iPad Mini Dash Mount Kit. The blue tooth connectivity of the Ford Sync system already makes it easy to connect your Apple iPad Mini to your 2010-2014 Mustang's sound system, but there is no place to safely mount your iPad. If you're tired of your iPad sliding off the seat every time you come to a stop you need to get yourself an iPad Dash Mount Kit. This iPad Dash Mount installs over top of your Mustang's radio/navigation face plate for a totally OEM appearance. But, seeing it is only attached with neodymium magnets it can easily be removed with no interference with the operation of your stereo or navigation.

Straight Forward Installation. Installation is straight forward, but will require removing the stock radio/navigation face plate in order to adhere neodymium magnets to the back. The neodymium magnets will keep the iPad Dash Mount securely in place. After the magnets have been attached, the face plate will be re-installed as normal. The installation process will take about two hours to complete with no drilling or cutting required.

Application. This iPad Mini Dash Mount Kit is designed for use with all 2010-2014 Ford Mustangs including the V6, GT, Boss and Shelby GT500 models. An iPad is not included, please choose your style of iPad Mini from the options listed above.

If I put in a carbon fiber interior and stick the iPad dash kit onto the interior will it mess up the vinyl ?

    JordanB

    • Hi! The iPad Mini Dash Mount Kit replaces your radio front face plate. This shouldn't damage the vinyl because it isn't sitting on top of your stock face plate, it is fully replacing that area.

Is there a way to keep the tablet plugged and charging while its' in the dash mount. The pictures do not show anywhere to keep the unit plugged in, rather it looks like it's running on battery power while held by magnets without ample clearance to plug in a cable.

    JayL

    • According to the AM rep I spoke with, you have to remove the iPad each time it needs charging. Definitely a deal breaker, $350 for an iPad holder essentially.

Do you need to get the iPad with cellular to get the gps to work?

    LawrenceL

    • It is possible to use GPS on your iPad without data, but you will need to download the maps for your region.

Will this fit the 9.7 in iPad mini 4?

    SmithD

    • The iPad Mini Dash Mount Kit is designed for the Ipad mini 4, 7.9" diagonal screen. The larger screens such as the 9.7" screens will not fit int he dash mount kit.

      Great, but..

The good- This is an awesome product. Took me about an hour to install. VIdeos and reviews on youtube made for enough instructions. I love having an ipad that has so many more features than traditional options. The bad- It is crazy expensive. Then factor in the price of an ipad. Also it is summertime now and I have found that it gets super hot and the ipad begins to overheat. There is really nothing you can do about it but take your ipad off and wait for it to cool down. Defeats the purpose..

      Not worth the money

I got a different piece than the one they have in the pictures and it came with really confusing instructions. The magnets kept falling, the plastic is easily scratched and the ipad keeps slipping off everytime I accelerate.

      Absolute Garbage

Save your hard-earned cheddar and spend it on something else. This thing is made from something like sawdust and glue and has overall cheesy quality. It limits your options and doesn't let you use the flash port on your iPad for audio nor charging. If this piece had a way to route the USB-flash connector cable from behind this mount kit and it was made with better quality materials, this product would be a much better sell. If I could give it zero stars, I would. Too much $$$.

      Ipad mini 4 Dashkit

A little disappointed in the quality of the piece considering I bumped one of the magnets of the back and it snapped off. It was easily glued back on and works just fine. Install took less than 1 hour. Looks really good now that everything is all put together.

      iPad slips out

I bought this a couple weeks ago. I've been using it daily, what really annoys me is that the iPad slips whenever I accelerate and the iPad falls hard onto the center console . Good news is the iPad screen hasn't broke , I think the kit should include a stronger and additional madnet to hold the iPad in place.

      Ipad mini mount

My dad got one for his mustang and it totally looks stock. It gives the interior a pretty nice refined look . Looking to buy one my self now.

      Feels cheap

Just installed this in my car. It looks cool but I must say, I'm less than impressed... Especially with the steep price tag of $350. Feel's super cheap. I havent done any spirited driving with it mounted yet, but I can already tell the Ipad will more than likely fall out of the mount when I do. I wouldnt buy this again unless it was priced under $200

      Super easy, super good looking!

Very easy install, you have to remove your radio face but that was much easier than anticipated. Only took me about 30 minutes all said and done. Once the mount is installed it looks great, you can remove the mount easily if you want a stock look. The only knock that I have is that it isn't easy to remove the iPad once it's in place.

      Do it right

For $200 more than the iPad and the Mounting Kit go by an in-dash screen and never have to worry about things ever again.
