Justin: If you're looking to really modernize the tail lights on that 2010 through 2012 Mustang then you'll definitely want to check out the 2018 Style Sequential LED Tail Lights that we're talking about here today. Now, these tail lights will combine that modern S550 styling and sequential operation, along with that smoked appearance for right around 400 bucks for the pair. Now, installation on the other hand is going to be a simple plug and play job. So, therefore, figure soft one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and I would say no more than an hour of your time to complete from start to finish, as we'll demonstrate later in the video. So, this is yet another way to update or upgrade the boring factory tail lights in your 2010 through 2012 Mustang and it's one that in this case will pull its inspiration directly from the more modern Mustangs, more specifically the 2018 and newer cars. Now, in fact, they are going to share that same tri-bar styling with the more angular look, and maybe my favorite part with these particular options will be that dark smoked appearance which all together will look very cool once installed. In fact, if you did want to get a better idea of how these might look on your own S197 at home, feel free to check out the dozens of customers submitted images here on the site along with very favorable reviews of these tail lights. But diving a little deeper into the tail lights and again, these will deliver a full LED operation, diffused red LEDs, mind you for the tail lights and brake lights, of course. And then for your reverse lights, well, they've been integrated between the actual tri-bars here in a very stealthy manner, and that's something I really do dig about these tail lights. You're getting eight individual white LEDs per tail light, and even though you can't see them when the tail lights are basically on and not in reverse, when you do throw the car in the reverse, these things are very bright and will certainly get the attention of anybody behind you. Now, prospective buyers can still look forward to that iconic sequential pattern for the turn signals, your brake lights, and so on. And that's all accomplished through the built-in electronics in the end guys, everything is completely plug and play here. So, there's no need for any crazy wiring, modification, or anything like that. Now, the 2018 style lights I do want to point out have been given the DOT stamp of approval which basically makes them legal for use in all 50 states. And they have been sealed tightly to prevent any condensation, moisture, dirt, or dust from becoming a possible issue down the road. Now, finally, guys, I do want to point out that if you really dig these lights from an appearance standpoint or design standpoint, but maybe aren't terribly crazy about the dark smoked appearance, well, you are in luck as you can also find these here on the site with a more factory-like red lens, which again will deliver more of that OE look, or for the owners who dig the kind of OE euro style with the clear lens, well, there is also an option like that available for 2010 through 2012 owners here on the site. All three options are going to fall right in that $400 ballpark, but just be aware that they are available here at AM if you wanted to go a different route. But now we want to show you just what it takes to get the new tail lights up and running in your S197 at home. And again, very simple stuff guys, one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. We call it an hour, which is probably erring on the generous side. I have no doubt in my mind, most of you guys will be able to bang this one out in about 30 minutes or less. But to give you a better idea of how things will go down in the driveway or garage, feel free to check out our detailed walkthrough right now along with a quick tool breakdown.Man: Tools used for this install are: a small impact driver or ratchet, 11-millimeter socket, and a clip removal tool. So, the first step of this install is gonna be pop up in your trunk lid and remove the interior trim panel that covers up the bolts for the tail lights. It's gonna be very simple with the trim panel tool. So let's get started. All right. So, there's a couple of clips that we're going to have to pull out in order to get this panel off. One of them on each side here down here at the bottom and then at the top there is a plastic nut. Ours is missing. All you have to do is unscrew it with your fingers and it'll come right off, no problem. Now that you've got your clips undone, pull your panel back, unplug your interior light, and remove the panel. All right. Now that we've got full access to our tail lights, we need to unplug the connector and push the rubber grommet through the hole before we can undo our nuts. So, now, I'm just gonna use an 11-millimeter socket on a small impact driver to undo each of the three nuts that hold the tail light into the vehicle.I'll just pull my carpeting back a little bit. So, now, we can fish our wire harness back through the hole for our new tail light assembly, and line up our bolt holes. Make sure to engage the grommet for the weathertight seal so that no moisture can get into the vehicle. And then you can make your connection for the tail light right down there. And do not forget to install the included resistor block into the white and black wires that are provided with the harness. Then we can just peel off the 3M backing for that and then stick it right inside the vehicle. Now you have all your connections made, reinstall your factory hardware and tighten everything down. Once again I'm gonna use my 11-millimeter socket and just lightly tap them down. Now we're just gonna repeat the same exact process on the other side. Once again, we're just gonna feed the wire harness through. Just make sure we engage this weathertight grommet so no water can get inside. Line up our studs. Now, we can install the factory hardware. Now we can plug in the tail light connector and also plug in our resistor block. Now, we can reinstall our previously removed trim panel. Don't forget to plug in your interior light and lay it into place. And now, we can just reinstall our clips. And that's gonna wrap up this review and install of the 2018 Style Smoked Sequential LED Tail Light fitting your 2010 to 2012 Mustang. Thanks for watching, and for all things Mustang, keep it right here at americanmuscle.com.
