    Limited Slip Differential. If your stock rear end is not putting the power to the pavement you need to upgrade to a Auburn High Performance Series 8.8in 31 Spline Limited Slip Differential from AmericanMuscle. A Limited Slip Differential (LSD) sometimes referred to as a "Posi" will allow both rear wheels to plant the power to the ground giving you better traction and more impressive burnouts.

    Application. This Auburn High Performance Series Limit Slip Differential will fit both solid axle and independent rear suspensions (IRS) equipped V8 Mustangs from 1986 to 2014 as well as 2011 to 2014 V6 Mustangs. Requires 31 spline axles. (Will not fit the 2013-2014 GT500).Application Note: 1986-2004 V8 Mustangs came factory equipped with 28 spline axles, except for 2003-2004 SVT Cobras which were 31 spline. All 2005 and newer V8 Mustangs come equipped with 31 spline axles.

    Technical Note. You will need to reuse your factory 8.8” gear set, or upgrade to a set of our 8.8" rear gears required for this Limited Slip Differential. No aftermarket gears are included. For normal driving conditions we recommend you use 75W 90 rear gear oil. This will give you the same oil weight as factory. For colder temps or race use try 75w 140.

    Does this unit require a special friction modifier to be added with the gear oil? If so which one would be good.

    • The Auburn Gear HP Series Limit Slip Differential will require the use of Friction Modifier. Auburn, GM, or Ford limited slip additive can be used, but your differential will include pre packaged additive.

      Installed with 4.10 gears and broke in 500 miles and only lasted 2 months broke the spider gears and hopefully get it warranted and get a new one quick doesn't do to good with 800whp

      Auburn Gear HP Series Limit Slip Differential - 31 Spline

      This thing is sick! it feels more like a track-lok than a LSD! slow, tight turns I can feel the inner wheel start to kick a little bit. The diff works like a well oiled machine! I can tell that no matter how many times I launch this car, there's no way I'm every breaking this diff and forged axles!!

      SURE-GRIP POSI FOR STREET OR TRACK!!!

      Very nice differentials, this is my second hot rod I'm putting an auburn into. Same locking action as the GRIZZLY, YUKON, or EATON brand, they aren't loud and they can withstand a beating...ALSO, THEY DISENGAGE WHEN TURNING around a corner so you don't get uneven treadwear, etc.
