Review & Install Video
Hey, everybody, I'm Justin with americanmuscle.com, and this is gonna be my detailed breakdown and install of the Distressed Flag Quarter Window Decals, available for your 2015 and newer Mustang. Now, this certainly isn't going to be one of my longest videos I've ever shot, but I do plan on talking about the styling, the matte black option will deliver to your S550 Mustang. We'll briefly touch on the materials and construction if you can call it that with these things, and then last not least, we'll give you a brief little overview of the installation. And on the surface, you're really not looking at anything too crazy here, peel and stick job, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, with a little bit more detail later on.So, who is this gonna be for? Well, I'd say for any S550 owner out there looking to show their patriotic pride through a rather subtle matte black quarter window decal, and not go over the top hacks all Jim Duggan style. Not that there's anything wrong with that, of course, the man is a true American hero and one hell of a wrestler, but that's neither here nor there. But in all seriousness, here again, the Distressed Flag Quarter Window Decals from American Muscle Graphics have been extremely popular ever since their initial release, and it's pretty easy to see why. Now, I know it's hard to get a feel for 'em on the table here of course, but once they're installed, they really do blend in nicely to the quarter window area on the S550 and is just a great way to show your love for this awesome country. It's also setup be a great alternative to those more expensive quarter window scoops or louvers while still maintaining some visibility out of those quarter windows. With all that said, the customer submitted images, in addition to the installed footage that we're showing you right now, hopefully, will give you a better idea of what to expect when these guys are actually installed onto your ride. And as always, I encourage you guys to check out those customers' submitted images, it's always gonna give you a better feel for how the product might look on your very own ride. Now, just like any other American Muscle Graphics design, each one of these pieces have been tested, tweaked and redesigned, to fit your quarter windows perfectly just to ensure a perfect fit once these things arrive to you. And that will be evident of course the moment you go to install these things for the very first time, you'll notice the dimensions and the shape fit the quarter windows perfectly. Now, as far as materials, you are looking at a 3M premium cast vinyl in matte black, and it has been designed to last several years on your ride. It also features what they call air release technology. So, basically, if you were to flip this over and look at it with a magnifying glass, you'd see all these tiny little lines. And that's just gonna help you release any possible bubbles after the installation is done. And speaking of the installation, this one shouldn't test you too much guys. Really, it's a peel and stick job as long as you take your time. So, I'm sticking with one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, 30 minutes to an hour and I say that because I don't want you to rush this one. I have seen some concerns in the customer review section, people have had some small difficulties here, but I'm telling you to take your time, make sure you follow these detailed instructions from the American Muscle Graphics team. Now, I will say one of the biggest issues I've seen people having in the customer review section is that, they have problems removing the backing tape from the transfer tape and the vinyl decal stick in the both backing tape and both the transfer tape which you don't want. You want everything to be removed in one piece and stick to the transfer tape, it's very important. So, a good way to ensure this happens in that, you don't have a vinyl snafu, is that you grab your included squeegee here start at the middle of the graphic and then just kind of push on the design working from the center to the outside. Just really giving it some pressure to ensure that that vinyl design is gonna actually stick to the transfer tape. This way, it won't start peeling off on you for the backing tape, and will make your install go a lot easier. So trust me, use that method guys, and it should help you along the way. But ultimately gang, just follow these included instructions, they're really gonna help you along the way. Clean the area first using Windex or something similar, use a spray lubricant such as a soap and water mixture to help position the vinyl in place, please, please, don't try to put this thing on without that because what's gonna happen is, it's gonna go on wrong, you're gonna try to peel it off and things just become a big old mess real quick. So, follow these instructions again, use the included squeegee and just take your time, let this set up, use a hair dryer to help it dry if you want, because ultimately that's gonna result in the best kind of outcome if you will. So, follow these instructions and you should be good to go.All right, wrapping things up here guys, yes I think the Distressed Flag Quarter Window Decal is an awesome way to show your patriotism for this beautiful country, whether you're served in the military or whether you haven't. And at 30 bucks it is gonna be more affordable than some of your other quarter window options on the site. So, that is my review of the Distressed Flag Decal which you can grab right here at americanmuscle.com.
