I'm ready to purchase the PA Street/Strip valve body, but my concern is on reviewer's statement "You cannot go 45mph and come to an almost compete stop(still creeping 5-10mph) and then take off because the trans will be in neutral". We use our car basically as a cruiser, with the occasional spirited driving during rally's. For cruising I don't want to have to worry about it not down shifting properly. Was this an issue for anyone else or a one off case? 1 answer
Does this valve body change shift points and is it full automatic? 1 answer

            Strong, grate kit!

I installed this valve body when I rebuilt my 4r70w. Best thing I ever did, worth every penny. All I do is drive around with overdrive off unless I'm going over 60 or so. One thing I will say is in any kind of weather rain ect. When second gear hits round corners be careful she slides even with my new tires and spins til 3rd.

            Great bang for the buck

This valve body is just like a new trans. The shift firmness is great, will plant the tire going from first to second. The biggest improvement was the shift points, car is now holding gears through the power band. If you have a auto, this is a must have.

            Good performance

I had this product installed because of the sloppy shifts this transmission has,I really was looking to firm up the shifting which this did. Very happy with how this performs.

4 1999 GT - SteelSteve Installation Time: Weekend

            What a difference

It took me all weekend as one of my transmission pan bold stripped out and I needed to buy a tap kit to tap it out. Overall very happy with the installation and performance, though there does appear to be a lag between 1st and 2nd when manually shifting. Running in just drive I have experienced no such anomaly. It took about 10 quarts of transmission fluid to replace what was lost during this installation. Add the fluid slowly starting with about 6 quarts, start the car and let sit. With foot on the break start going through the gears leaving it to idle for about 5 minutes in between. Check the fluids every so often and add more as needed. Definitely wakes up the automatic transmission.

Bring life back to your trans

First off, my car has 160k miles and is my daily driver. 4r70w already shift sloppy and randomly, this valve body makes it firm and crisp. Install was easy, if u can use hand tools u can put it in. Be patient and take your time and it's simple. Watch the install video on pa's website. Totally worth the money.

            4 2000 GT - Keenin2000GT1972 Installation Time: Weekend

            Woke up the trans

Took me a Saturday to do this with no lift, if I would have had one would have been way less of a pain to install. This valve body did wake up my Trans like i had hoped it would. Didn't cost me anything fiance bought it for me for Valentine’s Day. So guys throw some hits out there for next thing coming up. If you are looking for something for your drive train to wake it up a bit I recommend this, cheaper than a new Trans. I didn't like the gasket they sent with it. So I went to ford and bought a replacement along with a filter as well why not right, don’t forget you’re ATF, looking at some under drive pulleys for my next buy. Good luck with your cars and enjoy them.

            Firm shifts

Much easier than installing a shift kit. Will now chirp second and third under moderate acceleration. PA makes good products and would recommend.

            Tedious but worth it

This was like putting a new transmission in my car!!! It took me two five hour days, taking my time. Keep in mind that there is about 60-80 total screws and it is best if they all go back in same place. This job really is not that hard, don't be imitated. While doing this job it is a good time to clean the trans pan, do a fluid change w/ new filter and install new transmission solenoids. The only negative about this set is that you can not take off if you do not come to a complete stop. You cannot go 45mph and come to an almost compete stop(still creeping 5-10mph) and then take off because the trans will be in neutral.
