Hey, guys, Stephanie with, here with an overview of the Mishimoto Strut Tower Brace for 2015 and up S550 Mustangs. In this video, we're gonna be talking about the materials and construction of the Strut Tower Brace and a little about the install as well. This is an easy install. It's gonna be a one out of three wrenches in the difficulty meter, but I'll go through the install in more detail later. This Strut Tower Brace is the perfect option for the S550 owners that are looking to add the benefits of a strut tower brace but that want something different than the standard parallel beam design. A strut tower brace does have some handling benefits but it also has an impact on underhood styling as well. This brace looks much different than any other on the market right now, and it leaves much more room in the engine bay than the typical design. The thought process behind a strut tower brace is that it can tighten up some of the freedom that the front end has, since the strut tower brace is gonna help stiffen the front suspension of the Mustang by providing added support to the strut towers and preventing flex during cornering. This is gonna make the chassis more rigid, which will result in better handling because eliminating the flex in the strut towers will work to maintain a flat tire on the ground at all times, giving you as full of a contact patch as possible. This brace is made from 14-gauge steel tubing and it has CNC steel end plates, installed using the inner bolts of the strut tower. I mentioned this earlier, but this brace is gonna be different than other options out there right now because it has a single tube design instead of the parallel beam design. Other strut tower braces are much wider than this one is. So this is gonna have a much different look and be less obtrusive under the hood, in my opinion. This brace will work on all 2015 and up GT and EcoBoost Mustangs, no matter the package or the trim of the car. By that I mean it'll work with or without the stock performance package K-brace, but it does work best, performance wise, with the help of that K-brace, just like any other strut tower brace would. And it does come with the spacer for the nonperformance pack cars. Of course, this is powdered coated black and comes with Mishimoto's lifetime warranty. Keep in mind that like a lot of other suspension parts, a strut tower brace is gonna make a noticeable improvement by itself, even on a completely stock car. But as usual, remember that this is only one component of the suspension and the improvements of the brace can be even more considerable when you start pairing it with other suspension mods. Once you start making other suspension upgrades, the strut tower brace will work to keep everything tied together and feeling tight and more stable. This means overall more consistent suspension, no matter what you're doing with your car. As far as price, this brace is one of the more affordable options. It's priced very closely to the Steeda [SP] and the Ford racing black braces with that parallel beam design, so you can expect to pay around $200. One thing to keep in mind when you're shopping for strut tower braces, is your future mods. So just be sure to shop around for a taller brace if you plan on things like super chargers or taller manifold. If we move on to the install, this is an easy install that anyone is able to tackle by themselves in the driveway or the garage. It should take less than an hour to complete. I'm gonna call it a one out of three wrenches on the scale. You won't need any tools out of the ordinary, just a 13 millimeter socket with a ratchet. The instructions are very easy here. The brace installs with only two bolts on each side. The two nuts that are on each side of the strut mount, just back the nuts off of the studs here and place the brace on the studs. You align the brace by centering the studs in the brace holes. I'm gonna loosely thread the nuts back onto the studs, and once the brace is aligned, you can fully tighten down the nuts and that's all it's gonna take. I would take the car for a quick test drive to make sure everything feels okay and then go from there. Wrapping things up here with the Mishimoto strut tower brace. This is a brace that leaves a little bit more room under the hood, thanks to its single 14-gauge steel tube design that's powdered coated black. Easy Installation. Mishimoto's Strut Brace is designed to install easily onto the inner bolts of your S550's strut towers. All necessary mounting hardware and installation instructions are included. This Mishimoto brace adds the structural strength you want without taking up too much room in your engine bay. Unlike other strut tower braces, this one allows easy access to the dipstick on your GT model Mustang.

Application. Covered under their Lifetime Warranty, this black Mishimoto Strut Tower Brace fits all 2015-2018 GT and EcoBoost Mustangs. Not compatible with V6 or GT350 models.

Technical Note. Usage of this Strut Tower Brace is legal for most autocross classes.

Do the make a brace that will fit my 3.7liter V6 2017


  • At this time, the Mishimoto Strut Tower Brace only clears the GT and Ecoboost engines, and Mishimoto does not have an offering that clears the V6 intake manifold.

Does this strut brace fits a 2017 right-hand-drive mustang GT, with the battery pack on the left hand side of the car( when looking ahead ) ?


  • The Mishimoto Strut Tower Brace was designed on the LHD US spec Mustang, and has not been tested on RHD models. This expected to fit, but has not been tested.

    Awesome easy upgrade

    Mishimoto strut tower brace fit , looks and performs perfect. Made to clear my Mishimoto catch can and my oil cap race breather. 20 min install, combined with my SR Lowering Springs and the BAR K-member brace, my S550 front end is tight, steering feels direct and No braking nose dive. Highly recommend this!!!
