A Mustang on 19-inch wheels will feel more precise and more aggressive during turn-in, but it will also make the ride less forgiving than with 18-inch wheels. Move to 20 inches, and comfort will start to decrease more significantly. Excessive diameter also tends to add weight, which cancels out some performance benefits. Generally, we tend to recommend 19-inch wheels for newer-generation Mustangs.

Wider wheels allow wider Mustang tires, which equals better grip under acceleration and heavy braking. At the same time, wheels that are too wide can introduce so-called tramlining and worsen the cornering capabilities of your Mustang.

Offset determines how far the wheel sits inward or outward relative to the hub. A lower offset pushes the wheels outward and increases track width, which boosts stability and gives the car a more aggressive stance. Too low, though, and steering weight increases while suspension geometry is compromised. A higher offset tucks the wheels inward, which may cause clearance issues with struts or control arms. Balanced offset selection ensures the Mustang remains predictable and stable.

And of course, it's available in plenty of different finishes, including classic silver, gunmetal gray, and bronze.

Forgestar F14

For drivers who prioritize maximum performance and customization, the Forgestar F14 remains a standout. It offers custom offsets, a strong flow-formed barrel, and a proven record. The ability to tailor fitment allows for square or staggered setups that take full advantage of the Mustang’s suspension geometry. While we did mention that the EC-7s are available in plenty of finishes, they get nowhere close to the F14s by Forgestar, which are available in more than eight color options.

RTR Tech 7

A third and final choice for this list is the RTR Tech 7f5g wheel, which was designed with input from a world champion drifter and off-road racer, Vaughn Gittin Jr., and engineered to complement the Mustang’s factory suspension tuning. They’re not the lightest of aftermarket wheels, but they are outstanding when it comes to structural rigidity. With many different sizes and offsets available, you’ll surely find the right RTR Tech 7 wheel for your build.
