    More Power. A set of complete Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Heads with Valves and Springs are perfect for your daily driven or street Mustang for more power and better throttle response from idle to 5500 rpm range.

    Features. These Performer Aluminum Heads are made in the USA and feature threaded inserts in rocker studs and exhaust bolt holes for superior strength and durability as well as manganese-bronze valve guides.

    Application. This set of two Edelbrock Performer Aluminum Heads are designed to be a direct bolt-on upgrade for 1982-1995 5.0L and 5.8L Ford V8 engines.

    Technical Notes. 1986 5.0L need pistons notched for clearance. Will not accept rail rockers. 5.0L requires Head Bolt Bushings #9680 and either Head Bolt Kit #8552 (7/16") or stock head bolts. Match with Edelbrock head gasket sets. Recommended spark plugs 14mm x 3/4" reach with flat gasket seat.

        How much hp will these heads add to my stock 86 gt???

        • On a stock 86 GT Mustang you can expect to see around about a 50 horsepower gain with these heads. Of course with other supporting mods, that number will change.

        What is the specs on the springs planning on going anderson n41 cam will these springs be fine with the lift?

        • The Edelbrock Performer Cylinder Heads utilize springs with an OD of 1.460 in capable of supporting 0.575 in of lift. You will need to consult with your camshaft manufacturer if these will be compatible with your specific cam selection.

            Great replacement and performance

            These Edelbrock 5.0 and 5.8 heads are great replacement and performance choice for your mustang. The reason is that is an aluminum head bases off the E7 stock iron head. So there is a weight savings, plus the springs on the edelbrock heads have a greater lift over stock so no needing to change springs to run a different camshaft . As well when running a different cam you will be not experience the dreaded valve flot at 5500 rpm and beyond. Which im still using the stock 5.0 HO cam. And unlike others which are just different versions of the gt40p and x heads. These head do allow you to reuse your stock valve train but recommend to replace stock rocker arms and push rod to newer. Preferably to to hardern pushrods, ask American Muscle or Edelbrock help determine the correct length need. Also these heads will need to be purchased with rock arm studs in the 5/16 thread. Due to the holes will not fit the 7/16ths and are not inclueded in the package. Comp cams does sell these in the 5/16ths but youll need to look around to find them. Also they will be needing to get Edelbrock's full gasket set as they are machined for it. The stock head bolts will be fine but edelbrock does offer the head bolts and spacers needed. The exhaust bolts can be reused but go with factory or stage 8 bolts if you using the stock exhaust manifold. They work with most aftermarket exhaust manifolds but use American Muscle or Edelbrocks tech line to ensure fitment. A professional ford mechanic can install these heads in 8hrs and estimated 980.00. But bank on saving more than that for Murphy's law plus oil and antifreeze change. Otherwise this will take longer to install yourself. Overall it's a great product from a company that's been doing business since 1940's and made in USA!
