for some reason the previous owner decided to put a oil cooler on my 98 GT. i pulled everything apart and it looks like the old gasket is flat in the groove but all the other gaskets look like they have a small lip. im leaking puddles of oil. my question is to know is there suppose to be a lip when this gasket is in place or completly smooth flat in the location? mine is flat with no lip.

        • Hi, This Ford Oil Cooler to Adapter Gasket Seal should sit in between the oil cooler and adapter flush with no lip.

            Works as advertised

This is the gasket that sits in-between the oil cooler and the adapter (the adapter mounts to the block). I have had a long-time leak in this area on my old '97 GT and after replacing this gasket, no more leaks. I wish I had done this years ago. Thanks AM!
