Hey guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com here with a review of the MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub for 1984 to 2004 Mustangs that'll be running an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. In this video, we're gonna talk a little bit about the steering wheel hub and we're gonna talk about the install as well. I'll get into more detail later on, but the install for this is an easy one, and I'm gonna call it a one outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter. You should be checking out the MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub if you're shopping for an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel for your '84 to '04 Mustang. A MOMO steering wheel will require the hub to be installed in order for the steering wheel to be installed. This really is gonna be your only hub choice if you're shopping for a MOMO steering wheel or you already have one and you want to get it installed on your car. It's made specifically for those MOMO Wheels and made specifically for the '84 to '04 particular year range. When it comes to construction, the hub is made from steel and aluminum. Has a collapsible steel center section and a splined aluminum base. The other nice thing here is the hub has a black rubber sleeve and that's gonna give the hub a better finished appearance once it's installed. It'll go better with both the wheel and the column shroud. When it comes to price, you can expect to pay just south of the $100 mark for this hub. Like I mentioned earlier, this is the only option if you wanna run an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. One other thing that I did wanna mention here is that the 1990 to '04 Mustangs will also need a pre-1990 horn contact switch in conjunction with the hub adapter, so this'll cost about another $50 and AmericanMuscle does have that available. The install for this hub is very easy and we're gonna call it a one outta three wrenches in the difficulty meter. You can expect to spend an hour or two tops getting the install completed. I'm calling this an hour or two because I am assuming that you are also installing a new steering wheel at the same time as the hub. I will say that the install will change slightly depending on what year Mustang you're installing this on, but all you're looking at having to do is breaking down your stock setup, so removing the airbag, and disconnecting any wiring, and getting the wheel unbolted. Then you have the hub removal. Your new hub just slides into place and it's already gonna have your wiring with the connector in it so you're just looking at plugging right into that. You will need to wire a new horn for the steering wheel, and the new wheel just slides onto the hub and bolts down. Wrapping things up here with the MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub, this is the hub that you'll need in order to install an aftermarket MOMO steering wheel. It's made from aluminum and steel, and has a collapsible center section, and a black rubber sleeve for a finished appearance. You can check it out more online right here at americanmuscle.com.

Great wheel Hub
The only reason I gave it 3 stars was because the box I received had already been open had no instructions and the hub was scratch in several places paint was missing. Other than that it was a easy to install and looks great.Helpful (0)

Works well. Read for info.
OK, first things first: it works. Good news, right? This hub has 6 holes and can work with any steering wheel with the same pattern. For example, the sparco steering wheels, etc. American Muscle couldn't quite give me a straight answer on what the metal ring was that came with this product was since it didn't appear to be needed for my wheel (they've got enough to memorize already). Found out, it's required for Momo wheels to mount their horn/etc according to a sales rep at Momo. So it is not required for some aftermarket wheels like mine. It looks good but be prepared to have the opening where the steering wheel mounts. Other companies sell pieces that cover this. Good product though. Works as intended.Helpful (6)

Fits but it could be a lot better.
This adapter fits the Fox steering column but it’s not secure enough for my liking. Where as the factory steering wheel is an interference pressfit to he column shaft, this simply “slips” into the column and the 15mm hold down bolt is really the only thing preventing the adapter from slightly turning about the steering column. The adapter opening is not perfectly shaped to the steering column so it’s not a secure press fit. Also, because of this, the 6 holes for mounting the steering wheel are off center so you’ll have to have the alignment toe adjusted to recenter your steering wheel.Helpful (5)
Do I have to remove the clock spring? And would it fit on top of it?
Can I use it with a quick release?
The MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub does not function as a quick release and should not be stacked with another aftermarket quick release system for safety reasons. We recommend if you want to use a quick release system with an aftermarket steering wheel, you should order one that fully functions as a quick release.
1989 mustang gt. What does the harness with the three wires hook up to .It comes out of the steering wheel hub.
The wiring in the MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub will connect to the Ford OEM Horn Contact Switch. (Ford part# E63Z-13A821-A).
What is the overall diameter of it?
This will be roughly 5" in diameter.
My steering wheel is crooked is this normal do I need an alignment
You may need an alignment if your steering wheel is crooked, that would not be normal. However, we would recommend having a shop local to you take a look to be sure that an alignment is all that is needed.
The MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub would not be compatible with the MMD Quick Disconnect Kit.
This MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub will need to be torqued to factory specifications - it would be 30-35 lb-ft of torque for 1993.
Yes installation on 1990-2004 Mustangs require the use of a Pre-1990 Horn Contact Switch in addition to the hub (Ford part# E63Z-13A821-A).
The MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub will fit you 1990 but will require the use of a Pre-1990 Horn Contact Switch in conjunction with the Hub Adapter, Ford part# E63Z-13A821-A.
The MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub is all you need to install a MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub on 84-89 Mustangs. However, 1990-2004 Mustangs require the use of a Pre-1990 Horn Contact Switch in addition to the hub (Ford part# E63Z-13A821-A).
The Momo Steering Wheel Hub is not a quick release by itself but can be equipped with specific 6-bolt quick release systems.
There are endless possibilities to with the horn, and it can be done a few ways. It could be wired through the MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub by using a horn button, which it typically just a power and ground. If you wanted a relocated horn button, you would need a switch of some sort with the horn wires.
The MOMO USA Steering Wheel Hub will only be compatible with a MOMO steering wheel. It will not work with any other brands.
The hub can fit other steering wheels. It will be bolted up to it once you remove the clock spring.
I removed the bulb, painted it black and reinstalled the bulb.
