Description
Minimize Deflection and Improve Handling. Granatelli Motor Sports (GMS) created their Mustang Motor Mounts with two objectives in mind. The first is to dramatically reduce the engine deflection and drive line movement found with the stock mounts to increase engine response. The second is to drop the motor lower in the engine bay which lowers the center of gravity for improved handling performance. These two benefits make GMS Motor Mounts ideal for spirited street, track and race drivers.
Minimize Driveline Deflection. The stock OE motor mounts found on the S550 Mustangs use soft rubber bushings. These rubber bushings allow for engine and drive line movement which is fine for a soft comfortable ride, but not for the spirited driver. GMS Motor Mounts use high grade polyurethane bushings to reduce this excessive driveline and engine deflection, which results in an increase in engine response, quicker reaction times and more accurate shifts.
Improves Handling Performance. Granatelli Motor Sports engineered their Motor Mounts to drop your Mustang's engine 0.520 inches lower to the ground, effectively lowering its center of gravity. A lower center of gravity will make your Mustang much more stable, especially while taking a turn and will greatly improve its overall handling performance.
Quality Construction. GMS proudly manufactures their Motor Mounts right here in the USA. The mounting plate itself is constructed from carbon steel for superior strength, while the spacers are CNC-machined from high quality billet aluminum for light weight and durability. Lighter and stronger than the stock rubber and steel mounts, these GMS Motor Mounts will provide years of trouble free driving performance.
Polyurethane Bushings. Granatelli Motor Sports designed their Motor Mounts using Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings. The included polyurethane bushings are considerably stiffer than the soft factory rubber bushings for a dramatic increase in handling performance. While being stiffer than stock you will see a negligible increase in NVH (Noise, Vibration and Harshness).
