    Review & Installation Video

    Review & Install Video

I’m Justin with, and we’re here with this, our appearance bolt on build up, for all 05-09 V6 Mustangs. The objective with this pack was to take our average looking V6, to the next level and beyond. We bolted on and installed over 20 different appearance parts, ranging from some smoked lighting from Raxiom, to AmericanMuscle Graphics tint vinyl, also a few different parts from MMD, like their black Billet aluminum fuel door, and their rear deck lid panel just to name a few. However, we think there are a couple of parts that really set the tone for our build, so let’s get into them. First we’ve got these MMD retro style mirrors which honestly are a night and day difference versus your old factory mirrors. As you can see we did decide to leave these unpainted, showing off that matte black finish, which really breaks up our competition orange paint job, and flows nicely with some of our other black accents on the car. There is a little bit of work getting these installed, you do have to transfer over your factory motors, and your wiring harness from your old mirrors, onto your new units. Honestly it’s just a couple of nuts and bolts, only took us an hour or two. Moving on to another part from MMD which really made our build, these Eleanor style pre-painted louvers. Any Mustang fan should know the name Eleanor pretty well, and I for one really dig the look these louvers give to any Mustang, whether it’s a V6, a GT, or certain silver 1967 GT500. That pre painted convenience is pretty good as well, you basically get them out of the box, prep the area, and slap them on, it’s just that easy. No more waiting, no more phone calls to your paint guy, and best of all, a perfect color match every time. Checking out the back of the car here you’ll notice a little forward thinking from Raxiom, I’m referring to these smoked coyote tail lights which you might have guessed are inspired from the 11 and 12 coyote Mustangs, and honestly they look right at home here on our S197 here as well. Of course, going with that smoked look was pretty much a no brainer considering all the black accents on our build, however what you won’t notice until you see these tail lights in action is this. That’s right, we’ve added the very cool sequential plug and play tail light kit as well, which is really going to crank up that cool factor. Alright, when it finally came time for new wheels and tires we decided to go big, literally. We ditched those puny 16” factory wheels in favor of these 18” staggered gloss black GT500 style wheels, along with some new rubber from Sumitomo. This wheel and tire package could have single handedly changed the entire attitude of our V6, on their own, but along with some of our other appearance mods that we’ve added today, well, I’m sure you can see the results speak for themselves. So the goal of this bolt on build up is simple in theory, but not always that easy to execute. You can’t just slap a bunch of random appearance parts on your V6 and expect it to look great. That’s why every part used with our build was well thought out and carefully selected, to help us achieve that look that blends a little bit of retro, with some of that modern in your face styling, and frankly we’re happy with the results. So that wraps up our appearance bolt on build up with our 05 V6 here, be sure to check out some of our other 05-09 V6 bolt on build ups, where we address our handling, and improve our acceleration and overall performance.

Where does rain water go when driving a vehicle with this product?

        • Some rainwater may enter through the scoops, however this will be minimal and should land somewhere around the throttle body area. The majority will not enter as the hood scoops are facing forward with minimal vertical opening.

            Love the Hood

I had the local Ford Dealer paint and install. They said it was easy to paint. It looks REALLY great, even better than I thought it would.

            Nice Concept

I put the hood on and took it to the body shop. They liked it and said it looks like a good quality hood and easy to see over to drive, it replaced a 4" cowl hood that looked real good but was tough to see over!!!

            Awsome Product!

Great Hood, Love the look. Easy Install and the prep before paint was only a wet sand and scuffed with a scotty pad. No alignment was needed. Bolted right up. Used the Washer nozzle relocation kit to prevent drilling holes. No hood pins needed. a nice fit. Just as tight as the factory hood!

            Very Good!

Excellent Fitment and looks good. However, I wish there was a way to route the windshield washer lines. Regardless, its a great product. I always work with American Muscle for their quality products and super fast shipping.

            Concept style hood

The hood looks beautiful fit perfectly the way it should. I would suggest to get the squirter nozzle kit so u don't have to drill any wholes on your hood. Look cleaner that way. The front wholes don't have nothing to protect anything from coming into the engine bay while driving. Would get some kind of wire mesh to cover it from the inside. Overall the hood came in perfectly undamaged and look great on my car.

            New Hood

New hood looks great on the car. It give a more aggressive appearance. Only 1 thing I do not like is there is no mlding or insert to go into front slats. There is a clear view of the motor inside. Other than that, I am very pleased with the fit of the hood and the appearance it gives my Mustang

            Good Quality

The shop that painted and installed the hood stated that there were pin-holes that had to be worked out. The shop rated the delivered product as 8.5 out of 10. The fit was perfect. As you can see, I would rate the finished product as a 10! Also buy the washer kit, it will keep you from having to punch holes in the hood for the sprayers. The hood looks a lot better without them.
