Will these springs be ok used with stock shocks and struts? Wanting to know if I'll have to buy new shocks and struts as well.

    • You can definitely install these lowering springs with you stock shocks and struts. But with that said, you'll find that on your 1996, you'll likely have much better ride quality and performance when adding new shocks and struts as your stockers have just shy of 20 years of wear and tear on them. Hope this helps!

headers? I have long tube headers and was just curious if they would rub or scrap with these springs?

    • No they will not scrap unless u hit a big speed bump but in that case any exhaust will scrap

Hi.i own a 1990 mustang convertible. Am planning on installing full length subframe connectors.will i have clearance issues with bbk lowering coils?

    • While these BBK Progressive Rate Lowering Springs will lower the vehicle, most jacking rails will stay in-line with the pinch welds so clearance may not be an issue. If the jacking rails extend past the pinch welds then there may be some issues.

    • Hello! The BBK Lowering Springs - Coupe & Convertible should not cause rubbing issues with your tire setup.

Will I need Caster/Camber plates with these? Running 17x8 on the front with 245s? Thanks in advance.

    • The BBK Lowering Springs - Coupe & Convertible - Specific Rate (79-04 GT, Mach 1; 93-98 Cobra) will not require caster camber plates for the install, however we do recommend them to help fix the alignment.

I assume a GT Convertible will drop more than a coupe due to the weight. How much more drop? And how much difference is there with and without isolators? Thanks!

    • When using these BBK Lowering Springs on a convertible, the spring will settle approximately 1/4" lower than a coupe. The isolators will add about 1/4"-1/2" height after settling down as well.

      BBK lowering springs

Looks good and handles better. Being my mustang is a convertible it really did drop 1.7 inches instead of 1.5 was easy to install. I lifted the car in the shop at my job and by myself i had everything done in about an hour and a half. Very easy with a lift didnt even have to use spring conpressors

Awesome aggressive stance! Rides great. I just wait a long long time for the springs to arrive, due to the springs shipped direct from BANK and they were on back order.

Fantastic ride, must buy. Can always trust BBK.

Just installed my lowering springs, and let me say it is a convertible and it is a cobra so it's gonna drop a little lower, Let me say The ride is amazing and it handles beautifully, I can't wait to break them in more. But I also installed SR performance rear upper and lower control arms. The previous owner had KYB AGX Adjustable shocks and struts installed as well. Also, It is a must to get rear upper and lower control arms and a nice set of struts, shocks, and quad shocks/dampeners- to even out the ride quality. I highly advise not installing lowering springs with stock shocks and struts. Overall good ride quality, I'm confident in not scraping.

      BBK Springs

These springs came on the car when I bought it, but I have ridden in many SN95 mustangs before, so I know that these are a very good improvement over stock. There are definitely springs that can get you lower, but because I have a cobra, the extra engine weight makes the springs settle a little lower than a GT. Very good springs for the money. Not too stiff at all for daily driving, I like these.

Fantastic product with immediate results. Despite a lack of instructions for the install, recieved a full 1in drop on my v6. Handles like a dream there is very little pull around corners now and almost feels as though your gliding.

      Great Product !

For those looking for quality springs that don't bite the wallet BBK is the way to go. It dropped my 04 convertible GT about 1.5" on the front an about 1.25" on the rear giving it a really nice stance and a smooth ride. I'm very happy with this product thanks AM I will recommend these springs to anyone that asks where I got em from.

      Great Spring for the Price!

Installed these with a set of Koni Yellows intended for a DD/DE 2001 Mustang GT. Set them to 1 turn front and .75 rear (found the rebound was a little too firm when corning at speed over bumps). This is a great combination. I have yet to feel a single jarring moment. It is not too stiff for a DD with the koni's and is plenty stiff enough for a DE car too. Allows just enough body roll.

      Perfect stance for a convertible

I purchased these because they were cheap. Also, it was between this and another option due to my convertible being a heavier model. I was skeptical about the outcome but wow, did these springs exceed my expectation as far as closing the wheel to fender gap. From fitting my whole hand between the wheel and fender, I now can only fit about three fingers. I have not measured it but im willing to bet the 1.5" drop is on point. handling turns is better. If you don't mind a bumpy ride then just invest in some shocks and struts but for 200 bucks you can't beat the appearance on your lowered mustang. I don't mind the bumpy road, I like a lot of feedback from my ride.

great buy and love the new stance

First off, don't use spring compressors, that's why it took me all day. The bars got wedged and took me most of the day to get it out. Take a jack and place it under the lower control arm for the easiest way. Beware the bottom coil on the spring will more than likely break, making it a fun afternoon for you! Installation is really easy but look at your sway bar bushings as well as you sway bar link and your ball joints. I did these too and the ride is 100% better. It took the play out of the steering wheel and takes curves a million times better. I only replaced the front because the back are weighed down by my sub. The ride quality is better than stock and I'm still not scraping anywhere I've been. Overall one of the best additions to my car.

      Perfect for convertible

Dropped my 2002 Mustang GT Convertible about 1 3/4" in the front and about 2" in the rear looks great and handles much better. Install wasn't too difficult or long but should probably be put on by a shop.

Just the way You want it

i got these springs because the price was good and it dropped it just enough to get rid of that 4x4 look. I love these springs. the car handle like it should of from the factory. I also went with the bbk ones, just because most of the stuff on my car is all bbk, and i've been very pleased with all their products so far.

      Lowering springs

These springs are a great impovement for handling and appearance with a nice level stance. The kit comes with detailed instructions as needed. ...and overall, a somewhat easy installation for the average wrencher like myself. Make sure to read intructions though; other wise, the car won't sit even.

      Car looks great lowered

Lowered car a full 1.5 inches, ruff ride but that was expected. A spring compressor is a must, no way to remove rear old springs and install without. Fronts will need someone to help pry and push the new ones in, not a one man job.

      lowering springs

these springs do improve the handling on your car pretty nicely and they still pretty smoothing going over speed bumps and things. The install was pretty easy in the back but on the front it was kinda rough. if your ball joints are stuck to the spindle like mine, were you are going to need some serious manpower or a pickle fork. Worth the money

      Great springs

really revived my 14 year old suspension with improved handling and response. significantly reduced body roll and nose diving during breaking and gave just the right amount of drop to give a nice clean look to my ride. great cheaper option to the more expensive springs, and an easy install that I knocked out in about 3 hours.
