This is the Ford racing cold air intake kit for the 2005-2009 Mustang V6. Hi, I’m Mike Wilson with AmericanMuscle.com, we’re going to show you what kind of horse power and torque numbers to expect when you combine this with a Bama performance 93 octane race tune. But first, we’re going to make a stock dyno run so we have some baseline horse power and torque numbers to start with. Stock, our 2005 V6 automatic put down 172 horse power, and 196 ft/lbs of torque. The Ford racing cold air intake kit replaces your factory restrictive air box, with a higher flow air filter and mass air housing, which will increase horse power, torque, acceleration, and give you a throaty engine sound. And with the Ford racing logo proudly displayed, it’ll increase the under hood appearance of your Mustang. Now we’re going to install this cold air intake, which should take less than an hour, and can be done with simple hand tools you have at home. Along with the cold air intake, we also installed one of our 93 octane Bama race tunes. A custom tune from Bama performance adjusts engine parameters to maximize performance, through optimized air/fuel ratio, spark advance, enhanced throttle response, and for automatics, increased shift firmness and adjustable shift points. Now let’s make another dyno run, and see what kind of horse power and torque numbers we get. With the Ford racing cold air intake and a Bama performance tune, our car put down 190 horse power and 221 ft/lbs of torque, we’re seeing gains of as much as 25 horse power and 36 ft/lbs of torque throughout the curve. So we installed the Ford racing cold air intake and a Bama performance tune using simple hand tools all in under an hour’s time, and picked up as much as 25 horse power and 36 ft/lbs of torque.
