More Horsepower. The Accel Super Coil On Plug Kit makes more power then the wimpy stock OEM factory coils to help produce more horsepower from your 3.7L V6 engine. They are a perfect match for stock engines and engines with minor performance upgrades.

        EXTRA JUICE ! !

Well, after getting the coil packs, I started to install them right away. They're not hard at all to install just time consuming because of the passengers side.; And the wiring harness that connects them can be damaged easily so be delicate when unplugging the harness, too much pressure will brake their locking/unlocking mechanism. After they were installed my cars computer took about 60 miles to acknowledge coil packs. Once my car acknowledged them, there was a substantial increase with throttle response and acceleration. Sweet, they work well with my other upgrades. Great product !

        Super Coil Packs

Changed the coils in my 2011 V6 Mustang to the Accel Super Coil Packs. Also changed the plugs since they had 65,000 miles on them (new NGK's). The job was easy (with the right tools) and took about 3 hours. You can read about them at v6mustangperformance.com where it is claimed that these coils add 8 horsepower to the engine. I'm sure that is true as I can feel the difference in power after this change. I highly recommend these coil packs for the V6 Mustang.

        DO NOT PURCHASE

My first bad review ever!!!! I purchased these for my 2011 mustang and it was the worst purchase ever. Once you install them you cannot take them off to replace your plugs because the boots come off even with the grease, and the springs get stretched making these things worthless. You can forget about American Muscle or Accel doing anything about it.

        SMOOTH!

I read alot of reviews and most were spot on. There is a smoother idle, and I've noticed better response from the gas pedal. As far as mileage, the first tankful was 2mpg better than usual,... but I've been an angry driver so far on the 2nd tankful!! (It's the holiday season) Took a little over an hour 2 install.

Have not test run yet winter project

so far looks good, had one coil ohm higher than the other 5 so hope it works well. Would like to see AM sell the gasket to the upper manifold tho and include torque specs to the manifold. I had to also pull my Ford performance strut tower brace and busted one bolt off the tower. It wasn't from torquing but I I'll own up to it.

Is there a way to change the color of the cap? The yellow is extremely distasteful. Is there any way to change this or to paint it?

      • I don't think they offer other colors but you could easily paint it yourself. Of course do it before install.

Estimated Hp increase? Just curious what the relative Horsepower increase is? Trying to figure in cost/hp worth.

      • Not sure of the HP, the throttle response is firm and quicker. I do noticed smoother idling. Hope is helps.

Does it require a tune? When I first started modifying, I installed a cold air intake and tuner from Steeda. About a month later, I installed a BBK throttle body and didn't alter the tune; I was told that I didn't need a newer tune with the newer throttle body. My car right now has the original Steeda tune that was required for CAI. If I were to install this super coil on plug kit, would I need a different tune than what I already have? And would a newer tune for what I already have plus this super coil on plug kit be an improvement over the tune I already have? Is there such a tune?

      • no the coils do not require a reflash(tune)

What are defined as minor performance upgrades? They are a perfect match for stock engines and engines with minor performance upgrades. ===>>>This is from the description. I have BBK CAI, BBK Throttle Body, Ford Racing X-pipe and Catbacks, with a performance tune.

      • "Minor performance upgrades" are generally what others would call "Bolt on" or "Turn key" upgrades such as the mentioned CAI, and Throttle Body. Upgrades that do not drastically change the performance of the car but add to or complement OEM equipment. Major performance upgrades are items such as forced air intakes to include super charger and turbo charger being some of the most common.

I'm seeing a lot of reviews saying these coil boots being stuck inside the motor when changing a plug also one or two coils going out in a short period of time of running them these reviews are also a few years old have they upgrades these coils weak points to prevent this from happening and are they worth the price tag?

      • This is not a common problem that we hear about anymore, and would certainly think that these are a great upgrade for the price.

MPG Increase Can anyone tell me if they've seen any increase in MPG with these coils? I recently did some mods and lost 3 MPG (most due the the increased gear ratio I put on). Wondering how I might get back a couple MPG as I drive 110 highway miles a day. 2 answers
