Review & Install Video
Hey everybody, I'm Alex with americanmuscle.com, and this is my quick review and breakdown of the black side stripes with Mustang lettering, fitting all 2010 through 2014 Mustangs. So, in this video, I'm gonna talk about who this kit might appeal to, the construction and materials that are gonna be utilized by our in-house vinyl team, what you should expect to be spending. And then we'll round it out, taking a look at the installation, where I'll be giving this a very easy 1-out-of-3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, at about 30 minutes to an hour, and I'm gonna show you exactly how coming up soon. So, the black side stripes Mustang lettering that I have here today should definitely appeal to the 2010 through 2014 Mustang owner out there that doesn't really wanna get into the typical style side stripe or rocker stripe, for someone that wants to harness and hone in on some of that nostalgic throwback styling, like what you might find coming off the '70's Boss, as well as for someone that wants a very easy to install and quality-built product. Additionally, this kit might appeal to the Mustang owners out there that wanna have something creeping up the side of your car, as the style rate here is gonna creep up and accentuate those big hips on the Mustang, but for someone, again, that doesn't really like the idea of getting into a standard rocker style stripe. Now with that said, construction and materials-wise here, we're going to see that this is gonna be manufactured out of a 4-mil style vinyl, something that we predominately use on about 90-95% of all the Le Mans stripes, hash marks, anything that's vinyl that comes out of American Muscle. And that's gonna be really great, as it's that much more durable in comparison to a calendered style vinyl. It's gonna be an inferior type of vinyl. Something I really like about this style is that, on top, it's gonna feature a clear coat protective layer. And then, on the adhesive side, it's gonna have an air release technology, which essentially means that once it comes time to install this, you're not gonna be fighting the product, kind of like you might find with vinyl produced in/about the last 10 or 15 years, or just a basic, generic, and inferior style of material.Pricing-wise here, you should expect to be spending only about $50 for this kit, which is gonna be really affordable. It's gonna put that in the same price range, if not identically, to all the other rocker style stripes out there that we have on the website. Again, one that's going to set your Mustang apart from the pack, and look that much more different from the standard style side stripe. So switching gears to the installation portion of the video, just like I said up top, you're looking at a very easy 1-out-of-3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, and about 30 minutes to an hour to get this on. One thing I will mention is that as soon as you get this, it's gonna be a great idea to throw this on a flat surface and let that flatten out for a little bit, as it is gonna come rolled up. But, I will also say that if you're uncomfortable doing any type of vinyl work, there is absolutely no shame taking this to a local body shop or a dealer to have it put on. You should expect to be spending, maybe, about $60-$100, or whatever they're going to be charging per hour based on where you are watching this from. So, some things I make sure to do prior to installing this and to have on hand, I would definitely give your Mustang a bath just to make sure there's no type of dirt, wax residue, anything oily that's going to prevent this from sticking to the car when it comes time. After that, I would use the supplied squeegee as well as having a small water bottle, just a little bit of soap on hand, and that's essentially going to be so that you can mist the side of the car and then get that into place. That's honestly going to be half of the installation there, misting that side panel and getting it into place. And then, once you're satisfied, you can use the supplied squeegee, work out all those air bubbles and moisture, and then either let the car sit in the sun or take a heat gun or a hair dryer to it, but make damn sure you are very careful with using either a heat gun or a hair dryer, as that will run through the material very quickly if you are too close. All right, guys. Just to wrap things up here, if you are the 2010 through 2014 Mustang owner out there that doesn't typically like your standard style side stripe or rocker stripe, looking for something that's going to stick out that much more, give you some of that throwback nostalgic look from the '70s, like from the Boss, I'd definitely recommend checking this out for your car.So, I'm Alex, and that's my quick review and breakdown of the black side stripes with Mustang lettering, fitting all 2010 through 2014 Mustangs, available right here at americanmuscle.com.
