    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

Hey, what's going on, guys? Adam here with americanmuscle.com. Today I'm bringing you a quick overview of the Anderson Composites Type-OE Front Chin Splitter in the carbon fiber finish, fitting the factory front bumper of all 2015 and newer Mustangs. So in this video I'll be going over the styling and appearance you can expect when picking up this front chin splitter from Anderson Composites, as well as the materials and construction given the nature of its carbon fiber makeup, and I'll even walk you through the installation, which I'll tell you upfront will get a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. So let's jump right into it. With all the new S550s rolling around these days it's a no-brainer to want to stand out from the pack with your Mustang. The Anderson Composites Type-OE Front Chin Splitter in the carbon fiber finish will be for all 2015 and newer Mustang owners out there who have the factory front bumper installed and want to keep a familiar style, just with giving it a very aggressive noticeable carbon fiber weave with a true carbon fiber construction. So, as I mentioned, this front chin splitter is gonna fit the factory front bumper of all 2015 and newer Mustang models, so if you have any aftermarket front bumpers like the Roush or other ones out there, you might want to check out some of the other front chin splitter options because this one unfortunately won't be for you. So with the factory front bumper installed you can expect this front chin splitter to completely replace your factory OEM splitter with something that will fit exactly the same, just with replacing the matte black design with the ABS plastic to the actual 100% real carbon fiber construction with a very high gloss noticeable weave, a very eye-catching design here. Now this one, like I mentioned, will keep that OEM design. So if you're looking for a completely aftermarket chin splitter this one unfortunately won't be for you, but you can check out some of the other options on the market. Now if you are interested in picking up the 100% carbon fiber front chin splitter from Anderson Composites with a very high gloss finish with a hand laid infused weave, expect to be spending just about 650 bucks, a very common price tag for true carbon fiber parts for the S550. To some people that might sound a bit high, but you do want to take into consideration the very lightweight materials, very durable materials for the long lasting lifetime with a very noticeable car show appearance. A lot of bang for your buck here. So switching gears over to the installation portion of the video, like I mentioned in the beginning, this one is gonna be a pretty straightforward installation. It will get a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Probably take you about an hour or so worth of your time, definitely not a terrible job to do. And, of course, it will reuse factory hardware, given that it is going in the exact same locations since it is that OEM type fit. Now I will give you a heads up, there really is two different ways to do this, so it will be up to your comfortability level and whatever you think your preference may be. Now the first way to do this is to completely, entirely remove the factory front bumper just to get this installed maybe on a table of some sort to make it a little bit easier for you. Some people may find that easier but other people may think that that is adding an extra step to the process. You might want to jack it up and handle it from the ground if you're more comfortable doing it that way. For video purposes we'll be doing it a little bit differently. We'll be doing it with the bumper completely off of the vehicle just to help you out and give you a better angle of what you need to be doing. So to kick things off, you want to pop your hood and remove your front radiator cover, as well as the bolts underneath holding on your front bumper. From there there's a couple of clips in the front wheel wells on each side you want to remove, and then you want to make sure you're unplugging your lighting harness in the front as well before you gently pull your bumper off and set it aside. Now once you get your factory front bumper off and place on a towel of some sort so it doesn't get scratched up in the process, you'll just be removing your factory front chin splitter by removing the 20 or so bolts that are holding it on. Once you get that splitter off you can place it off to the side, but hang on to the hardware because you will be reusing it with the carbon fiber option. From here you can put the carbon fiber option in place, reinstall the hardware, tighten everything down, and you're good to go. Definitely a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and I'd say about an hour or so, maybe an hour or two at the absolute maximum, depending on which route you take with the installation process. So just to wrap things up guys, if you're the owner of a 2015 or newer Mustang with the factory front bumper installed and you're looking for a way to keep the styling of the OEM chin splitter but you want to give it a different aggressive finish, you might want to check out the Anderson Composites Type-OE Chin Splitter with the carbon fibre finish, always available here at americanmuscle.com.

Pictures don't do it justice, could be bigger

Looks so amazing in person, just seeing the carbon fiber at different angles makes it look awesome... I wish it was a bit bigger though, would look a lot better.
