    Ask a Question

It says that this block needs larger pistons. Do I need 5.0L pistons?

    sm34947

    • Yes, larger size 5.0l pistons specific for the modular 302 engines would be needed. This block is bare and only has a rough bore in it, so a .020-.030 " larger piston would be required in conjunction with custom machining to ensure a proper installation with this engine.

I'm currently rebuilding my Mach 1. I was going to get my heads block machined for new forged rods, pistons valve train etc... If I decided to use this block can I keep my machs 8 bolt crank? Can I keep my oem cams as well?

    MachJuan

    • This Ford Performance Boss Modular 5.0L Engine Block would use all the same parts on your existing 4.6L block. So you should be able to keep your existing crankshaft and camshafts.

Application. This Ford Racing Boss Modular 5.0L Engine Block is designed to be direct fit replacement for the stock 4.6L block of the 1996 to 2004 GT Mustang. So from this description this block will bolt directly into a 4.6 engine bay? No trans mods or engine mount mods?

    Bigdiezel79

    • The Ford Performance Boss Modular 5.0L Engine Block will bolt right up to your transmission without any modifications. You will be able to reuse your bell housing as well. You will not need to move or do any modifications to the engine mounts. This Block will bolt perfectly fine to their factory locations.

would this block fit on a 2010 gt 4.6 3v

    StephenR

    • This Ford Racing Boss Modular 5.0L Engine Block is designed to be direct fit replacement for the stock 4.6L block of the 1996 to 2004 GT Mustang. However with that being said it can be made to fit many other mustang years including the 2010 GT

I own a 2003 v6 and I'm looking into building a new engine for my car. Will this be a direct fit for my car or will I have to buy other things for it to fit directly in my engine bay?

    codysmith253

    • This would not be a direct fit for your 2003 V6 mustang. With installing this block, your engine builder will need to mill the deck and finish bore, then hone each bore specifically for the combination being installed. Also, it requires supporting GT parts to complete the engine build.

      Beware

There are no machine shops in my area that can mill the deck. Better make sure you have one because American Muscle won't let you return it. I know because i tried and was told ne returns. Now i have a block That's just setting.
