Brace does not require removal of the rear seats for installation allowing you to still seat four passengers.

Quality Construction. Manufactured from 4130 chromoly steel for superior strength, this Steeda X-brace is completed in a black powder coated finish for impressive looks.

Bolt-in Design. The Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace bolts into location using existing factory mounting points with no cutting or modifications required for a straight forward installation. Can be welded into place if desired for additional strength.

Application. This Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace is designed to fit 2005 to 2014 Mustang Coupes, including the V6, GT, Bullitt, BOSS and Shelby GT500 models. Does not fit convertibles or vehicles equipped with Shaker/Mach 1000 stereo systems.

will rear shock tower brace work with this? could this be used in addition to the steeda rear shock tower brace?

      • Not without modification of the products - bad move to willingly void product liability....Besides, There isn't a need for the addition or use of the shock tower brace when using the Chassis X-Brace. However they both work well - one better than the other. The Steeda Chassis X-Brace attaches to the shocks and shares impact with the rear pan; and the x-y moments of deflection at the top of shock, to include impact are absorbed by the cross chassis bulkhead panel (top attachment) quite well. In the end you have a choice - pick one.... stiff , stiffer with design tolerance of shock bushing movement intact. X-Brace is definitely more ridged.

      • This brace should run no interference with the adjustable knobs on the shocks.

It says it won't fit vehicles that have the Shaker/Mach 1000 stereo systems...Is that for all Shaker systems ?

      • The Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace will not fit the Shaker 1000 stereo system because of the subwoofers. It will fit the Shaker 500 system.

Any benefit of running this with either the Steeda or SR Performance shock tower brace, or will the xbrace perform just as well on its own?

      • The Steeda Rear Chassis X-Brace will act as a beefier rear shock tower brace. This can be used with a shock tower brace, however that is not needed.

          Too easy

Took my son and I about 30 min to install. I bolted it up for now but I do plan on welding it in later. This with the subframe connectors make a huge difference in the corners.

          YOU CAN FEEL THE DIFFERENCE!!!

You can really feel how solid it is in the back with this X-Brace! The only thing that gave me a tough time was removing the bolts on the struts, I would recommend letting the soak with a little bit of WD40 first but besides that it was pretty easy. It took me about an hour to install with some help of a friend.

          X-Brace works

Nice product and does "feel" that it does the job. No track times to prove the brace improves the handling, but by the "feel" of the car under hard back-road driving the car does hook up better. Under hard acceleration you just sense the body has less twist and hooks up solid. Those upper bolts when attaching the brace to the frame are tough to get too! Had to use the "tape the nut to the wrench" method to reach the bolt --- if you drop the nut never going to reach it.

          Makes a Difference

You can tell the difference in steering response and how the car handles through rough corners. Makes the car feel much more refined and solid. This is an expensive brace, wish someone made a cheaper option but the level of improvement makes it worth paying the price.

          Works awesomely!!

It stiffens the cars where it really needs. The car is actually quieter too. The install was very easy. I used a stepped drill bit and was done in about 35 minutes. Upon driving, the first thing I noticed was how solid the car felt, even in mild cornering. In more agressive cornering, the added bracing let me rear suspension go to work and do its job. I was utterly amazed at the improvement. One week later, Im still amazed!!

did not fit my set up

if you have the shacker 1000 stereo with the subwoofer it will not work for you, it would have been nice to know that, also you have to drill into your car to mount. But other then those welds and metal heavy duty and ready for bashing.

Simple install, big improvement in stiffness

I installed this on my 2012 Boss 302. This was a simple install. I did not need to jack up the car. Be sure to use 1/2inch drill bit, otherwise the bolts wont go through the holes. Tightening the shock bolt/bushing was a bit tricky. I ended up using 18mm wrench to hold the shock and used the 9mm wrench at the top to spin in reverse to tighten the shock. The X-brace had an immediately obvious impact on the stiffness of the car and improved handling. I am very happy with this product. It is extremely well-engineered.

          Wow!

I combined the Steeda rear chassi X brace along with the SR performance rear shock tower brace to tighten up the rear ended. I have the front shock tower brace and the Eibach pro system plus suspension kit. I added a double adjustable panhard bar, and double adjustable rear upperand lower control arms. My mustang goes where I put it. I'm confident going into now. Before I tightened up the rear end it was really lose and a little sketchy taking tight corners. I highly recommend these mods!
