I have a 4" round drive shaft. With the lower bracket fitting between the transmission and the transmission mounting bracket, will it raise the tail shaft high enough to let the drive shaft hit while driving ?

Would this work with an MGW short throw?

Are there any aftermarket shifters this bracket isn’t compatible with? For example, the hurst competition plus shifter?

        • This shifter bracket is compatible with most aftermarket shifters like the Hurst shifter.

Works great, but quality was not what I expected.

I Installed the Blowfish Racing bracket on my 05 GT along with a brand new MGW shifter. Here's what I found when working with the bracket. Pros: 1) Installation of the bracket was not too difficult. Instructions were well laid out and very detailed making the install mostly painless. 2)The fit on the car was good. It all fit snug and lined up as it should. 3) This bracket with the MGW shifter is a NIGHT AND DAY difference. The car shifts great now. I am highly satisfied with that. Cons: 1)The only con I have with this kit was the quality of the machine work on the billet pieces. There were a lot of edges that were not deburred, and on the included two piece shifter support bracket chunks of aluminum came out of the tapped holes. Not ideal. I understand these parts will never be seen since they're under the car, but I just wish for the $300 they took more care in the machining aspect. 2) The flat bracket in the kit had paint in the tapped holes in it. Not a huge deal but just wish it wasn't there. Overall, the product works as described. I am very satisfied with the results of the bracket and shifter combo.

Blowfish V2 Shifter Support Bracket for TR3650

The product is very high quality and cleared up all of my shifting at high RPM troubles. It was used with a Roush Shifter so Slight machining was required for a perfect fit. There is no noise or vibration.. Have even shifted with a WOT Box without difficulty. It has been installed for over 100 miles and I have not been locked out of any gear. It's Amazing.

A fix for a poor factory design.

If you drive your Mustang aggressively or track your car like I do, this is the fix for the annoying shifter lock-out. This is a very well built quality piece that provides a big improvement in shifter feel and accuracy. I added this to my Hurst Competition Plus shifter and I'm very happy with the results. I can now bang away without any missed shifts or lock-outs and I have no increase in NVH. It's a little pricey but worth it. I would recommend.

Spent 12 years searching for this fix!

I bought my ‘06 new and thought I forgot how to through a good shift. Later, I believed I had a defective tranny that NO ONE knew how to diagnose. (Tremec’s and Ford’s only “solution” was to replace it with a Magnum XL T56. Seriously.) Anyway, Blowfish engineering identified the problem and created a well-made, inexpensive solution. Now, the Hurst shifter does its thing the way it was designed. (One hiccup: The two screws for the shifter clamp were too short by 1/2”. Additional tip: YouTube’s Blowfish video doesn’t apply to this bracket, but instruction sheet is easy to follow.)

            Great design

Really tough to get in for a diy without removing exhaust. It's not the tight space, it's the exhaust hangers that keep you from lifting the trans high enough to get the blowfish bracket in between the trans and the cross member. Otherwise, pretty straight forward. Do yourself a favor though and count on removing the exhaust or exhaust hangers. Performs well. As expected

            Blowfish "NAILS" it!

Finally my Mustang shifts the way a Muscle car truly should! Ford fell flat on there Face putting in the "compromise' garbage they called a shifter, a Mustang is a performance machine and deserves better than that garbage shifter they installed. This Blowfish bracket paired with a Barton short-throw took me back to when shifting was something you did and never gave a second thought to...banging gears with total confidence!

            Excellent Product

Got this to remount my OEM shifter and transform it to a full tranny-mount shifter to remove the shifter flexing\binding during power shifts......product does exactly what Blowfish Racing says it would do and does it w\ style! Shifter is very firmly mounted and I don't hear not 1 NVH issue coming from this product at all. I do feel the engine\trans vibrations coming thru the shifter handle but this is a very moot issue and I'm an old school manual car person who cut my teeth on the old style 3 and 4 speed floor shifters which mounted directly to the transmission anyway so I'm used to feeling vibrations thru the shifter handle.....part of the charm\experience! This product is a MUST HAVE for any S197 owners still running a Ford Tremec TR 3650 5-speed manual transmission in their Mustang. Just get it!
