Justin: If you're looking to increase both your appearance and your visibility on the road, then you'll want to check out the MP Concepts LED Diffuser Markers that we have here. Now, this kit from MP will replace the standard reflectors found in your 2015 through '17 Mustang, with a pair of functional and very bright LEDs, off of right around 60 bucks. Installation, according to the site, will get a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and take about an hour or so to complete from start to finish. But if you hang out with me for a bit, we'll walk you through that job later in the video. So, in my opinion, this is a pretty cool and very popular product on the site that turns an otherwise non-functional part of your diffuser into a functional light, thanks to the pair of LEDs from MP Concepts. Now, what these guys will do is completely replace the standard reflectors in the lower portion of your valance nearest the exhaust tips with a pair of super bright LED housings that are going to illuminate whenever your parking lights or your headlights have been switched on.Now, those super bright LEDs have been loaded into a durable ABS plastic housing before being topped off with a very dark smoked polycarbonate lens, which is no doubt going to look very cool for one, but more importantly will match other smoked lights you may have already added to your S550. Now, the nice thing about the housings here, gang, is that they have been designed in a way to be a complete and easy direct swap with your factory or stock reflectors. So, that means no cutting, no 3M tape, nothing crazy in that regard. However, there will be some very light wiring needed to tap these into the marker lights in the rear of your S550. And if you haven't already done so, feel free to check out the customer-submitted images and reviews on these rear diffuser lights back on the product page just to get a better sense of how they might look on your own ride, both on and off, and read up on guys who have actually installed them and get some real-world feedback. But now, we want to show you just what it takes to get them installed on your S550 Mustang at home. So, without further ado, here's that detailed walkthrough and quick tool breakdown.Man: The tools used for this install are a ratchet, short extension, 10-millimeter socket, a drill, and a step bit. So, the first step of this install is going to be to remove the factory deflector out of the diffuser. You're going to need a 10-millimeter socket and you're going to have to squeeze the small pinch tabs that are on the back. This is going to be a little bit hard to see. So, I'm going to demonstrate off car with the new part that we'll be installing just so you can see what we're going to be doing. So, let's get started. So, on the back of your factory deflector, there's going to be a plastic stud and these two pinch clips right here. The stud is going to be retained in there with this small 10-millimeter nut, so what you're going to need is a 10-millimeter socket to unscrew the nut that's on the back of this stud and then you'll just pinch these tabs and you'll be able to remove from the vehicle, no problem. All right. So, like I said before, I'm using a 10-millimeter socket. I also have a short extension. This will help you get back far enough so that you have a clearance you need to turn the ratchet. You remove the small 10-millimeter nut on the back of the deflector. And then once you have the nut off, all you have to do is pinch these tabs. The flicker comes right out.So, because you're going to be tapping into the wire harness for the side marker light, you're also going to have to pop that out. This is a no tools required. You just push on the small tab on the back of the bumper and you can pop that out, disconnect your light, and this gives you access to the harness right here on the side. So, in order to cleanly run our wires from the deflector hole here at the back of the bumper to the side marker hole over here on the side, I have to drill a small hole a couple inches from where the mounting tabs are just so that I can wrap my wires in through the bumper and out through the side. Now, that I've got my hole drilled, I can fish my wires through the hole and I can install my new deflector light and reattach it with the factory hardware. Because this is close to the exhaust system, make sure you're routing your wires away from anything that's going to get hot and potentially melt the wires, and if need be, secure it in place with some zip ties. So, now, I'm going to use the supplied vampire clips to make my electrical connections. I'm going to tap into the black wire for ground and the purple wire for power. Now, we can reinstall our side marker light and we're good to go. Now, I'm going to repeat this process on the other side of the vehicle. And that's going to wrap up this review and install of the MP Concepts LED Diffuser Marker Lights for your '15 to '17 Mustang. Thanks for watching. And for all things Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
