      Review & Installation Video

This is a SpeedForm GT/CS Style Rear Spoiler that comes pre-painted for you and it fits 2015 and newer Mustangs. This is something that you should check out if you're looking for a pre-painted spoiler that offers a different type of look than the typical spoiler does. Most aftermarket spoilers connect to the trunk lid all the way around. But this is a pedestal type so it lifts off the trunk lid and you have some air space here, making this look more like a rear wing, just like what you'd see on a California Special car. And there aren't many spoiler options out there right now that'll come pre-painted for you. This is also gonna be for someone that doesn't mind drilling for the install since this will require a little bit of that. But speaking of the install, this is gonna be a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter because of that drilling, and you can expect to spend two hours getting this installed. The spoiler will be prepped and painted here at American Muscle prior to shipping out to you. And we use the same base and clear coat that Ford uses, which means that this will match your car's paint perfectly. When you place your order, you just need to have your paint code ready. And if you aren't sure of the code or the name of the paint, you can always find it on the inside of the driver's door. One thing that I did wanna mention here is that this not only is one the few currently available pre-painted spoilers but it's not even on the expensive side either. Normally, you can expect pre-painted parts to cost more because of the labor and the paint that goes into them, but this spoiler still has an average price point. So this is a California Special style spoiler and, looks-wise, it's gonna replicate that pretty well.Like I mentioned earlier, this does sit off and off of the trunk lid, but it doesn't sit high, and from the right angle, you can hardly tell. That means that it's not going to block your view in your rear view mirror and it's more subtle, different look than an in-your-face tall wing would be. It's made from a blow-molded ABS material. So it's made from a piece of ABS that's blow-molded, and ABS is known to be very lightweight and durable. It's also easily painted, which is always a plus when you're getting a pre-painted part. And of course, durability is always a nice thing for an exterior part. When it comes to fitment, this is gonna fit all 2015 and newer Mustangs, so the V6, the EcoBoost, the GT, and even the GT350 if you wanted it to. You get everything you need for the install, so your spoiler, drilling templates, and your hardware. Even if you already have the factory spoiler, you're looking at needing to drill for the install here. No matter what model you have, you need to drill. The template will help you find the proper location for your drilling holes. If you have a factory spoiler, just know that the holes from that spoiler will be exposed once you install this. So you're looking at needing to take care of those. You can expect to pay a little over the $400 mark for this spoiler, for a pre-painted part, and this isn't a bad price at all. Most spoilers for the S550 cost between $300 and $400 unless you're looking at a carbon fiber option. In that case, the carbon fiber does cost more. But generally speaking, $25 more for a pre-painted part is a really good deal in my opinion. When it comes to the install, like I mentioned earlier, this isn't necessarily a hard one, but you are looking at needing to drill. This is gonna be a two out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter because of that drilling. You can plan on spending two hours on the install. The spoiler does install with both hardware and 3M tapes so you're gonna want the paint as clean as possible. There are some alcohol prep pads to help you clean the paint and infusion promoter as well to help create a good bond between the 3M tape and the paint. That, paired with the bolts and washers, will help the spoilers stay in place. If you have a stock spoiler on your car, you need to remove it and remove the adhesive that will be remaining on the car. You need to pull the deck wing trim panel to do this. The drilling template will have a centered piece of contact. You wanna center all four drilling templates over each of the four spoiler mounting points. You'll then test for the spoiler and center it on the deck lid. Tape the template to the deck lid and remove the spoiler. Use the template to drill the center of the template holes and then clean the deck lid with the supplied alcohol prep pads. Apply adhesion promoter and then you're ready to remove the backing on the 3M tape and press the spoiler into place. After that, you're just looking at getting hardware into place and reinstalling the deck wing trim panel. That's gonna wrap things up for the pre-painted GT/CS Style Rear Spoiler for the 2015 and newer Mustang. As always, you can check it out more online right here at

        Good product, needs improvement

The product is great and matches the paint perfectly. However, the instructions leave something to be desired. There isn't much information beyond the several sentences and the difficulty is installing the screws. The "template" should have been the shape of the attachment points and there should be information on how you get the screws in without dropping them into the trunk chambers. It can be done but a tel tale way to install should be written in. Took much longer than expected but it is in and looks good.

3 2016 EcoBoost - MigdaliaM Installation Time: Afternoon

Not as easy as people think on install

The pre-painted GT/CS spoiler is very nice, however, did not come with a template which made it very difficult to install as we had to eyeball center of wing. Also, be prepared to drill 4 extra holes and at the end of the day, you are left with 3 holes to deal with on how to cover up. Very disappointed.

Big difference in the handling of the car

Great fin looks awesome and really holds the car to the road. Be aware that there are holes on your deck lid that will need to be filled in and painted prior to installing the fin. There are also two holes that you need to drill. Glad I chose this one

This Spoiler Makes My Mustang Pop

I agonized over whether or not I wanted a read spoiler for my 2017 Mustang V-6. I didn't want to have holes drilled in my trunk. Yet, the mustang looked neutered to me without a rear spoiler. I finally decided to go with the SpeedForm GT/CS Style Rear Spoiler from American Muscle. I went with the pre-painted one in Shadow Black to make my white mustang pop. I felt that without the factory stripes and spoiler, this white car looked like a mini ice berg going down the road. My body shop installed it for $100. The spoiler was delivered very quickly. I would recommend to product to anyone considering it.

Will this spoiler fit 2018 GT convertible?

      • This SpeedForm GT/CS Style Rear Spoiler will work on all 15-18 models yes.

The product title on the website specifies (15-18 Fastback) yet one of the QA mentions it will fit the convertible. Before I lay out $500 please confirm this will work on the convertible with the spoiler delete (performance Package) and not block the third brake light...Its the one I want but need to be extra sure. Thanks

      • We apologize for the confusion. This part was tested on the fastback models but you can install this on a convertible modely but it may require more drilling than the fastback models.

I have a factory spoiler - any suggestions on plugging the factory holes if I were to get this? Are there any other spoilers (not just pedestal like this) that will cover factory holes? Thanks!

      • If you are replacing the factory spoiler with the SpeedForm GT/CS Style Rear Spoiler, the factory holes will be exposed. We recommend taking the car to a body shop in order to get the holes properly filled to ensure no moisture gets inside the trunk.

if I I have a 2018 Mustang GT base model that came with a spoiler that's basically mounted on the trunk if you know what I mean. If I buy this spoiler I would most likely take the car to a body shop to have it installed. Do you know if there's extra holes that would need to be filled in once this is mounted, and would the body shop need to either touch up the paint under the old spoiler or have to paint the trunk lid? I'm looking at all my options at this point in regard to the added cost for mounting and paint. Thanks for your help

      • Even if your vehicle has a spoiler from factory, additional drilling will be required. As such, the body shop would have to fill the remaining holes and touch up the paint appropriately.

My car, 2018 ECO coupe, came with the "stock" spoiler so there are "holes" already in the trunk lid. First, will this fit my 2018 mustang? Think that it will. But, when I look at "2018" in your online, my color, Orange Fury, is not listed. It IS listed for the 2019 so I THINK it would work. Then, I don't mind drilling MORE holes. But, Will it cover existing holes including "center" holes?? Thanks, this looks like what I want, Gary 1 answer
