How to Install BBK 78mm Throttle Intake - Polished (96-04 GT) on your Ford Mustang

Follow these instructions carefully to ensure correct fitment and operation.

STEP 1: Disconnect the negative battery terminal and remove the air intake hose from the throttle body.  

STEP 2​: Remove the 2 EGR tube bolts on the driver’s side of the plenum.  

STEP 3​: Remove the throttle cable bracket bolts and disconnect the throttle and cruise control cables from the throttle body. Disconnect the electrical and vacuum connections that attach to the plenum and throttle body.  

STEP 4​: Remove the 5 mounting bolts that attach the plenum to the manifold and remove the throttle body/plenum assembly from the vehicle.  

STEP 5​: Determine the PCV fitting your application requires and install into the plenum. NOTE!!! Install the PCV fitting before installing the IAC Valve. 1996-01 uses the small PCV Fitting. 2002-04 uses the larger PCV Fitting.  

STEP 6​: Install the IAC valve using the supplied gasket and original bolts.  

STEP 7​: Place the TPS bushing over the TPS shaft and install the TPS using the supplied hardware.  

STEP 8​: Inspect the plenum to lower manifold gasket, be sure to wipe any debris from the mating surfaces then install the throttle body/plenum assembly onto the intake manifold using the supplied hardware. NOTE!!! For this installation you will only use 4 of the 5 mounting hole on the intake manifold.  

STEP 9​: Re-establish the electrical and vacuum connections. Attach the throttle cable and cruise control cable to the throttle intake and attach the bracket to the throttle intake using supplied hardware.  

STEP 1​0: Re-connect the EGR tube using the supplied gasket and original bolts. Re-connect the air intake hose and the negative battery terminal.
