will having a throttle body spacer installed and supercharger kit on it affect the install fit of this unit?

BrianE

  • Hello! The CDC Shaker System is designed to work on a stock motor. It likely will not fit with a Super Charger or aftermarket throttle body.

Will this work if you have the Ford Racing Intake Manifold installed. I don't have it yet, I just want to know if it is possible to still be used if you have this.

6cylSam

  • No, this will not fit over an aftermarket manifold. It is designed only for the stock intake manifold.

Hi. Can this system be painted? I guess if it can high temp plastic spray? Thanks!

ShawnE

  • You may be able to paint the Shaker System. Though, I suggest taking it to a shop to see specifically what kind of paint will be best for the part. You will need something heat treated since it is right on the engine. As well as something that can handle the weather.

    Constant Compliments!

Easily the most stressful addition that has been added to my mustang. Cutting into the hood was the point of no return, but afterwards, it was easy place and tighten. I have had numerous compliments and never have had an issue. I also have purchased the Ford Racing Hot Rod Cams from American Muscle and it makes that scoop really shake. I made a quick video at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hoiYRt-5yDc&feature=plcp ....the audio does not give the deep rumble that the car actually has. Hope this helps.

    Shake It!

Great looking mod. The instructions are pretty good, but it would have been helpful to know that the template for the hole in the hood leaves about 1/4 to 3/8 inch of play for the trim ring. I spent about 30 minutes working to get the template 'dead nuts', only to find out that 'pretty close' would have been just fine. Also, if you use a jigsaw to make the cut, check the depth of cut...the underhood bracing from about the middle to the back side of the hood was about 1/8 too deep for my jigsaw to cut through, so I had to map out the cut on the underside and cut the bracing with a die grinder first...well, after the jigsaw blade jumped and made a few nice dents...thankfully they were on the cut/removed piece. A little over 4 hour install time. It's been installed for only a day, so I can't say I see a difference in performance, but so what if it doesn't? It looks awesome, and that's the point, right?

    Great Bolt-On

It took me a few years to get around to adding this mod. But, in the end it was worth the wait. I had a collision shop install the entire thing (including the cut on the hood) and it costs $200. There was a noticeable increase in horsepower especially at the low end. The distinct looks helps stand out in a crowded field.

Shaker Hoop Scoop - DYI -

Lets just start by stating " I am no Mechanic" but I felt very strongly that I could install this product by taking my time. The instructions state a 3 hour install, lets just say It took " A Lot " longer. To say I am pleased with the out come is a Huge Understatement, Turned out Fantastic. When I presented this project to my wife, she was not to happy with the idea of cutting a hole in the hood. I made sure she was not around when the cutting process "finally" happened, when I revealed the final Product, she was blown away, She Loved It.... (not more than me).......

Shaker Hood Install on a 2010 GT

This was a pretty decent install, the instructions were pretty decent, except where you put the second set of nuts on the air inlet manifold. It tells you to put the second set on but that is before you put the shaker bracket on. I did have to make a modification to the front of the fixture so I could get the socket in under the fixture so I could tighten the nuts. Other than that it was a decent install and it looks awesome.
