    Review & Install Video

Hey guys, I'm Justin with This video's designed to show you everything you need to know about the TPMS sensors in your 2015 and up Mustang, why you need them, how to order them, and how to sync them up to your ride. For those of who don't know, TPMS stands for tire pressure monitoring system, and it's something that was introduced on all cars in 2007. Now, the actual sensor itself is located on your valve stem. The sole purpose of this system and the sensor itself is to alert you, the driver, when tire pressures reach unsafe levels. Why do you need them? Well, if you purchase brand new after-market wheels and tires and you do not get the sensors installed, you will trigger a warning light on the dashboard. And depending on your state's laws, it might casue you to fail your local inspection. So that covers the what and the why. Now let's talk about how you order them. It's actually pretty simple. If you order any of our pre-built tire and wheel combo kits here at, or even the single wheel by themselves, you do get the option of either purchasing the TPMS sensors or the optional tool here from a dropdown menu. Now, one thing that is worth pointing out, if you have this tool from a previous generation Mustang or previous set of wheels, you do not need to order another one as it is universal. To start the syncing process with your 2015 and up Mustang, you're going to need the tool I just talked about along with your key fob. With the S197 you use the actual key to start the syncing process. But since the 2015 and up Mustangs utilize a start/stop button we'll use that instead. Before getting started, make sure your cell phone is turned off and that you're at least 20 feet from other vehicles, otherwise you might interfere with the syncing process. To start, press the brake pedal and then release it. After that, press the start/stop button three times, and on the third time, leave the car in the start or accessory-on position. Press the brake pedal again and release it. Repeat the process of hitting the start/stop button three times. On the third and final time, the car's horn should sound, letting you know you can start the syncing process. Leave the car in the start or accessory-on position. At this point, follow the directions on the dash. It will tell you what tire to train, starting with the front left or driver side tire. You'll need to aim the syncing tool at the valve stem making sure the arrow on the tool is aligned with the valve stem itself. Hold the green button down and wait for the horn to honk. This means the tire has been synced to your ride properly. Repeat that step for the right-front, right-rear and finally the left-rear. If you forget the order, just look at the display in the gauge cluster. It will tell you what tire to sync next. If everything is successful, you should see "training complete" on the dashboard, letting you know your TPMS sensors are functioning properly. As always, if you have any more questions about this process or need additional help, feel free to reach out to a Mustang expert anytime.

Turns Off Dash Light. Your S550 Mustang's Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) alerts you when the pressure drops to an unsafe limit. This a great safety feature, but if you plan on upgrading to a new set of rims you will need to install a set of sensors in your new wheels, if not you will have an annoying dash light constantly reminding you that your sensors are missing. This Ford Racing TPMS Sensors and Activation Tool Kit makes it possible to install new sensors into your new rims and sync them to your cars computer - eliminating that annoying dash light.

TPMS Transmitter Tool. The Ford Racing TPMS Transmitter is used to sync the new sensors to your cars computer after you have installed them onto your S550 Mustang. You simply point the transmitter at the wheel listen for the cars horn and move to the next tire - it is that easy.

Kit Contents. This Ford Racing TPMS Kit comes complete for use on four wheels and includes 4 Stem-Mounted TPMS Sensors and 1 TPMS Transmitter Tool. This kit makes it easy to switch between your stock rims and aftermarket rims at will. The TPMS Transmitter Tool can be purchased separately if you already have your sensors.

Important Tire Rotation Note. When rotating tires that are equipped with TPMS sensors, it is important to reuse the TPMS Transmitter Tool to recalibrate the sensors. By rotating your tires, you are changing the physical location of the sensors and your car's computer will need to update to be aware of this location change. Failure to do so will result in inaccurate and incorrect low tire pressure monitoring.

If I buy a wheel and tire setup do I have to get the sensors that you guy have with it to get them installed by you or can I buy this set by Ford performance, at the same time and still have them come installed with the set?

        • If purchased on the same order as the mounted and balanced wheels and tires, the Ford Performance TPMS Sensors and Activation Tool Kit will be installed in your wheels.

Are these metal valves or rubber? I know the rubber ones won't stand up to track day usage. Want to make sure before I order.

        • The Ford Performance TPMS Sensors utilize a rubber valve stem with a metal interior, just like the stock sensors.

I bought a set of 2017 Ford performance package wheels with factory TPMS sensors, can I pair them with my 2011 Mustang GT? or what should I do? Thanks!

        • The Ford Performance TPMS Sensors and Activation Tool Kit, and equivalent stock sensors will only work for 15+ Mustangs. The correct sensors will be required to for your Mustang to detect them.

I purchased the Shelby wheel and tire kits with Michelin tires for my 2017, How do I know what PSI to fill the tires to? Do I use what is recommended on the door of the car which would be for the stock tires. The new tires simply say do not exceed 52 PSI. The tires I received came filled to 35 PSI. How do I determine the correct PSI for these new tires?

        • We recommend following the recommended tire pressures on the door jamb for the optimal performance and longevity of the tires. You can adjust your preferred tire pressure around your driving habits, however, this could cause an abnormal wear in the tires.

Way cheaper than buying from your local stealership, why buy elsewhere when AM offers these for way less!

The TPMS sensors and activation tool worked great. It doesn't come with instructions on how to sync the TPMS sensors to your car, but follow the video instructions on this website and you'll be okay.

These are the same exact TMPS sensors my Mustang came with from the factory. Since I was putting the Chip Foose Outcast wheels on put new sensors on these wheels, so easy, programed easy and working great.

            Best quality

These are the better sensors for the S550’s. Sync them and forget about them. Not like the cheaper sensors that fade in and out and give you a fault.

            5 2017 V6 - FastEddy

            These Sensors Worked Perfectly

I own a 2017 Mustang V-6 and recently had occasion to purchase a set of used 2017 OEM Mustang 19" wheels off Craigslist for a whopping $300. All I needed were new tires and sensors. I bought this kit on recommendations from other people in the reviews. And I got to tell you, I couldn't be happier with this purchase. I kind of dreaded the fact that I would have to re-program these sensors to work on my Mustang. Well to my surprise, all that was needed was to have the sensors simply inserted into the new wheels. These sensors automatically talked to the computer on my car. There was no need to do any programming whatsoever!
