    Review & Install Video

Hey I’m Justin with, and I’m here with a couple of different ways to trick out the interior of any Mustang, thanks to these white face reverse glow gauge inserts and matching white face A/C gauge inserts, fitting all 94-04 Mustangs. These white face gauge inserts, are reminiscent of the white gauges found in the 94 and up Cobras. Of course the styling is a little more radical especially at night when the reverse glow feature comes into play. The term reverse glow refers to the actual face of the gauge themselves, as you can see here during the day the gauges are bright white, but at night or whenever your headlights are on, the white part remains dark but the numbers and letters glow in a very cool and easily readable blue light. You may think these inserts are solely for the Mustang owner out there who enjoys a more aftermarket type of look, but that’s not always the case, in fact, many of our customers have told us how much they enjoy these white face gauges, because they’re easier to read during the day, but if you’re having difficulty seeing that red needle on the black background, like in your factory cluster, then these inserts may be for you. To match the look of these overlays we’re also featuring this matching white A/C control insert as well, available separately. A few nice things about this piece, for one, it’s easy on your wallet, it’s also a piece of cake to install in about 15 minutes, and it really completes the look when compared to these white face gauge overlays. In addition to the overlays you’ll find a dimmer switch and 12V power source needed for the install. Speaking of the install, you’ll want to make sure you have a T-15 torx tool, some basic hand tools, and either a soldering iron or quick splice connectors or bite connectors, just depending on how you prefer to wire everything up. Since you will have to disassemble your cluster slightly and do some minor wiring, we’re going to call this one an hour from start to finish. These white face glow gauge and A/C inserts offer some very unique styling at night and improved visibility during the day for a price that’s sure to fit into anyone’s budget, be sure to check them out right here at

Race Ready Style. Give your 1996 to 1998 Mustang GT's interior a race-ready, modern look with a set of White Face Reverse Glow Gauge Inserts. These white face reverse glow inserts give your Pony's interior a crisp, retro look by day. By night, their reverse glow makes reading them easy whether it's a grudge match or a late-night cruise.

Easy to Read. By day the gauge face is white with crisp clean markings, but by night the numbers glow bright blue, making these gauges distinctive and easy to read.

    Installs Over Stock Gauges.
Installation of these inserts is easy and doesn't require needle removal, so it won't disturb your gauges sensitive calibration.

These White Face Reverse Glow Gauge Inserts are designed to fit 1996 to 1998 Mustang GTs with the stock gauge cluster.

Where or how should the dimmer switch be mounted? I initially had it under the steering wheel, but the wires broke.

        • The dimmer switch can be mounted where ever you are comfortable. A lot of people just set level they want at the time of the install and just leave it within the panel.

I have a few lights out on my instrument panel. Would I need to replace them or does this kit by pass the original.

Can I buy the little dimmer switch that comes with this item on its own? The one I got is apparently bad, but I no longer have the receipt and am beyond the point of returning the gauge set.

        • At this time we do not carry any individual components of the White Face Reverse Glow Gauge Insert.

Can you buy the inverter separately? Mine started to work intermittently, and when they don't work if I smack the inverter with something hard they work again for a little

        • Unfortunately we do not have the inverter/switch available separately for this White Face Reverse Glow Gauge Insert.

Hey guys, I don't like the idea of a separate dimmer so, I want to wire this unit from my stock dimmer in the stock headlight switch. I'm assuming that the stock dimmer voltage starts at 12V. Am I correct? Therefore, do I still need to use the voltage inverter? What voltage is it inverting to? I want to wire it: Stock dimmer switch-through the voltage inverter-to the gauge inserts-to ground. Or, can I go: stock dimmer-through the gauge inserts to ground? $44 bucks is a lot for some inserts when I can get the same on eBay for $25 so, please don't give me the ol' "we don't recommend" line! I'm not keen on adding some awful dimmer switch to my dash! 1 answer

The product was over all pretty good. I like the fit and it wasn't too terribly difficult to put in the only issue that I had that I didn't care for was that it has a separate dimmer switch that doesn't Tie into the existing dimmer switch so it just dangles by the steering column.

            very hared to install

None of the needle holes were big enough had to cut them out to make them fit and it makes your needles not work correctly. You have to but it together and take it apart a lot to make sure that all needles work correctly it sucks.

Love the guages. Nice look during the day and night. Easy install. Just the only thing is the wire to connect to was a different color but the exact one in the pictures. I recommend these lights to anyone.

            Pretty nice ELMERS GLUE!!

I installed this fairly quickly, my friend bought these for his 98 mustang but he has the v6 not the gt so he had to get new ones, he gave me these ones, I had trouble with needles getting stuck, ELMERS GLUE needs to be applied to the gauges in order to not get stuck ! Other wise I love the way the product looks night and day

            Poorly made

The cut outs for the base of the needles are too small. Once you push it on it's so tight around the needles they won't move.

5 1996 GT - JC Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

They are popular for a reason: They look awesome.

They are super easy to install, but heres a tip to make them even better. The needles are lit by the stock incandescent bulbs. So when you install the white face overlay normally the needles are basically black or barely lit at all. If you install white led light in the 5 stock spots behind the main gauges the needles will now shine bright orange and make the gauges look outstanding. The trick is that the leds light will shine through from beneath the bezel and contaminate the overlay. The solution is simple: install the overlay normally then tape off all the clear plastic channels and edges which allow the back lighting to shine through the gauge bezel with black electric tape.If you take your time you can cover all the clear plastic (stock diffuser) and it will be invisible when you install the lens and bezel. If you do this you will get the awesomeness of the overlay plus your needles will shine with a blazing orange. Also if you install the dimmer that comes with the kit seperately from the stock dimmer you will be able to adjust the brightness of both the overlay and the needles/stock dash lights seperately to your tastes. Also i recommend using a little bit of glue to make sure the overlay lays completely flat otherwise it can interfere with your needles. If you install the overlay and your needles dont move or move all the way then dont panic; you probably didnt break them, they are probably catching on the overlay.
