MBRP Race Cat-Back Exhaust box


a. (2) Exhaust tips.
b. Right and left muffler assembly and intermediate pipes.
c. (2) Pipe clamps.
d. H pipe assembly.


Note 1: Before view shown with frame braces already removed.

2. Removal of stock exhaust system Instructions.


2.1 Remove the (2) frame braces using a 5/8” Drive Deep socket, socket extension and socket wrench. There are (16) bolts in total holding the two frame braces in place.

Note 1: This step is for convertible Mustang and may not be on your model. Skip to step 2.2 for the beginning of the stock exhaust system removal.


2.2 Remove/loosen (2) bolts from the (2) resonator assembly couplers using the 5/8” deep well socket and socket wrench.

Note 1: The couplers does do not come off, just the bolts to allow for removal of stock exhaust system.


2.3 Remove right and left intermediate pipe brackets using the 1/2” socket and socket wrench.

Note 1: Once bolts are completely removed the brackets will remain in place by hooks.


2.4 Remove the right and left muffler assembly bracket bolts using the 1/2” socket, extension and socket wrench.

Note 1: Once bolts are completely removed the stock exhaust will be held up by the hooks on the brackets.


2.5 Remove the stock exhaust system by unhooking the right and left intermediate pipe brackets and right and left muffler assembly brackets. Lower the exhaust and pull to the rear of the vehicle and it will easily come out of the couplers.

Note1: Removing stock exhaust system should be an easy removal with very little force needed once brackets and coupler bolts are removed.

3. Installation MBRP Race Cat-back Exhaust Instructions


3.1 Place the brackets used from the stock exhaust system onto the MBRP Race Cat-Back Exhaust system.


3.2 Insert left and right muffler assembly, intermediate pipes to the H pipe (without the exhaust tips), tighten the clamps just enough to keep in connected during install.

Note 1: Do not tighten Brackets from the intermediate pipes to the H pipe. You will have to adjust the intermediate pipes so they don’t hang too low after you install it.






Note1: Ensure the bracket are positioned to the side of the pipe and not below.


3.8 After intermediate pipes are adjusted, install pipe tips, adjust by twisting clockwise and counter clockwise.

Note 1: Ensure the separation of the exhaust tip in the exhaust tip hole of the bumper, is even all the way around.


3.9 Exhaust tip bumper clearance view 1, Exhaust tip bumper clearance view 2.


3.10 MBRP Exhaust installation complete.

4. Install frame braces (If applicable).
