            Torque Pins Save You Money

I purchased the torque pins for all four windows, in my 89 Mustang GT convertible. They were so cheap that I thought I would give them a try, instead of buying new motors. They worked great! You just have to clean out the ground up remains of the old pins, regrease and install the new pins. Now my windows work again, at a fraction of the cost, of replacing the whole motor assemblies. 5 stars!

            Worked Perfectly

These fixed my rear power windows that would go down but struggled to go up. A very inexpensive fix that solved the problem. After cleaning out all the broken pieces of the originals, the hardest part was getting all 3 pins in the assembly. I used a couple of blocks of wood and a vice. Once they popped in, it was easy to reassemble and reinstall in my car.

            Save money

My 91 lx convertible rear window would not go up. I took door panel off and everything appeared to still be intact. Once I disconnected the motor from the window I checked the motor and noticed it wasn't spinning. I then began to search AM for replacement motors when I came across the torque pins for a lot cheaper. I then pulled the gear cover off and discovered the torque pins were all broke inside. That's when I decided to order these and give it a try. Upon getting them I removed all the grease and after several tries got them seated properly. Applied new grease and reassembled. Test time. Plugged motor in and motor turned smooth and easy. These are a very good option for anyone who has a working motor but not turning. Tip for installing them is to make sure everything is smooth where the sit. Mine had a little lip from wear and tear caused by the pins breaking apart and chewing up the inside plastic receiver. Then you have to get all three in position evenly and press down. A little tough but it can be done.

            Great success

These little babies saved me from having to buy new motors for now. I was amazed how many pieces the original ones were broken into. As if they had gone through a garbage disposal. Replacing them was easy, but pretty messy, and I had to use quite a few cleaners to remove the old blackened original grease. I found that throttle body cleaner works best. I took pictures, but there is no option in this review to upload it. If I find out later, I'll add it.

            Here's a real winner!

The local parts stores want to sell me a new motor (for $65.00!), and won't even get these repair parts. I fixed both sides for less than $15.00, leaving me with an easy hundred bucks to play with. Requires a bit of time and getting your hands dirty, but it's a great deal.

Little plastic bits solve annoying problem

They are small plastic bits but they work. Slipping them into the motor took a bit but when all was done the window worked again. Couldn't be happier

            rear window fix

The rear window motor on my 92 lx quit working. I was worried that I was going to have to purchase the entire motor. These small torque pins were all the motor needed to get up and going again. They were a tight fit and required some patience to install but a great fix once they were in.

            Hurray - I hope!

I took apart the motors for the quarter windows on my '92 LX convertible and found lots of tiny plastic pieces stuck in grease. I cleaned out the pieces and bought some replacement pins at a local parts store. They did not fit. I read the reviews here and took the chance and - they fit! I have not been able to test if these solved the problem because the battery is not in the car due to other projects, but I have every expectation that these pins will function MUCH better than the 432,000 pieces from the original old pins I scooped out of the motors.

I always keep a set on hand.

These are the inexpensive cure for 95% of my power window issues. Never know when they will "save my window" and pop/crush. Especially on my vert 1/4 windows. Easy fix and good for another 5-10 years? Don't go jamming a bunch of grease in with them either - not needed. If you've never done it you might consider replacing the whole gear assy. It's not alot of money either. Plastic gets brittle eventually.

            The right fix

My driver's side quarter window on my 89 convertible no longer went up and down on its own. There was still power at the motor and you could hear it trying to turn but it wouldn't budge without some help. Picked these up and took the motor out. Cleaned the inside of the motor up and put these in. Good as new.
