Hey, guys, Stephanie with americanmuscle.com here with an overview and install of the Ford BOSS 302 Alcantara Suede Steering Wheel, for the 2010 to 2014 Mustang. In this video, we're going to look at a few different things with this steering wheel, but mostly we'll be talking about the styling and construction of the wheel, talking about the install, and showing you guys what this looks like installed, so you can see the full effect. I'll talk more about the install later, but this is an easy install, so I'm gonna call it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. The Ford BOSS 302 Steering Wheel is something that you're gonna want to check out if you're looking for a steering wheel upgrade that'll still keep the factory controls, with the factory airbag. And that has a factory-like feel, but that still gives you some upgraded looks and comfort over the factory steering wheel. This steering wheel is also a good option for someone that wants to capture some of that race-inspired feel that the 2012 BOSS 302 has, but that doesn't want to go all out with a true race wheel, or a setup that requires changing your hub and ditching that airbag. This steering wheel is original equipment on the BOSS 302. This isn't a replica wheel. This is the exact wheel that the BOSS comes from the factory with. Not only does that mean that it's gonna directly replace your factory steering wheel without the need for a different hub, but it means that you can keep the creature comforts of a factory steering wheel, and still have an upgrade in looks and feel. The sense that race-inspired design since the BOSS 302 is a factory car that's designed for the track. It is a contoured design, to give you a better grip, and that's different than the factory wheel. This gives you a bit more grip. The wheel is covered in this black Alcantara suede, and it's a very comfortable feel in your hand. The stock wheel is comfortable too, but the suede feels great, and I personally don't find it slippery at all. Styling aside, this steering wheel kit is a direct replacement for the factory steering wheel, and it's gonna come with the steering wheel as you see it here. It won't come with an airbag. You'll have to transfer over your airbag from your stock steering wheel. It's gonna come with bezels for your steering wheel controls, but the steering wheel does not come with a sync button, but that can be transferred over from your factory steering wheel. So, you do keep some items from your factory wheel, like your airbag, the sync button if you have it, and your hardware. If you have a 2010 to '12 Mustang, this wheel will fit any '10 to '12 that does not have a navigation system control on the factory steering wheel. Some GT500s have this feature, so just be aware of that. When it comes to price, you can expect to spend about $350 for this steering wheel. This is a touch more expensive than the other aftermarket options that are currently on this site, but this is made by Ford Performance, and it is an OEM part, so I'm not surprised by the price here. Those two factors usually tend to drive the price of parts up. And I don't think the price is crazy here for what you're getting between the quality and the comfort. As far as the install goes, I mentioned this earlier, but you're looking at a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and you can expect to spend an hour, tops. You just need a few basic hand tools, nothing crazy or out of the ordinary. You're gonna want to disconnect your battery, first of all, then remove your airbag from your factory wheel by unbolting it, wiggling it out of place and unplugging the two connections. The steering wheel does come with detailed install instructions that'll walk you through this. You need to disconnect the cruise control before moving the steering wheel, which is only held in by a few bolts. Once the stock wheel is out, you're ready for the BOSS wheel. You can make your electrical connections, which are all plug and play, bolt the wheel down, reattach the airbag module, and finish up your install. Wrapping things up with the Ford BOSS 302 Alcantara Suede Steering Wheel, this is the OE steering wheel that came on the BOSS 302. It has a race-inspired feel with its design and Alcantara suede covering, extra bolstering, and stitching. As always, I suggest you check it out more online for yourself. And for all things Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
