    Review & Installation Video

Hey I’m Justin with AmericanMuscle.com, and I’m taking a closer look at MMD’s pre painted retro mirrors fitting all 2010 and newer Mustangs. If you’ve been around the site a little while, then you probably couldn’t help but notice all the cool and unique styling parts MMD has been producing for newer model Mustangs. These plastic Bullitt style mirrors are designed to completely replace the clunky factory mirrors on your Mustang, that really don’t do much for the lines of the car. As you can see these mirrors from MMD flow much better with the retro lines of the 2010 and newer Mustang. The mirrors themselves are pre painted right here at AmericanMuscle headquarters, saving you the hassle of having to get these parts painted yourself. Of course our paint shop uses the same base and clear coat urethane paint that Ford uses in their factories. Included in the package you’ll find both pre painted housings, the mounting brackets, and new glass cut specifically to the shape of the retro housing. As far as the installation goes, you will need to transfer your mirror motors from the factory mirrors, over to the new MMD housings. While it’s nothing more than removing a few screws, it will take a little extra time, so that’s why we’re going to call this one 2 hours from start to finish, just to be safe. If you’re one of the few Mustang fans out there who aren’t big fans of the factory mirrors found on your 2010 and up Mustang, then check out these pre painted retro mirrors from MMD, exclusively at AmericanMuscle.com

Retro Inspired Styling. Complete the retro inspired muscle car appearance of your modern Mustang with a pair Modern Muscle Design Mirrors for classic race car styling. These MMD Retro Mirrors not only look great, but they come pre-painted to match your Mustangs factory color straight out of the box.

Painted Here to Match 2010-2014 Factory Mustang Colors. These Modern Muscle Design Retro Mirrors are painted right here, at AmericanMuscle HQ, with the same base coat clear coat urethane paint Ford used on the exterior of your Mustang to match your factory color perfectly.

High Quality Construction. MMD Retro Style Mirrors are manufactured from injection molded automotive grade acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS) material for its superior durability and light-weight.

Application. This pair of Modern Muscle Design Retro Mirrors are designed to fit the 2010 to 2014 Ford Mustangs, including the V6, GT, BOSS, and Shelby GT500 models.

Technical Note: The MMD Retro mirrors are sold without motors, it is required to reuse your factory mirror motors and installation hardware.

    Find Your Paint Code

    • Choose the year of your Mustang from the options above. The color choices displayed will be the only exterior paint colors available for your year Mustang. The first two letters for each color option are the paint code for your exterior color.

    • If you need to verify your paint code, look inside the door jam of your driver's side door at your VIN plate to find your exterior paint code.

MMD Retro Mirrors is also available Unpainted for those who like to do-it-yourself.

Blind spot mirrors Do these mirrors come with blind spot mirrors in them like the stock mirrors?

        • No, I installed mine yesterday. I like the blind spot mirror that come stock. This look of these mirrors are worth loosing the blind spot, you could always go to the local auto parts dealer and pick up blind spot mirror and stick it on. I did that on a 94 Cougar I have. Worked out well

Even though these are unpainted, do they have to be painted or can I leave them unpainted and not worry any primer (if any) will come off?

        • No, painting these is not required.

I bought the unpainted mirrors to save the $100 cost on the pre-painted mirrors. I figured that it would be cheaper to do it myself - until they arrived. The big problem is masking off the part you don't want to paint. If it could be separated into the two parts it was initially in, it would be easy - but the mirror assembly can't be separated. Does anyone have some tips on the masking procedure or should I take the easy way out and paint the whole assembly?

Can the puddle lamps work with these mirrors

Review from MMD Retro Mirrors - Unpainted (10-14 All)

            Sleek Mirrors

These mirrors are a great upgrade to your stock mirrors. The OEM mirrors looked like the mirrors on my truck, not very aerodynamic and too boxy looking. These retro mirrors give my GT500 the look it should have had from the Factory, sleek design that gives my car the finished appearance that a performance vehicle should have. Ford got it right in the 60's and 70's now my GT500 has it right in 2019. Second vehicle I have these on! Install is straight forward and quite easy, just follow the directions and your good to go. I do wish each mirror were able to be disassembled for paint, it would have made it easier to get a real smooth finish where the mirror and neck meet, hence the 4 stars. Other than that its a solid five star product!

            Fits perfectly

Fits perfectly and looks very sporty. As I didn't have the exact tools, I had to improvise and it took almost 1.5 hours to install. With the correct tools it shouldn't take more than 45 mins. The mirrors come with an installation pamphlet that explains it 100. Simply follow the numbers and there will be no problem to install.

Review from MMD Pre-Painted Retro Style Mirrors - Deep Impact Blue (10-14 All)

            Stylish and simple

The look of the retro style mirrors are a good fit to the car. It blends well with the existing curves of the car. The intslation process is very simple and quick all together I spent 30 to 45 min installing the new mirrors. With them being pre painted I was able to finish the install and head straight to a car meet.

            Easy install, smaller mirror

The install was as easy as 1, 2, 3 although the instructions could be a little better. You need to remove the 3 mounting screws from the original mirror an install them on the replacement mirror. They don't show that in the video or instructions. The mirror looks good, but it provides less visibility than the factory mirror. Maybe 1/2 to 1/3 less mirror. That is all from me. Colin S.

Nice 'Old School' touch for the Pony

I was facing a project of replacing the drivers side mirror on my 2013 Pony. Was looking on eBay and other sites, with costs over $300 each. Found the MMD shells for $200. I was debating over Black or Silver... went with Black. Took about two hours to pull the mirrors and their motors. The new mirrors look great, giving my new Pony a touch of classic muscle car styling.

            Sleek!

The mirrors look great! I was forced into buying new mirrors since someone had driven by my car and managed to rip my driver side mirror off. I was hesitant to buy these being as they are smaller and very different from the factory mirrors, however after putting them on and driving around a while with them I actually started to enjoy them much more. Closer to the body of the car and sleeker looking.

            As it should be!

Sleek, sexy, and arodynamic their perfect! Just be able to make/cut some plastic off your old ones to get to the parts you need and or make a hole bigger in the new ones with a drill bit or cutting tool as my premium 2013 didn’t match thier basic install instructions. Its all minor and really just slightly annoying additional work but they still come out perfect if you’re careful.

One of A few mods that further its retro look

The mirror shell itself and paint spot on . My only issue is the ABS mounting plate it's not all that flat , it actually bows out. Supplied are (3) 8mm. Flat washers for shimming ; makes no sense. Very gently used a heat on the back side ; gently bent straight ( several times ) the result mounting plate straight , fit great . Instructions for RandR and swapping out motors straight forward . Bottom line THEY LOOK GREAT

Practically buying one and getting the other free. Stock mirrors were 300 a housing. Thanks American Muscle

            Great Look...

These mirrors look great! The only issue I have is that in the installation instructions it tells you to use a 10mm socket to get all the nuts off the studs....If only it were that easy. Part of the door panel covers one stud on each side. A pain to get off but not the end of the world. The wiring for the motor was a bit tricky but all in all took a little under an hour.

            Just missing one thing

I bought these months ago and sent them back like a bone head over not having any engines in them. Then I thought to myself I am not going to sale the car so what do I care. Also you can buy a new engine if you need one. I got them in two days and love them. I am going to get the blind spot tabs on my next day off. They look great and I love the sound as I am driving. You can hear how they are cutting through the air. The old ones did not make this sound with how they are made. Only reason they are getting the 4 stars and not 5 is because of the engines. Put them with them and boom a 5 all the way
