Cooler Charge For More Power. Superchargers are great for making power, but they are also known to create excessive heat that can cause detonation. But by upgrading your Supercharged SVT Cobra to a AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger you can effectively disperse this extra heat lowering intake charge temperatures to eliminate detonation and increase horsepower.

Superior Construction. Using an all aluminum construction, AFCO double pass heat exchangers are much lighter and provide better thermal efficiency than stock allowing for a cooler intake charge. Each heat exchangers is 100% TIG welded by hand for the strongest and most uniformed welds possible, with no epoxy.

Application. This AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger is designed to be a direct fit replacement upgrade for the 2003 to 2004 SVT Cobra equipped with the Supercharged DOHC 4.6L V8 engine.

5 2003 Cobra - Zuni Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Helps keep the engine cool

I have been driving around almost a month with this heat exchanger and it really does keep the engine a lot cooler. My cobra stays a quarter warm instead of normal operating temperature, but will go back to normal when you idle for a bit. Comes very well packaged and with everything you need so you don't need to run around, also comes with instructions and pictures if your not sure on how it's suppose to be installed.

5 2003 Cobra - Josh Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Great buy!!!

I found out for myself the reaction of a stock heat exchanger on a hot day, took me less then 5 minutes to find this one from afco and knew I had to have it. Pretty great quality and I would consider buying from them again.

5 2003 Cobra - ChristopherB Installation Time: Afternoon

        Solved issues at the track

I was boiling my supercharger coolant (ported Eaton, 2.8" pulley) after 2-3 laps at GingerMan raceway. Swapped in this beauty, which allowed me to stay out the whole session with no boiling over. Fits great using the stock brackets, looks good. I painted the ugly rusting stock brackets silver to match.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Trying to figure out what would be more important, upgrading the heat exchanger or larger supercharger coolant tank?

      • The AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger will have a larger effect on your supercharger air temps, but will work better with a larger tank for increased capacity. Between the two, a heat exchanger will provide the most cooling.

Do you need to have an aftermarket coolant reservoir to support this heat exchanger?

      • You do not need an aftermarket coolant reservoir to support the AFCO Double Pass Heat Exchanger (03-04 Cobra). Though, that does not mean you cannot upgrade to a better one.
