    So the Shelby GT500 Rear Valence I've got here today is gonna be a great option for any '13 or '14 owners out there that are looking to make a huge change out back, a little homage to the legendary GT500, and either for someone that wants an Axle Back or a Cat-Back with quad tips because you're gonna need this to complete the look. I'll throw it out there that the install isn't bad, but it's not gonna be for the faint of heart because you're gonna need to do some cutting, but it's not scary at all. We're gonna walk you through it and it is gonna call for two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here, and about a three hour job. So your 2013 to 2014 looks great on its own, it picked up a mild refreshed outback from 2012 with its tail lights, so why bother, right? Well, first and foremost the rear valence on the GT500 just looks bad ass, it's a great way to add some style, but if you're one of the owners out there that's dead set on running a quad tip exit Cat-Back or Axle Back, you're not into the idea of playing operation cutting up your factory bumper, this is gonna be the option for you. Purpose aside here guys, this looks mean, it's more aggressive, it pops and it's gonna complement anything else you might have on your car and the pictures on the product page really just don't do it justice. Now, I'll throw it out there that we have this on Justin's 2014 GT with a set of wheels, slight drop maybe some side skirts, it just sets it off. Everything plays really nicer together. Now, toss a GT500 spoiler at it then you're looking at a win win combination. So we're all car people here and if you're watching this video I'm gonna take a wild guess and say that you are too and we're all gonna find ways to modern our cars any way we see fit, and Rear Valences here guys are just great ways to improve the overall look and execution of your car. Now, not to mention most if not all drivers on the road are gonna be looking at your rear end, so why not? So you've got some great reasons why you might wanna throw this onto your '13 or '14 so let's take a closer look at what this sucker is made out of. With aftermarket Ford parts, you should expect showroom quality materials. This valence is exactly what came on the Shelby from the factory and that's what you're gonna get. Now, this is an OE quality high pressure injection molded thermal plastic, which just means that it's strong. Now, on the surface you're gonna be looking at a factory style grain-texture which is also durable so you're not gonna have to worry about bits of rubber or anything coming off the road hitting it. Now, if you want to take it a step further then you could definitely have a color match, but I think it looks great on its own against any color Mustang. Now, in terms of the pricing though, whenever I hear Ford parts I usually prepare to pay a little bit extra, but that's really not gonna be the case with this. You're looking at just shy of 300 bucks and all I know it's not the most inexpensive option out there. Consider that this was factory equipment on the GT500 that co-rank close to 60,000 depending on how you optioned it. But on the flip side here, if you're after a valence and you're looking to spend a little bit less there are a few other options out there for Roush or MMD, but their orientation is slightly different. The Roush really is meant for square exhaust tips and I honestly think it just looks a little bit off with round tips. And the MMD can only accommodate a dual tip set up. So for what it's worth here guys, the GT500 really just takes the cake. Installwise, like I mentioned up top this is gonna call for two out of three wrenches on our difficulty meter here and about a two to three hour job because there's going to be some cutting. Now, this isn't anything nuts here guys, we're talking taking a dremel or a body saw. But here's the kicker guys, Ford actually mark the back side of your current factory of valence which is gonna show you exactly where you need to cut to accomplish this. But either way, you're just going to need a basic socket set, pliers, and a jack and stands to get the job done. So you begin by getting your rear end off the ground, you don't wanna get it to your trunk and then unscrew the plastic screws and fasteners from the back plastic panel, lift that up and then disconnect the taillight harness. Once you're done there move on to removing the three screws from the rear splash guard and if need be you can remove your factory wheels, but it's not necessary. So along the inside Ford more or less conveniently drew a little line for where you'd need to cut the bumper. Assuming you're pairing this with a quad exhaust you're gonna need to pull your Axle Back or Cat-Back which can be done pretty easily, but we're gonna focus on getting the valence on. Now, from inside the bumper you're gonna wanna remove the two reflectors and black trim and this can be done easily with a pair of pliers by essentially just compressing the clips, and the reflectors will go back in, but the black trim can also be set aside or trashed. So once that's done guys, the hard work is more or less out of the way and you're on your way to getting your new valence on which will easily snap in to place. Now, with the taillights removed it's going to help to easily get that back on into place and you gonna wanna push from the middle to the outside. After that, work on reinstalling your taillight harness, reinstall your push pins on the plastic arms, reinstall the lights, get your trunk and back together and that's it. So that's gonna wrap things up with Ford Shelby GT500 Rear Valence fitting the 2013 and 2014 Mustang, that can be found right here at americanmuscle.com.

    Will this fit in a 2014 gt/cs?

    • Yes, However modifications will be required, You will need to cut and remove the lower section of the cover and cut slits to retain the valance. Fortunately Ford pre-marked the backside of the factory fascia cover showing exactly where you need to cut making the job much easier.

    Will this work without quad exhaust?? Will it look ok with just dual??

    • The Ford Shelby GT500 Rear Valance will still physically install on the bumper without a quad exhaust, However depending on the width of your dual exhaust tips it could leave a considerably large gap.

    • This Ford Shelby GT500 Rear Valance is specifically designed for the 2013-14 models and will not fit your 2012 GT, due to the slight rear-end body differences Ford did for the 13-14 models.

      Great fit with 2018 Roush Quad tips

      Originally had 2014 Roush single tip Axle-back on. Added the GT500 diffuser and replaced the Roush single tips with Roush 2018 Quad tips. Slotted right on, alignment perfect and retains the gorgeous Roush sound! Great result on my 2014 GT.

      Great product

      Great OEM quality, looks fantastic. I used a Dremel with a plastic cutting wheel to trim the bumper cover. However, as others have stated, you can’t get in there from the inside. I drilled holes every 2” or so and cut from the outside and connected the dots. Worked well and had no issues. Your cut line doesn’t need to be cleaned up all too much because the cut will be 100 covered by the valance. Looks great, totally worth it

      Not to bad of an install. Its one of those that if you use the right tools, your life will be easier. I say it took an afternoon, but more like 2 hours to get it all perfect.

      Way better!

      Gotta love the way the quad tips look, way better than the normal bland nothing it comes with. Install was pretty easy, didn't even use a saw or whatever, used a real sharp knife and it took a bit longer but got the job done!

      Doesn't fit properly!!

      I love the way it looks I painted it also gloss black which makes it look 10x better! But my only issue is that the clips aren't locking into place.

      Install on the valance had me extremely nervous since I was going to be cutting a perfectly good bumper but was actually not that bad just took time and followed the line provided by ford and everything went easy there's a great video on the install over at CJ ponie parts American muscle could stand to do one as such themselves but overall wouldn't take to a shop do it yourself and save the money it's not hard just take your time

      When I got it I was a little scared at first to cut my bumper, but once I started I just took my time and it came out great. The fitment was great I mean it's a factory piece from ford so it should fit.

      Perfect fit and looks great.

      Once you start taking everything off, it doesn't take long to finish the job. I would say ah the most it takes 2-3 hours. You have wiggle room for the cutting the previous bumper and making the holes for the clips and it comes out perfect.

      Nice Rear Valance, missing some hardware

      Install for this valance is very straight forward. You remove the bumper and cut along the lines on the back to make this valance fit. I used a combination of a drill, sawzall, and dremel and didn't really have any issues. One thing that is missing though is there should be 2 bumper retainer fasteners included with this valance. They go on the outer most edge at each side of the valance, and while they are not required, they make the valance fit better. I improvised by going to autozone and finding bumper fasteners that would work. The packaging of this valance could also be better. Mine had a few minor scratches on it but nothing noticeable until you were right up on the car so I let it slide. All in all though this is a nice valance if you want to go the quad tip route.

      Nice addition!

      2-3 hour install. Ford embosses the inside of the bumper so you know where to cut. Run down to staples and get a gold sharpie and trace the embossed line. Slot cut outs require a 5 thirty seconds drill bit. Oh and don't forget the air saw. This isn't a project you can do with your dad's scroll saw.

      Looks amazing and easy to install!!

      I was able to knock this out myself in about 2 hours and that's being very careful and very precise when cutting my bumper. It can be nerve wrecking but just stay calm and take your time. Taking off the bumper makes it 10x times easier to work with. I'd definitely recommend this and the Magnaflow Quad tips to ANYONE!!

      A Mean Look and Appearance

      I got this order and sat in my garage for about two months. After I had a free time, I started working on it. It took me around 2 hours to finish it. It was really easy to remove the bumper, and taking out the tail lights really helped. After I installed it. My car looked aggressive and mean. I love the valance of the GT500. It give th car a more sporty look and muscular. This along with the GT500 Spoiler well look dope on your mustang.

      Excellent sound, great looks

      The fit is perfect, my 14 GT Track Pack is white so adding the pebble finish black valance really breaks up the white and looks much classier than the stock valance. The stock Ford GT500 slant cut quad tip mufflers were easy to install and adjust so they fit the cut outs perfectly, took about 3 hours on my hoist as I took my time - easy to follow the lines molded in by Ford. The sound is awesome - thunder while hammer down but no drone in the car cruising at 2K rpm - highly recommend this mod.

      Valance and Exhaust look Great! Not the easiest thing to install

      Overall I am very satisfied with how the valance and exhaust look on my car. It changed the rear appearance significantly, and the new exhaust I installed along with the valance sounds great! Can't go wrong with GT500 styling! The install process was not painless. It took me a long time to properly cut out all of the slits in the bumper to fit the valance. I tried to find a proper cutting tool for cutting plastics, but the closest I could come up with was using a dremel (not a good idea). Although it did the job, some of the cut outs look sloppy; but it did the job. The valance is still securely connected, and obviously you won't see the cut outs once the valance is installed. You will also need to go to autozone or o'reillys to purchase bumper fasteners for the bottom portion of the valance (they are not included). I think they cost me $5, so no big deal. For anyone looking to purchase this, I would recommend buying a proper cutting tool. I am still looking for one for my future mods.
