Simple installation for anyone.
Hey, I'm Justin with AmericanMuscle.com. And I'm checking out a can't miss retro mod for the front end of your 2010 through 2012 GT. Thanks to Modern Billets, upper and lower billet grilles available in your choice of either black or polished. As you might have guessed from the name, Modern Billet is a company that specializes in designing and producing a wide variety of styling and accessories for your Mustang using nothing but 100% aircraft grade billet aluminum. Now this upper grille draws its inspiration from the legendary 1966 Shelby GT 350. Now some people may argue that this car kicked off the billet grille trend that would later find its way onto everything from passenger cars to pickup trucks, is now more popular than ever on today's rides. In addition, that modern billet upper grille also deletes the signature GT fog lights and the factory running pony emblem, making for a real clean look when installed. The lower grille, which we are also featuring in this video, filled the void nicely on the lower portion of the factory bumper, and really makes for a dramatic look when paired with that upper grill. Now even though we do have the upper and lower grille paired up for this video, they are available separately. So for instance, if you just wanted to go with that retro-themed upper grille and leave the lower portion stock, you totally could. However if you dig the look of both grilles working together for you, like we have installed in our GT behind me, then you'll actually save yourself a few bucks in the process if you purchase both at the same time.As for the install, well, the method will differ slightly depending on which grille you're installing. For instance, the lower grille is an overlay, meaning it's designed to install easily over the lower portion of your factory grille. On the other hand, that upper grille will require a little bit more work simply because you have to remove the factory grille first and then install the new billet piece in reverse order. Now even though there is a little bit more work involved, you should be able to get each grille installed in about 30 minutes apiece, from start to finish. Now if you really want to nail that early Shelby look then you should put some of that money you saved from the combo deal towards one of these Tri-Bar pony emblems.Set it off to the side, and you'll have the same look Shelby used back in '65 and '66. So if you want to give your late model S197 a look shared by some of the early Shelby Mustangs, then be sure to check out some of these grille options from Modern Billet, available right here at AmericanMuscle.com.

**READ REVIEW TO KEEP FOGS** - Grill looks amazing
I actually got the incorrect instructions talking about cutting stuff off the old "inner grill" but after messing around for a few hours, instead of trying to utilize factory grill piece for foglights i decided to ATTN: WHAT EVERYONE WANTS TO KNOW TO KEEP FOGS: simply drill a 3/16" hold in the core support and stuff my foglights in-between the front bumper and the radiator core support and use a single zip tie to keep them there after aligning the light pattern with the headlights. The factory foglight brackets help keep them stuffed in there, and if you twist them just right so that the single screw mounting point is in the middle and the other side with the 2 screw holes are on the side with the headlights they act as arms to keep them snug in place. The grill looks "10x better" as my wife herself said and I cannot explain with words and pictures, in real life it looks better than any pictures. (Also, yes i have replaced my foglight bulbs with LED replacements - 6000K white)Helpful (0)

Look great but has terrible hardware
The grille looks great and fits perfectly within the stock grille surround but the hardware included does not do the job. I used my own hardware and when the grille is put back into the bumper it feels loose, i needed to drill a hole into the bumper to make sure it was secured.Helpful (0)

Good Appearance for the price
This looks very identical to the roush grille but at a much cheaper price. I like that it is made out of aluminum. Mounts on the grille are solid. I have no issues. Shop did an awesome install on the grille and my roush fasciaHelpful (0)

Awful fitment, just spend the extra money and get a nicer one. The tabs don’t line up even close what so ever. Very disappointed.Helpful (4)
Can my fog lights go behind the grille?
There is room to put fog lights behind this grille, however the Modern Billet Black Retro Billet Grille will eliminate any mounting points for the Fog lights. To make them work behind this grille you will have to make some modifications.
I have a 2011 mustang 5.0 california special. I believe it has the gt-500 front end. will this fit on my car?
Are more parts needed with this to delete gig lights? Like the look but want to make sure I order everything I need at once. Is it as simple as removing factory grille and unglugging fog lights and re installing this one?
Nothing else would be needed, it is indeed as simple as you presented here yourself. We have the installation guide on the product page here, I would suggest to look into that to see what kind of installation you will be getting yourself into.
Just bought the upper grill w/ pony emblem. I seen a few photos with the fog lights behind the grill? How can I achieve that? What else do I need to get?
The Modern Billet Black Retro Billet Grille is meant to delete the fog lights. If you would like to keep the fog lights in place behind this grille its a customer set up. There will be extra fabrications needed.
My grille did not include those two long tabs on the bottom nor did it include the extra two acres and speed nuts. Have these been removed or something? The grill surround is very loose and floppy at the bottom .
It seems you may be missing some hardware. You can get in contact with one of our Mustang Experts directly by following the link below. This way we can ensure you have a proper install. http://www.americanmuscle.com/contact.html
I apologize about that mix up. I would recommend giving us a call or sending us an email with a picture of those instructions and we may be able to get you some more clear instructions that should not include any modification.
Hi. The Modern Billet Black Retro Billet Grille only comes with the grille and the mounting hardware, it doesn't include the grille surround.
The Modern Billet Black Retro Billet Grille (10-12 GT) was not made for having the fog lights behind the grille, and neither do we sell one that does. If you were to do the modifications to achieve this look it seems like the biggest obstacle would be actually mounting the fog lights.
Yes. The Roush Mustang uses the same grill surround as the GT. I have the Roush Bumper Cover with my stock GT surround and this exact grill. My car is a 2011 but the 11's and 12's are the same.
Yes you can. I did this and made/modified the parts myself. I am working on a write up for how I did it right now with pictures. It isn't for the faint of heart and you will need to do some cutting/modifying of the grill surround and the bumper cover.
No, You will likely need to purchase a GT grill surround as well. The GT/CS surround and grill are all one piece.
I have this grill with a regular GT surround and a Roush front bumper. If the bumper for the regular GT and the CS are the same then it will work. You just have to buy the GT grill surround.
This combo will only fit 2010-2012 GT Mustangs. We do carry a Black Retro Grille for your 2013 GT - check out the link below!
Yes the Boss 302 and the GT share the same grill surround so this grill will work.
You put the emblem wherever you want. The bracket in the back smooshes it to the grille you place it wherever you want and then put the locking clips on.
