        5 2012 V6 - TimS Installation Time: Afternoon

        Sporty

I bought this unpainted so I could give it a Matte finish, it turned out good. It gives my 2012 S197 a definite more aggressive look. It gives the hood a hotrod race feel when sitting in the drivers seat how it pops up more in the center of the hood. It's a great look for your Mustang.

        5 2011 V6 - RonW Installation Time: Shop Install Installation Cost: $1000+

Just got it out of the shop!

Was going to replace hood with a Cervani due to OEM defects in hood prep and paint (Blistering) that they refused to address. Decided on another route due to liking the lines of original hood. Decided on the Speedform scoop instead. What a GREAT decision! Took to a Custom Shop to match the paint without blending fenders. Picked it up today and very pleased..Shop said the scoop required very little prep before priming. Install was completed by the shop so can't personally respond to install, but shop said it was no problem. One of the shop employees said he had reservations about the scoop but once installed he was very complimentary. It really does change the ATTITUDE of the car. Also replaced the hinges to the Mustang LOGO hinges. Very pleased with all of the results.

5 2012 GT - bezerker Installation Time: Afternoon

        Fits and matches nicely

The paint matches better than some of the factory pieces. The only issue was that a couple of areas needed to be wet sanded and buffed out, but that can be expected.

Don’t pay to do this! Super easy install

If your looking for that aggressive look of a hood scoop and don’t want to have to spend all the extra money and a brand new hood and for the hood to be painted then this is your answer. Paint job itself was excellent, not one flaw and matches my 8 year old paint spot on. Can’t even tell a difference. If you follow the instructions provided then this should only take about 30 mins with one other person to help you align it.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Will this hood scoop fit onto a 2013 Mustang V6? I'm buying a 2013 Black Mustang V6 & thought this scoop would look great on it, but it didnt list 2013 as a model it would fit. Would love to get it if I new that it WOULD work on it.

      • The 2013s are going to have a different hood scoop than this one made for the 2010-2012 as the hoods did change slightly. Keep an eye out!

Do I need to sand the hood down and primer it? or is it ready for base coat?

      • Very minimal sanding will be needed before a primer base is laid down on this scoop. After a few coats of primer, this scoop will be ready for paint! We highly recommend professional preparation and painting to ensure an exact paint match.

Can this fit with the hood on the 05-09's? I keep thinking this would look awesome on my 06' and wondering if anyone has ever tried it on a hood from an 05-06 to see if it would work? My thoughts are that I don't see why it wouldn't work and that it would actually be pretty sweet. Please let me know. I have a feeling you have a few 05-09's sitting around AM that you could set this on to check... Thanks! Jay-

      • No, the 10-12 year stock hoods are curved slightly differently from the stock 05-09 hoods.

Is this the same as the prepainted scoop? The shape of this item looks slightly different than the prepainted one. Are they the same, and will either one fit the 2013 GT premium yet? Thanks. This one looks more like the aftermarket shaped Roush scoop that is coming in November, which is what comes up on the Build your Battle Car site at the Ford website.

      • Yes, this is the same hood scoop as the painted version. Unfortunately, neither will fit the 2013 as they had a different hood than the 10-12 models.
