I have an 06 GT with an SR Performance 62mm twin throttle body, will it fit with the bigger throttle body? Also can I paint it? I want to paint it yellow and black to match my Mustang.

    Jchurchill

    • The Ford Performance Intake Plenum Cover is paintable, though minor prep work would be required. This should have no issues clearing a twin 62mm Throttle body.

Will this work with a Steeda strut tower brace?

    Rick

    • It indeed does fit! There is at least one example of this in the customer photos as well. You can find the strut tower brace in the link below: https://www.americanmuscle.com/stststtobr2.html

Fit I previously purchased a Stack strut tower brace. Does it fit with this accessory, the ford racing plenum cover?

    bigragu

    • I want to say that the last American Muscle show this month I saw the same set up. But I believe he did put some hardened steel washers down first to give the strut tower brace. Not much just a little and he had the clearance and it didn't interfere with the hood at all. Happy Motoring! HAPPY LABOR DAY enjoy it you have worked for it!

      Great! But be advised...

Plemum cover is a great addition to spruce up underhood styling! But be advised that this cover DOES NOT fit if you already have or are installing another brand throttle body. I was told when I purchased it that it would fit with the BBK twin 62 that I also purchased. It does not! You have to custom fit the cover by cutting off the "V" configuration on the front (I used a rotary cutting tool.) Once you smooth the edge straight acorss, it will lay perfectly across the top of the BBK throttle body. Also, I had to trim the collars that fit over the front bolts. You will also need to order the top throttle body bolts and nuts from a 2007 model, as the bolts are too short on '05 & '06 models. (Special order from Ford, which cost me another $26!) Once I conquered all the set-backs, the cover looks great!

      Frustrated

This product looks great. however, it does not come with the right bolts to complete the job. Getting sick of buying stuff from here and then having to either fabricate or buy parts to make things work. This time it was the two bolts that ford wants 18 dollars a PIECE. dissapointed in american muscle on this one for not including two simple bolts which will now cost me half the price of the actual intake cover.

      Looks great+easy to install

Took me about 5 min to install. Thats with having to take my strut brace off. Looks great and makes the engine bay look so much better. Next on the list is valve covers and the fuel rail covers. Thanks American Muscle. Love doing business with you.

      05-10 Plenum Cover V/6

Well I had seen this cover on a V/6 Mustang on You Tube and I thought I would try it on My 2010 V/6. Well it turn out better than I thought. Took it to a car show and several Mustang owners asked how I had done it. Needless to say it was a hit. I had been looking for a V/6 cover for awhile with no luck or they wanted $186 for a unpainted one. I just did a little cutting and adjusting and it fit great. Just take your time.

      Looks great!

A little on the high $ side for the material, but don't get me wrong, I do say it's worth it once installed. This cover really adds to the look of your 4.6; something I never understood Ford didn't do; relative to the boring stock plastic sitting a top your engine. If you're looking to start a dress up on your engine, start right here.

      racing plenum cover

It really looks alot better than just a stock black plenum. only problem for me was I had to trim the front because I have a throttle body spacer and the cover is held on by those bolts. A little trimming and it worked out.

Should come from the factory like this

I have a 2006 GT and have always thought the engine was missing something, appearance-wise. This plenum cover looks great and adds that finishing touch to the engine bay. Like others, I agree that a plastic cover shouldn't cost $100, but it does look good nonetheless. Superfast shipping and looks great. Wouldn't hesitate to order again!

      Looks Nice

Easy to install and looks nice. However the spacers in the front of cover where to small for stock throttle body screws. Had to make my own. Considering this is a product from Ford, I would have expected better QA.

2007 GT new intake plenum review

Installed quickly and looks great. Could have used some new fine thread nuts to attach the plenum to the hold down stud locations. A little pricey for a plastic plenum cover but okay. I had to remove my front tower strut brace to be able to put it under the brace but did not take very long to do so.

      Intake cover

The intake cover I purchased was very easy to install. It really dressed up the engine compartment and now I'm anxious to get the units to cover up the fuel rails. IRA recommend this cover to anybody looking to add a little Pizzazz to their compartment.
