Justin: If you're looking for one of the most unique and popular front grille options for that 2015 through '17 Mustang, well then the V-Series upper grille here might just be the ticket. Now, the MMD V-Series grille will combine an injection molded plastic construction with a very cool horizontal bar design, all for right around 200 bucks. Now, the grille itself will install without the need for any cutting or permanent modification, but seeing as though that front bumper will need to come off first, the site is gonna knock this one up to a soft two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, and take you a couple of hours to complete from start to finish, as we will demonstrate a little later in the video. So, I actually remember when the V-Series parts first came onto the scene a few years ago, I was with the 2015 V-Series Mustang at the SEMA Show, where the car and all of the parts were revealed and immediately stole the show. Now, at the time, there was really nothing like the grilles, or the chin spoiler, or that very aggressive rear spoiler for the S550, and as such, they all became very very popular. Now, fast forward a little bit, and the V-Series grille here is still killing it with well over 100 reviews, and a perfect 5 out of 5 rating, which let me tell you, is not an easy task. Now, as far as what actually makes this option just so darn popular here on the site, I would say the biggie is no doubt the design, right? Again, there's really nothing quite like it in the category, featuring that horizontal bar design here in the center with the twin snorkels on the end. That not only completely changes the look of the front end, but also really opens up the front end of the car for increased airflow and increased cooling. Now, I will say, that look is only increased or magnified when you pair up the upper grille with the matching lower, which by the way, you can also find here on the site as well. But appearance aside, the grille is also built extremely well using original Ford CAD data, which means, it's going to fit like a factory piece. Materials, again, here gang, is going to be that thermal plastic or injection molded TPO material, which will be up to the task of handling any abuses or rocks the front end of your Mustang will typically encounter while on the road. Now, that TPO material is given the slightest texture here with the grille itself, obviously done up in black, which by the way, completely eliminates that factory running pony emblem for a much cleaner look. Now, quick heads up here, guys, the MMD V-Series grille is unfortunately not gonna be compatible with the factory adaptive cruise control feature found on some of the higher end cars, so just keep that in mind before pulling the trigger. But now comes the point in the video where we wanna show you just what it takes to get everything installed on your ride at home. So, to do so, here is that detailed walkthrough along with a quick tool breakdown.Man: The tools used for this install are 1/4-inch ratchet, 1/4-inch impact driver, 7-millimeter socket, 8-millimeter socket, a clip removal tool, a Phillips-head screwdriver, and a small flat-head screwdriver. So, the first step of this install is gonna be to get underneath the vehicle and remove the belly pan that you can see right behind me. There are about 20 screws and a handful of clips that need to be removed to pull the belly pan down so that you can get access to the back of the bumper where the chin spoiler is located. Next, I'm gonna remove the handful of push clips that hold the belly pan to the bottom of the car. Now that I've got the belly pan removed, I can unplug the fog light and turn signal bulbs from the underside before I move my way up to the top and remove the shields up top.Next, I'm gonna use a clip removal tool to remove the eight push clips that hold down the rad cover. Once I have this off, I can expose the upper screws for the bumper. Now, I can remove the six screws that hold the bumper down at the top. There's also one screw on either side underneath the weatherstripping in the front of the bumper. Ours have been replaced over time from use, they are gonna typically be a 6 or 7-mill head screw, and just remove them from each corner before you move to the wheel arches. Next, I'm gonna remove the two push clips that are holding the fender liner to the bumper so that I can peel the fender liner back and remove the screw that holds the bumper in the corner. So, it's a little bit hard to see, but behind this corner of the bumper is a bracket that looks exactly like this, it's bolted to the fender, and there's a small screw that goes through the fender into the bumper and through its own bracket itself to hold this together at the corner. All you have to do is use a 7-millimeter socket to remove the screw and you can pull the corner of the bumper right off. And now, we can just repeat this process on the other side. Now that we have everything disconnected, we can pull the front bumper off.So the factory bumper has some clips molded into the back of it, and in order to get the grille out of it, all you have to do is bend these little tabs down and out of the way, and keep pulling pressure onto the back of the grille to get it to disconnect. So, to install the new grille, all you're gonna need to do is line up the tabs with the holes in the grille, put a little bit of pressure to get everything lined up, make sure they're all started, and just gently tap them into place. With our new grille installed, it's time to throw the bumper back on the car in the exact reverse order of removal. And that's gonna wrap up this review and install of the MMD V-Series upper grille for your '15 to '17 Mustang. Thanks for watching. And for all things Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.

One of the best looking grills on the market
This was not easy but easy once you take the front bumper off. This grill really transformed the front of my mustang but yet it looks like it belongs on the car from factory. I get compliments all the time so my smiles per gallon is pretty high.Helpful (0)

MMD V Series Grille
Definitely worth the price. Front end looks much more aggressive. Wasnt the funnest thing to install, watch for the clips breaking on the side of the front fascia. Car jacks and a second person make it much easier. Highly recommend.Helpful (0)

Makes my v6 look great
Very simple to install though the top didn’t want to click but I think it’s secure enough, it could also be a fault in my bumper. It only took me about 45minutes to take off my bumper and replace my old grille with this one. It looks great, I wish it had the pony emblem in it but other than that, I love it! Totally worth the money.Helpful (0)

Overall, I am very pleased with the look and quality of the upper and lower grilles. They've made a nice change to the front end of my 17 GT. Installation was exactly as described.Helpful (1)

Matches the look I’m going for. My bf installed it do it took him about 5-6hrs. But he’s also not a mechanic so it took him longer. I bought it right when it came out, but I’m my state and area I’m still the only 1 with this grill and look I’m going for. I like it gives it that mean aggressive look to it and not the typical grill people follow off of. It’s unquie. I like my sport car to be unquie and mean looking.Helpful (1)

OEM look and feel.
Very cool looking grill and factory quality. My only problem is you can kinda see the clips holding the grill in from some angles . My car is white , so it's more noticeable against a black grill.Helpful (0)
I was thinking.... can I buy the v-series grille and add the RTR lights the edges on the v series looks like it will fit but I'm not sure... is it possible to have this grille with the RTR lights haha
The LED Accent Vent Lights are designed to work with the RTR Grille. They may not fit properly with the V-Series Grille.
I'm seeing pictures on the web including MMD's website that shows a black pony in the middle of the grille. How do I get this option?
Hello, the V-series does not accommodate a "pony" emblem but one could be attached by some sort of adhesive if desired. Not sure where the black emblem would be sourced from but a stock silver one could be painted if need be.
any advice for a first timer? Bit nervous on the idea of taking off the front fascia of the car but not backing out. How hard would it be to get it done myself?
It's really not that hard of an install, it's just time consuming because you have to take that front fascia off. There really isn't anything to worry about though, taking the front fascia off leaves very little risk for leaving blemishes or anything like that. However, the job does become much easier to do if you have a friend helping you out. Also, we have the install guide listed on the product page if you wanted to take a look at what kind of installation you are getting yourself into before you place your order.
What grille would make 2015 stang standout? This one or the RTR? I also have planned on buying silver mmd rims either staggered or not. Which would be a better buy?? Much appreciated
It all depends on what you like best. I suggest checking out some of the customer submitted photos for each grille so that you can get a better idea of what it will look like.
I'm considering purchasing the MMD V series grille and RTR accent vent lights. Will the lights be compatible with this grille with little to no modification?
Hi, The accent lighting requires the RTR Upper Grille for proper installation we can not guarantee fitment with any other grille.
Once you put on this grill you will not want the "pony" on it. Very aggressive… But if you insist you could always glue one on.
The MM V series grille is a complete replacement of the stock grill, upper and lower. Not a overlay.
Yes it will, just click on the "will it fit my mustang" tab. Personally I would recommend checking out the rtr or gt grille instead of this.
The MMD V-Series Lower Grille is not compatible with Mustangs equipped with the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC).
We do not currently over a mesh backing for the MMD V-Series Grille, however, some auto-parts store or even your local hardware store may have the mesh screens.
The risk of water damage from the openings on the MMD V-Series Grille are very unlikely. An oiled filter does help to keep out other contaminants however. We always recommend them.
